Beautiful day trip from Denver. Decent road with great views.

Fun trail with great views from the top.

Hiked this in spikes on 10.21.18. Great workout and spectacular views from the top. A hidden gem that isn’t heavily trafficked in off season.

This trail was not very difficult, but still somewhat fun. The views are amazing, but I just wish the trail was harder. As of 10/20/18 there are hunters everywhere, but that is probably ever October.

First half mile is the toughest, good scenery. Crystal Mountain Trail (at the end of Moody) is closed, but the Private Road back to Buckhorn gets you back without backtracking.

Easy drive up to the fork where we ran into plenty of snow.

10-4-18 trail is blocked by a couple big trees that have fallen down. also right after the entrance somebody shot skeet and didnt bother to pick up at least 20 to 30 bright yellow shotgun shells. classy... :(

I drove Storm Mountain 128 and 153 with my girlfriend in her stock 17 Rubicon unlimited. It cleared all exposed rock obstacles. However, there is 1 section I did not chance on the end of the steep climb on 153. Only had 1 jeep and no winch. Other than that, it was a great time! I saw a couple other jeeps along the trail. The aspen are changing. I also saw several turkey with poults. Saw 1 yote on the trail. Good times, check this spot.

+beautiful trails above the treeline
+more trails than what the app said
+beautiful lakes

-1 or 2 mildly challenging spots
-nearly all very rocky, but I imagine that comes with the altitude

+great view at the top
+pleasant trail
+saw a huge moose

-only one challenging spot at the beginning

-app is not accurate for trailhead, I had to ask locals. you'll come to a 3 way stop in an opening near the end of where the app wants you to go. the app wants you to go left, but go right. roughly a quarter mile down the road you'll see a house on the left side of the road with a red(if I recall correctly) door and a hard left turn by the house, take the left. I wrote these directions from memory from 2 months ago, but I'm pretty confident that's right.

Such cool trails. Amazing views, nothing super technical but good all around. I'll just let the videos speak for themselves.

Metberry Gulch is a cool trail with lots to look at. The rock formations are endless and the mix of red dirt makes it a cool area. The trail has been nerf'd so the notch area I drove past and almost missed it. The giant rut at the bottom of the slab has been filled in as well making it more like coming out of a parking garage than a major obstacle. Even when this trail was "bad" my buddy did it in his stock Frontier, never been offroad before. If you'd like to see a video of the run I have one up at:

The trailhead is on private property and completely blocked off. The road up is an easy off-road trail. That’s what we recorded. Super bummed.

Great ride most the way. Some points narrow to just a little more than a 4-wheeler. Need good clearance and good tires too. Stopping places to eat a packed meal are many, and beautiful. Summit is beautiful.
We also went on up from the GP summit to another trail which was good but a narrow road with a lot of steep drop offs for a good ways. Summit view there was wonderful too.

Excellent trail. A little scary going down the back of Webster pass (on your way to the start of Red Cone) as if gets a little narrow in one specific spot but other then that it was an excellent trail with some great fall colors!
We did air down which made the ride a lot smoother and a little easier in the narrower spots. Also, the water in the river was low at the beginning of the trail.
Wasn’t too crowed when we went on Saturday . I love this trail!

Great trail for the views, and the off road challenges. In my side by side the Webster pass road was a lot of fun. Radical hill and Red Cone , not for the faint of heart or un skilled drivers. Had fantastic day and only had time for half the trails in the area will definitely return again and again.

I made it about halfway up from the North side, coming from Breckenridge, before I had to turn around. I drove through two water crossings before hitting a steep section with loose rock and slid about 20-30 feet downhill, backwards, into the water! Had good tires, but that doesn't mean anything when you are on loose rocks. It was pretty nerve racking but everything turned out okay and next time I may try it from Jefferson to Breckenridge - sounds a lot easier coming that way. The top of the pass is deeply rutted and a bone shaker - so I hear. I would suggest a good 4 wheel with adequate clearance. Make sure you wheel with a buddy in case something happens. Lots of great campsites!

it was fun until the road got to steep. I tried to do this in a can am 850 outlander but didn't make it to the end. ended up rolling the atv. it was still fun.

Went Aug. 11 from the Jefferson side. Regular dirt road 'til the top of the pass. pretty rocky the first mile and a half or so. A stock 4 x 4 can make. Just make good decisions over rocks. Good family trail. A couple geocache's to find. pond. lots flowers. drinks at marina. good times.

Have done Webster Pass the last two years. Numerous times. Always a good trail. Nothing too technical until you start climbing the pass. Because it is so narrow and right on the cliff side. But this pass stays open all summer and fall and part of spring. Would not recommend Red Cone unless you are hardcore and have some really good brakes. Good views and moderate wheeling.

Did this with Atvs. Parked at the parking lot before you reach the trailhead. Busy on weekends but worth the trip!

Amazing drive. Can be packed on weekends depending on the time. Great views and scenery throughout the whole drive.

Great day trip. North side is rough but the south side is not much more than a gravel road Trail markings on the north are good. Coming at it from the south is harder to find the road.

Disclosure: I was on two wheels today, a Honda CRF450X.

The top of Argentine Pass might be the most spectacular view in the state of Colorado. Simply amazing. The terrain to get there is a sketchy bumpy ride. Much of the “trail” is covered with jagged rocks that vary in size from softball to basketball. These rocks move around while riding on them and therefore like to make you change direction!! My arms are a bit tired but the ride was fantastic. Stay in a low gear, keep the weight off the front tire, and muscle over the obstacles.

There is much to explore up there and many different trails to adventure down. I wasn’t lucky enough to see wildlife up there today but I can see how it’s more common that you would encounter some.

Expect high winds at the top!!!

The trail indeed ends at the top. Do NOT attempt to continue down the other side in a Jeep/truck/SUV!!!! However, there is a trail that continues down the other side that is intended for hikers and perhaps a mountain bike. Had I not been riding alone I might have attempted to continue on, but didn’t feel safe to try it alone. I’ll upload a picture or two.

Cheers and happy adventures to all.

My son and I had a great time! Easy trail but the views are amazing and the river at the end was a lot of fun to play in.

We went up from Breck side using a quad ATV and it was an awesome trail. Pretty rocky in several places, but on an ATV it was very easy. I don’t see how these jeeps make it. Lol but we got up to the pass and it was beautiful! We couldn’t go down on the other side because it’s highway legal vehicles only. But we took a different way down and we were rewarded with being the only ones out there and breathtaking views. However, taking GH 258 down was very very very difficult near Road 6. Like, we had to get off the 4 wheeler and take one boulder at a time. But we made it and it was a blast.

Went for a ride with 7 other jeeps today. Awesome trail - nice length. Took up most of the day with the occasional stop to take in the sights. Gets very narrow/steep at some points so if you’re going with a group make sure you look ahead. A few tricky spots but my stock JL made it no problem.
