enjoyed this hike today. the longer leg is all downhill on the way out, so the way back gets your heart pumping. it’s a well maintained, wide dirt path; less like a trail and more like a service road. almost no shade except for a few large trees that would make for nice picnic spots. not technical or challenging at all, but the views are pretty stunning.

A great hike, with hard terrain and amazing views of LA at the top. Gets crowded on weekends, but there’s always street parking on Sunset. A local staple.

Great hike. If you follow signs you won’t get lost and if you get off track, jus explore a new place. This is a nice hike for early morning. No bikes allowed in the trail, which is great. As the afternoon approaches you will encounter horseback riders, just remember they have the right-of-way. Enjoy.

All trails are closed to the public due to “unsafe conditions” ): We will be back to try this trail soon!

I enjoy my walks in this hiking trails n also beautiful view n so relaxing✨✨✨

Take the 2nd trail from the left (Hectic Trail) if you want 35 minutes of constant climb. Loved it. View of Catalina island awaits you at the end. I am hooked.

Nice hike to start the day. Gets crowded around 8a on weekends. Go earlier if you want more alone time. I’d recommend this hike and will definitely do it again soon.

Really great views, relaxing hike with the dog. Limited parking, but trail wasn’t too crowded. No shade. Trail map showed a loop we couldn’t find, but maybe the trail washed out or something.

Closer to Easy than Moderate, this loop offers a gorgeous view of the Los Angeles Basin on a clear day.

Wouldn’t call it a hike, more like a walk up to a nice view of the coast. Great for rock climbing at all levels though, from the 60ft vertical straight up with virtually nothing but small finger holes to the 30ft with terrain you could scramble on without a harness. There is also anchors at the top.

Fine neighborhood walk. Met a lot of nice people. It rained yesterday and there were big puddles at the higher elevations - my dog loved them.

God forbid there happens to be a single drop of rain. They close the trail?!?! Seriously?

LOST kid's retainer. If seen/found, please post to let us know here. Otherwise, it was a great hike - beautiful views in all directions, especially of los angeles and ocean. Some puddles but nothing you can't easily step over/around.

Nice local hike in LA with good views.

Creds: AllTrails Pro for accurate GPS real time location and mileage. 7.3 mi. 1,260’ El Gain. Went clockwise for both loops. First loop trail closed half way through, had to back track / go around (reason why mileage more then 5.7 planned).

Aside from closed section, rest of trails in great condition.

3 stars for terrible parking. Park only has slots for about 10 cars. Street parking ‘permit only’. Easy to miss. So I pay $1,000 dollars in city taxes a year to live here and people who live right next to park managed to get rid of public parking on this wide street I helped pay for. Wow. Amazing to me people buy a house next to park entrance and get upset when people park there?!?!

Beautiful hike with gorgeous views of Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, and lots of whales.

I did this hike before the fires and really loved it

Small little hike with beautiful ocean views. Happy we could bring our dog on the trail, but unfortunately couldn’t take him on the beach.

Amazing hike but the beginning uphill part is a lot longer than everyone below states. The whole out portion is majority uphill. Incredible views at the end made it worth it. It also averages at about 6 miles from the starting point this sets you at just FYI. We took a couple side routes to look out points that contributed to that

fun trail to hike solo or with the dog(s). Couple of things to note- not much shade and can be pretty rocky. Be sure to bring plenty of water and if an older dog consider their paws/joints. overall a lovely hike with great ocean views

Why do the stairs at the gym if you have this option?! Fresh air and beautiful views! Steep stairs to the top. Great leg work out!

Came here on Dec 30th around 11:30am and it was easy to find parking on the residential area. Maybe it was because of the holidays that parking was easy to find. The trail was easy to find. It was a clear paved path the entire way up and down. You start off with a slight incline and keep working your way up. The incline is nothing too crazy anyone can do it, just keep at your steady pace and breathe. The trail will continue to incline and about .5 miles in flattens out. The view at the top is beautiful and coming back down you get the entire city and ocean view. Definitely would come back again!

Hiked all the way down . So hiking back up was the challenge. We had to do this to get the full experience rather than just doing the 2.7 miles. Overall it was a very good one. There are two toilets only and gross! so make sure you have unloaded before you start

Great accessible hikes with many options

Very easy walk paths with a couple of tangents to the rocky beach. The lighthouse is only open to the public on the 2nd Saturday of the month, if you plan to visit inside. Great trail for dogs (on 6ft max leash) as there is a water fountain at the half way point

Short and crowded. A nice walk if you happened upon it accidentally; not worth going out of your way for.

This trail is closed due to the Woolsey Fire. Theres a pretty beach across the street that I went to instead.

Easy access. Great quick walk with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and LA.
