Tough, unforgiving terrain at times (walked in Feb). Paths are very steep at times, very exposed at the top of the ridge and unsteady. However the views, memorial and waterfalls make it worthwhile. Loved it!!
Great trail. Very wet and slippy but we got a good December day for it.
A foot deep in snow, this walk is a delight. The energetic uphill at the start is rewarded with a beautiful horseshoe descent. Best ‘til last; the waterfalls are amazing. Cannot fault it.
Beautiful, had a bit of everything! Like some people have said the trail is a little difficult to follow in places, but just aim for high ground in the general direction & it all works itself out!
We did this hike in just over 2.5 hours. Amazing views and then dips down to a short woodland section. We did the walk in Autumn and the colors were amazing. You need to be able bodied to do this hike. There are a couple of very steep sections. The Wellington Bomber wreckage was amazing to see. There is a large car park at the trailhead.
Strenuous but good paths along the way and amazing waterfalls!
stunning! such a varied trail.
The trail was amazing! Was really difficult but well worth it, the views were incredible from Pen Y Fan! Highly recommend this one!
This walk was amazing, we kind of made it up as we went along, but it was so enjoyable, we had to add it as our first contribution to AllTrails. If you're in the area of Talybont and fancy a challenging, but enjoyable walk that takes you up mountains, along ridges, down rivers, past waterfalls, through forest and along a reservoir, this is this walk for you!
Didn’t follow this trail fully as was rather long & we got lost. Parked by the reservoir entry, post code: LD37YS. It’s very small and was full, parked on a patch of grass opposite it. Can walk through the gate by the car park and check the reservoir out, which is lovely and serine. If you walk across there’s 2 clear walks, one straight ahead steep upward walk and then to the left a proper path. We got lost a fair bit, this is not an easy walk, very steep in areas. Very beautiful, we got really good weather. Random steams etc throughout. As I say got lost and didn’t follow the route, even still walked for 5 hours. Also internet is very very patchy.
Lovely walk. Parked in national trust car park. Walked on nearby trail and joined the route about 2k into it. Next time I would stick to route though. Started at 915 and car park was empty.
Really lovely walk. Stunning view around every corner. the track was pretty good. quite boggy in places. I imagine it would be pretty muddy Autumn / winter.
Trail difficult to follow in places so went a bit off course, but overall good route with nice views
