Very hot! Make sure you bring $5 exactly and a pen! Bring water!! Ok trail for dogs, but remember to bring water for them. Very narrow trail and would not recommended going by your self .

Did this on Saturday morning, started at 6:30 am and to be honest with this heat we were looking for a nice challenging hike with a nice lake. NOT!! The pic on this app is deceiving to say the least. The RESERVOIR is behind a fence, so no refreshing water for us. The views were nice with a very difficult overgrown trail. I can see how people can go off trail without this app. Will not be back..

Nice hike, not too difficult but definitely a good workout. The trail is pretty narrow and there's lots of horse poop all along the 4+ miles. Had to keep stopping my dog from trying to eat it. Eew! My dog did get a tick on this hike so use bug spray and check yourself and your furry friends after.

This was a very nice trail. Would rate as easy-moderate. Definitely would suggest exploring each little treasure around during the hike. Adds more time but the graffiti art is very pretty.

Entrance is at the end of a construction road past a yellow gate once you leave the residential area. You’ll walk until you hit a fork- to the left there is a gate entrance and to the right is more paved road. Both loop around & bring you back to the beginning of the fork.
If you want a good butt workout, I would suggest going to the right. The end (left gate entrance) is a long flight of stairs that will definitely tire you out.

Terrific hike. Beautiful ocean views and enough difficulty to make you feel like you had a solid workout. Started at 8:30am on a Sunday and saw only 4 others on the hike. Serene.

This is a good moderate steady uphill climb with great views of Simi Valley and the San Fernando Valley. Just note that when you get to the first fork, head left rather than right to continue up the trail. I had veered right and there are a few scrambly climbs and a viewpoint and beautiful plateau like area with wildflowers, but to continue the trail, go left.

There were a surprising number of people on the trail for a weekday evening and everyone was quite friendly and seemed like experienced because no one seemed taxed.

I started the hike in the evening around 6.20 and wanted to get back before dark so I did not make it all the way to the top, so I definitely am coming back. Surprisingly, other people were starting up the trail around 7.40 so I would love to hear what their experience was like starting the climb an hour before dark!

Lots of challenging (in a good way) steep up and down....beautiful views....keep an eye on your map so you don’t go off course, although mostly pretty clear which way to go. Definitely warrants the “Hard” rating but what a blast! Lots of sun if you don’t go early...we started about 11 and finished about 2....uphill and down hill take longer than flat!! Not for the faint hearted, but go for it!!

So awesome one of the best I've been on has everything for all levels and skills

Fantastic Loop! The first half is fairly easy, but still pretty and full of wildlife early in the morning (started 6:30 a.m. and saw at least 10 cottontail rabbits, a mule deer, and many birds). The second half begins when you hit a main road-you’ll see a private residence with horses and then you’ll turn off the main road back onto the trail and over a wooden bridge. This is when it gets challenging-all uphill until you hit a beautiful peak where you have a 360 view of Westlake Village on one side and Malibu Canyon on the other. You’ll continue at this higher altitude until the Las Virgines Reservoir comes into view and the descent begins. Views of the reservoir are spectacular. This trail was empty in the early morning-i saw one person from 6:30-9 a.m. Highly recommend!

Loved this hike. Beautiful ocean views, nicely marked trails and not too packed. I went on a sunday and there weren't many people. Lots of horseback riding groups and horse manure on the trails. Not much shade, so bring sunscreen, sunglasses and water!

Easy to get to from LA and easy to park in the nearby residential area. Good for an easy hike with some unique sights and tons of graffiti. Barely any people and good for dogs.

Holly Molly I was dying! LoL for beginners is not completely a place to start because woooo LORT! I was dying lol I didn’t do the stairs down to the Nazi area because I knew my ass wasn’t going to be able to come back up HA! My hubby said it’s an amazing work out he liked very much. I just started the whole hiking thing so maybe in the future I can go back once I’m more in shape. Other then that really cool place to take in the peace and what not

This hike was awesome! Seriously there’s so many different trails I’d have to come back several times to try them all out. Bring plenty of water & have fun!

