To Be Conquered Map

Fun Easy late afternoon hike

All trails says moderate but the park labels it strenuous. For me it was definitely more difficult than expected. Lots of different terrain and some rock climbing... be prepared, take plenty of water. The trail takes a lot longer than you might think. But, totally worth the views, beautiful!

this trail is generally not suitable for trail running - too many steep staircases narrow passages. a beautiful hike, especially if you link to the spruce canyon trail

Guided tour only. The most iconic of the cliff dwellings.

Not tons of petroglyphs. There is a little bit of squeezing through rocks and there are some steps, so if you're way out of shape and it's a hot day and you're not used to high elevation, maybe skip this one. I did see some bear tracks in the mud on the upper part of the trail.

Went with the wife on 4/23/18 it was a amazon hike but the steps where super slippery! My wife fall on the steps and cut the hike short of making it to the top of vernal falls bruise tail bone was thankfully all to come of it but the fact it was so heavily trafficked and with her hurt made it even more difficult to come down will try again probably in early summer months when the falls aren’t as heavy the steps themselves almost became little waterfalls very sketchy seeing people and children run up them

Strenuous hike but with beautiful views. Did this hike on 4/21 and it was very crowded including lots of out of shape people and children. This made the 600 step section harder and somewhat unnerving. Came down via the John Muir Trail which I highly recommend so you avoid the crowded slippery steps and also get some nice views of the valley.

Great trail some rock climbing beautiful views at top.

A very nice trail! A must to go when you are in Yosemite Vallet. I enjoyed myself all the way up and down. Expect steep sections but it’s still pretty good as long as you get some rest. Go clockwise - highly recommend. Restrooms are closed during winter, so when I went this time it was still closed. The nearest restrooms will be by the shuttle bus stop.

Hiked at the end of March went up John Muir trail and down the mist trail. Really lovely challenging hike with views of the valley and waterfalls. Also great views of half dome. Enjoyed it better than Yosemite falls.

Steep parts with the 600 steps, which also gets pretty slippery. Wear a rain jacket, pack a protein-filled lunch, and bring at *least* 24 oz of water per person. I would say it’s on the harder end of moderate.

Awesome Hike to the worlds largest tree

Great hike not too bad even with 12 and 8 year.. lots of traffic though.. must do hike

A great first hike in Yosemite, was a little more difficult than anticipated...we went up Mist Trail and down John Muir (which I recommend because the views are UNREAL and it's less crowded). The MT was cool but very crowded with reckless people...infant babies, flip flops on slippery surfaces...just very unnerving. But if you can wake up early enough to beat the crowd it will be much more enjoyable. You will get wet! I recommend early summer when the falls are full and flowing.

Great hike, although a little crowded on the weekends.

I LOVED the flatirons! This was my first hike in Boulder as someone who was traveling from out of state. The elevation definitely makes this a bit more challenging, though I would say I struggled more with walking the inclined trail than the rocky terrain. Some of the areas were pretty challenging while others weren't so bad. Wear good hiking boots/shoes and you'll be set! The view from the top was fantastic.

This was a cool hike if you want to hike in Mesa Verde, but we were expecting the petroglyphs to take up much more space. The hike itself was nice though. It is a loop trail. The first half is pretty moderate, but the second half I would say is pretty easy. If we get the chance to go back to Mesa Verde, we probably would choose a different hike with different views.

I did this two days ago. Although grueling on the way up, humbling along the way, mesmerizing at the top!
I will do this again!

Incredible hike! I struggled getting to the top, cramping and sore muscles going up. Very wet, so be careful of slippery rocks. The falls are amazing and breathtaking!

I don’t understand why this is rated hard and Sanitas is rated moderate.

Great trail for a half day hike. View is awesome. We added the Flatiron loop on the way back.

Beautiful views at the end. Huge payoff for the extremely short hike.

Hiked 4.11.18 - stunning hike!! more on the hard side of moderate for sure with all the stairs and boulders, but worth it at the top!! Plenty of runoff so bring waterproof shoes or shoes you won't mind getting wet and dirty. Take your time on the wet rocks - they are so slippery! I was so thankful I thought to bring a poncho as the mist from Vernal Falls was BRUTAL. Again, WORTH IT ALL- absolutely breathtaking views!

Fun and currently in good condition. View at the top is tough to beat.

A must-do hike to see general sherman in its glory. The trail is quite crowded due to being the main attraction in sequoia national park.

When you are able to take a photo with the famous tree, I recommend asking someone to take a vertical panoramic photo bc that’s the only way you’ll be able to fit the whole tree in a photo!

A great & intense little hike for a long lunch break (2hrs) in the middle of the day. Definitely one of my top 3 favorite hikes in Boulder.

Wow. I have hiked around the world and seen the worlds largest waterfalls but this place is truly special! Just did it 4/8/18 after heavy flooding in the Yosemite valley and vernal falls was PUMPING. It was absolutely brutal to walk up the steps getting beat in the face with mist. Additionally, most people stopped well before Nevada Falls (I think because they couldn't find the trail). Keep on going for an additional treat. What a spectacular spot. Much better than Yosemite falls!
