Amazing reward at the end of the hike.

great waterfall right off the road

Hike along water almost the entire way! Beautiful!!

loved the trail, rough at times, some of the best scenery I have I have ever seen.looking forward to going back now that it has rained so I can see the waterfalls.

First time here on Jan 1. The falls and river after heavy rains, bouldering, and climb to the rim exceeded expectations. Old mining town ruins were an unexpected bonus. Will definitely be back.

Nice and relatively easy hike. Great views almost the whole way, especially in winter. Also, I saw a woman with a cat in a backpack. It even had it’s own little plastic bubble to look out of.

New Year’s Day 2019 first day hike great hike falls worth the hike

This is a great trail especially when the water is up. Watching the kayakers on the way up. Some technical up to the falls. Simply beautiful

One of the best in the SE!

Hiked this on January 5th.
60 degrees, beautiful hike. Lots of water falls due to the abundance of rain we've had. River was swollen and raging. Very cool hike. We'll be back for sure. Easy hiking.

Great spot off the road. Came after some big rains in the area, so the falls were flowing big time.

Great hike anytime of the year. The trail follows the creek the majority of the time adding to the beauty of the trail. I have hiked to Laurel Falls countless times both from the Hampton and Dennis Cove trail heads. I can't say that one path is better than the other. Both have their unique beauty in the journey. The Dennis Cove approach is about half the distance. If I am short on time I usually take that route. The "Death Stairs", as some hikers call them, will give you a workout. The Hampton approach is longer but an easy hike for the experienced hiker. I would take caution if the water level is high. There is a section on the Hampton approach that narrowly follows along the creek. I have never had problems there, but it is good practice to be cautious and ready to turn around if water levels are covering the trail. Some beginners may find this trail challenging with one large climb and the narrow portion of the trail right next to the creek is a bit technical hiking over the rocks. For experienced hikers though, this is very easy. No matter what your experience level it is very enjoyable and may become one of your favorite hikes!

Absolutely Beautiful and easy to explore. We have gone here for years and now that they've made it an actual park, it's so easy to hike . I highly recommend it .

We hiked this trail on Christmas Eve 2018 and had the trail all to ourselves. Sunny with the bluest of skies, couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! Gorgoues view of the TN River along the way.

Amazing view

We did this hike as an overnight backpacking trip and really enjoyed it. It was challenging especially in the areas where you had to scramble over the rocks. Had a little difficulty following the trail markings at times. Beautiful park!

Beautiful! Wear a good pair of hiking boots or shoes to get to the bottom and back as it’s slippery. Sadly no pictures documenting my sister falling on her a**, but this occurred and was the result of poor footwear ;)

Alternatively, the hike to the top is very short and flat.

awesome trail with amazing views. steep start going down some rugged stairs but otherwise perfect trail to get your heart pumping and falling in love with the overlooks around the Tennessee river

awesome trail with amazing views. a must do hike for anyone visiting or living in Chatt-town

What a gem! Finally made our way over. It's got the best of everything - creekside trail, nice switchbacks, history, waterfalls and bridges...went out on a nice cold rainy day so my boyfriend and dog and I had the whole place to ourselves. Watch for the sharp turn right up away from the river - if you get to the little dam you've gone too far. Didn't realize the trail continued after Laurel Falls but the rocks were slippery enough to make us forget. Beautiful tall fall! Hiked our way up the ridge towards Snow Falls but had to turn back as we were fighting daylight. Finally made it back to the car before pitch black only to realize we were locked in. Guy who let us out said to be careful after dark as there is supposedly a momma panther and two cubs back in there. We didn't hear or see anything thankfully...Some nice campsites along the way! Can't wait to go back. I'd bring some trekking poles and snacks and a headlight in case you get drawn into hiking farther than you planned!

Great hike, little toasty this time of yr but still a great hike.

The view from Buzzards Point off Snow trail is breath taking.

I hiked this with my dog yesterday and went in the reverse direction from what was described above (I started at the visitor center). That direction is more challenging with some steeper climbs that are difficult rather than moderate. I was disappointed that there were not any scenic view points, but it was a gray sky day so I probably wasn't missing much. There were plenty of stream crossings so I didn't need to carry water for my dog. The hike was good exercise at least.

Very easy to get to top of Falls. Wish we’d had time to hike to the bottom. Will definitely be coming back for this!

Great trail. Fairly challenging. Started on Old Mac North to Chimney Rock for 11.2 miles. Only complaint was that Chimney Rock was poorly marked in some areas.

Nice hike the overlooking is an easy trail, going to base of the falls is rocky and like rock climbing, but good if you are geared for hiking and using hiking boots , it will give you stability as rocks are uneven and leaves are slippery. It is breathtaking and worth it hike.