This was a nice walk with the added interest that it was an old Nazi camp. The graffiti kind of adds some humor to the walk. Parking was ok but you have to respectful of the residents as there are lots of No Parking areas. We really enjoyed the day as it was not too hot. I would do this one again.

Nice wooded trail, the walk was very enjoyable with the sound of birds along the way, I did this hike on May 19 and the weather was perfect.

Super easy loop, even first .7 miles to the top, under 12 mins.
4.4 miles @3.9 mph 1:07
It's a very short loop, had to add a little extra mileage, took to Westlake Blvd and back to the loop, bring it to 4.4 miles. Still short with add. It's beautiful in the spring when its green, not so much now that it's dead and brown. Nice wide trails makes it easy to spot snakes well ahead of time on warmer days. No shade on this trail. There are several trails in this area that link together, make your own route...

Hiked all the way to the Chumash trail and back. It turned out to be 8 miles for me. Great views once it cleared up. Got there at 5:30am on a Saturday and there was quite a few cars parked already. There more parking across the bridge.

This trail is filled with amazing views. When my friends and I went we were taken back by the beauty of the trees and the area alone. Would definitely go back!!

This is not a hike. It’s a walk along a paved fire road and paved trail for 75% of the loop. Fun little loop if you’re into abondoned buildings and graffiti. The Nazi sympathizer ranch is interesting but I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re looking to tackle some terrain. Like I said, this is a walk - not a hike.

This hike is amazing. The views go on as far as the eye can see. I felt like the further back on the trail I went the more beautiful the scenery was. Well worth the climb!

Pretty in the spring, after rains. Wildflowers. Kind of steep in some places on the way up. About a mile up you arrive at an expansive field with offshoot trails. Dog, kid and mountain bike friendly. Plenty of parking at entrance.

Like this trail a lot and it has become my regular trail, very pretty. Very overgrown right now on the trail that runs parallel to Long Canyon Road - I hope they trim it back because you are brushing up against all the grass and bushes through that part. And a big heads up - it's tick season! I pulled 3 off my dog today and had 1 fall out of my shirt when I came home and was changing. Also, lots of fox tails right now on all the dry grass. It was an expensive trip to the vet to have one removed from my dog's ear canal. No, you cannot see it inside the ear - but your dog will be shaking their head.

Easy trail. At a slow pace about 90 minutes. Lots of birds. Also look for the seashell fossils in the rocks.

This trail is great for beginner hikers,, those that want to be in nature for a quick walk/hike, or those with kiddos who want to hike! It’s on the easy/moderate side. There’s a clear trail to follow, with some pathways diving into nature. It’s a nice combination to have both. People walking dogs and at the park are around. It was fun and got my heart rate up :)

The trailhead can be a little tricky to find (it’s in the back of a neighborhood), but once you do you’re in for treat. The trail is well defined, the scenery is lush, and the sense of scale is incredible.

I have done this hike on three separate occasions and have enjoyed every single one. The first two times every building was left intact and we got to explore them fully, while the third time one of them was torn out (I believe in was the machine shed).

Based on my experience it gets a five, however, if the buildings have truly been torn out (I haven’t found current article claiming one way or the other), it would drop down to a three.

I enjoyed this hike so much. it's sad that they tore it down.

The sweeping coastal plains are magnificent and the landscape is perfectly suited to equestrian activities. There are plenty of trails for hiking, biking, walking and riding. The way this area has been preserved makes you think about what the California coast used to look like. Truly beautiful.

The trail for the hike has plenty of signs along the way and it is well-travelled - lots of families. The “waterfall” wasn’t more than a trickle today, so I would suggest visiting after a rain to see the waterfall in action. Plenty of frogs and tadpoles for the kids along the creek.

The area is in recovery after the 2013 fire, so don’t expect a lot of old, dense growth. It’s all fairly new growth that is green, but needs another 5 years to fill out.

If you’re looking for a nice coastal hike, check it out.
