A little tougher than we thought but had two seniors along and they made it to the summit! Great views... best to do this hike on a clear day if possible.

Excellent hike. A little more strenuous than we had anticipated. Not overly difficult, but be prepared for traversing a bit of water. It does get crowded. Definitely take the "harder" route; otherwise, it would be really boring.

Nice short easy walk. It was the first mountain walk I’ve taken my dog on and the first mountain walk I’ve done solo. Not a super busy path, although there were others around which was comforting but I also did it end of September. Great for a easy walk close to the city!

As others have said take the harder route up and the gravel road down. It’s much more scenic; the gravel road does not offer much at all in terms of views and is rather boring. Overall really enjoyed this hike and will definitely do it again!

It was raining and starting to slick up so we didn’t go past the first falls. But what a great walk with kids on a cold and rainy Saturday.

Great hike. Easy to do, fun to explore. Great pay off. I definitely suggest continuing past the first falls. You can go in behind the upper falls and it has spectacular views. Not sure if there is a direct path but we wound up doing some unintentional rock climbing to get up there. Well worth it.

Busy and tight some places but after upper falls to Ink Pots it clears out.

Snowy today and a bit slippery in parts. Be sure to wear layers, hat, gloves, proper hiking boots, and bring poles if you are not steady. Was able to complete the hike in an hour. No views today because of the weather.

Totally agree with those who say harder route up and easy route down. A great trip. Would have been even better if it wasn't so cloudy the day we went BUT it us a hike worth doing even if the views are partly obscured by cloud. not TOO many people on the trail in September when we were there, but it is a popular trail.

Very easy walk. Quite short. Pretty falls at the end.

A nice walk on a paved path through a lovely canyon. Don’t go looking for a hike, but the scenery is nice. It was a rainy day and still there were many people on the trail, don’t want to imagine it on a sunny day. The trail to ink pots is much better - packed dirt path and less people. These are definitely worth the walk, beautiful mountain backdrop and the ink pots are beautiful.

One of my all time favourite views.

Pretty easy trail. The trail is well travelled so it's nice and wide open. Great views from the top. Good short hike if you're looking for something that's not hard but still gives great views

One of my favourite views so far, easy hike until you get to the end. Bring poles, otherwise getting down ya a struggle!

This a great hike for families. My kids (ages 6 and 10) handled it beautifully. The bridges are fun to cross and they enjoyed jumping from rock to rock in places. You may see climbers so look up!

Rather boring thru unimpressive Johnston Canyon and the lower/upper falls. Paved path good for families and seniors. Lots of people dropped off by buses. We continued onto the Ink Pots via a rather steep hike (dirt trail); the crowds thin out. The Ink Pots are very interesting and worth the hike.

Very easy paved path with railing for the majority of the route. Beautiful waterfall/river/canyon views but extremely crowded. 10-15 minute lines at each viewpoint so we turned back after the second waterfall before going further to the ink pots.

Loved this trail! The waterfall Is beautiful and the ink pots are a beautiful hue if turquoise and and a nice place for a picnic.

Was a great little hike. Took about 1.5 hours including picture stops. Some snow today and a bit of mud, but not too bad and still good footing.

quick hike to complete in an hour. take the "more difficult" route for a more scenic hike and awesome gain elevation near the waterfall to the top. i would recommend you come back the way you came vs doing the "easy" route back down; it's boring but understandably save for those that need a level way to walk. beautiful view of canmore. don't forget to carry your bear spray. :D

Very easy hike- great for a family with small kids!

Definitely not a hike, rather a walk to a view point of Morraine Lake. Great views from the top of the lake and surrounding mountains (though we went today 9/13 and there was heavy snow and limited visibility so the view was very obstructed). Parking is extremely limited and unless you get there early will need to park elsewhere and take a shuttle (for a fee I believe) or be part of a tour group. The one huge drawback (other than lack of parking) is the large number of tour groups that show up and inundate the trail and view points. To me really takes away from the beauty of the place when are trying to enjoy it and people are jostling to get past you to take their millions of selfies. It seems that many would rather take pictures of themselves there then taking in the beauty of it all.

great hike! great view :) on a snowy day

Beautiful easy hike. It could get pretty crowded so just make sure you get there early so you can actually enjoy it

The view from the top is of course spectacular, but this is not a hike. Just a short climb up a series of rock staircases.

Absolutely amazing hike- one of my favourites! The hike up to the top of the ridge is quite steep, but very worth it. Views from the top are spectacular! Try and arrive early, as the parking lot fills up quickly. Completed the hike in approx 5 hours, with a 45 min break at the top.

A fairly quick (1-1.5 hours at a casual pace) hike with some great views of the Bow Valley to the East and West (including the town of Banff). Certainly can be done by people of all ages and abilities, but there are some steeper sections could tire some people out that are not in great shape so would recommend going slow if you are fairly new to hiking. Experienced hikers and those in good shape can get up pretty quickly and as some have mentioned there are usually some people running the trail. Some of the best views are on the way up especially to the East side of the mountain over the Banff Springs Golf Course and Rundle Mountain.

Absolutely stunning. Ridge hike is challenging and very steep, you may need to slide on your butt in a few parts on your way down! However , so worth it to see the views at the top ❤️

Stunning lakes! Quick and easy hike :)

A moderate hike with so much beautiful views, especially in September.
I did it yesterday, 9th of September.
