Beautiful scenery with wetlands, cliffs, streams, brush, etc. entirely paved and smooth, well maintained trail that is wide enough for two cyclists side by side. Rode on a Friday morning so not too many people out here and mostly walkers and a few cyclists. Cool ocean air temps and shady sunshine made perfect weather. Mild inclines yet steady, subtle climbing. Spots to stop and rest or stretch and snack. We missed the signs and got off the Back Bay trail and ended up on the San Diego trail by accident.
At the end we had biked a total of 21 miles.
Keep an eye on the signs so you stay on the correct loop trail. Have fun. Ring bell when approaching others from behind.

This was a nice trail and also a plus that it is dog friendly. It is a quick loop and fun to do if you want to get a quick hike in.

Great kid friendly hike. This is one of those hikes I like to do when I don't have a lot of time but still want to get out of the house and be with nature.

Great place for a run. Lots of space interesting routes to take with a dog. No amazing views or points of interest so I’d say this is best if you need to exercise and just stroll with friends

Perfect place for a run

Great little starter route for my daughter and I.

Relaxing nice trail

Loved it beautiful

I think the recent rain really caused some damage to the trail. Tons of mini crevices and canyons where water made its' way downhill. Gorgeous views and spacious trail, though. Can't wait to go back.

Nice, brisk walk around the loop. Not much around and it's pretty much dead vegetation most of the year but there are some birds. It's ok for begginers or just a power walk.

It's basically a neighborhood trail, but it's secluded enough for a nice walk in the outdoors. Surrounded by beautiful trees and very nice houses. Offers a dirt path and cement path for both bikers and hikers. I like to bike there, and I've never had trouble with crowds because it's big enough to accommodate everybody. On one end, it connects to the Peters Canyon Side Trail and on the other end connects to Jeffrey Trail.

Nice little quick walk if you’re looking to stretch your legs and see a little bit of a view. I try to do this loop at least once a week.

It’s easy and a very fun trail.

This is a very popular and scenic stroll around the "big" island as well as the "little" island that make up Balboa Island, all with views of the harbor and sand on one side, with boats and paddle boarders and other things to watch, and the homes on the other. In the summer, and on vacation weekends, it can be very crowded and only good for strolling, but lots of fun nevertheless. But on the off season or early mornings it is good for some beautiful power walking or running.

Nice hike, and my advice is to go up first because it makes the part through the creek so sweet.

Very nice easy trail. Restrooms at the interpretive center. Mostly paved except the dirt side trails.

I LOVE THAT YOU CAN BRING DOGS WITH YOU

I had a difficult time finding the entrance to this ‘trail’ tucked in behind a marina. This trail is a paved blacktop road suitable for biking walking or running. The scenery is beautiful, but there is not much shade. Safe place to run, with beautiful views and no traffic.

Grew up here running and biking this trail. It is almost always beautiful, and is very fast terrain good for longer training runs. Sunset is the best time to go.

It’s quick, all uphill but it’s a clean workout. Grip running shoes are better but I had some simple athletic training shoes on and did fine.

Love this place, beat dog beach.

Nice little lunch time hike. I like going to the right for one full loop, then going back up the left side until it gets down to the lowest part then turn around again to get 3 uphill portions. Only way to get the heart rate up in my opinion.

This was the first "trail" that I every went mountain biking on. Up to the side of the gravel is a small ridge that is good to ride on. If you are a kid that wants to try out biking while not going too far from home, and also not venturing onto steep hills then this is the trail for you. For running though I do like this because it isn't a track and it is close to a 5k.

Great for those looking for a sand/dirt track that’s easy on the knees. Secluded and does not cross any major streets through the help of tunnels under bridges.

Besides the noise it’s a fun adventure.

Easy walk. You’ll see some horses as you walk.

Amazing easy trail with great views!

This is a funny trail. Starts with a park, then bunch of stairs so you feel like you’re more on a masochistic walk than a hike, but eventually you get on a trail that leads up the mountain, and then it’s hiking again. Nice climb, pretty 360-degree view of the city from the top.
