The Ribble Way follows the river throughout England, passing by beautiful scenery, pubs, and historic sites. Sections throughout the Ribble Way allows one to experience the vastness of England and the sights within the country side. Not only that but you will be encountering many livestock, birds, and wildlife. Gladys Sellers in her guide book written in 1985 describes these sections as ‘..the finest part of the Ribble Way. Sometimes the path goes close to the riverbank, sometimes it climbs quite steeply above it through the woods, sometimes through islands of pasture. Always it is utterly unspoilt, peaceful and serene as the river flows in a deep cut valley remote from the rest of the world.’ The Ribble Way is a through trail.
