Very easy walk to the aquarium and back. Got on the pier next to the Lexington. Pretty sunny day!
Beautiful stroll down the beach. Concrete walkway. Saw some dolphins playing, the USS Lexington, and lots of birds. Be prepared to pay for parking.

Walked beach are and saw USS Lexington and Texas State Aquarium. Some construction, but found parking early. Bring water and cap or hat. Had good time.
Schanen Hike and Bike Trail which runs from Yorktown and Saratoga Boulevards along the Schanen storm waterway is over a mile long gravel and concrete trail that connects Snead, Whales, Cedar Ridge, and Breckenridge Parks along its route.
gmj route from home
Wide, flat, paved walkway directly along the beach at North Beach. Lots of shorebirds! You pass beaches, condos, hotels and the USS Lexington. The Texas State Aquarium is at south end.
Paved trail through a wooded park. Nice addition to the area. Adjacent to a small lake and some historic markers to tell the history of the area
Great camping spot on the beach. A little windy but that should be expected for camping on the gulf coast. The water was cool and sand was nice - not rocky, mucky, or seaweed-y like lots of beaches more north.
No bike trails in this park. It is a beach park with paved roads going through the campground and a lot of beach to explore and enjoy
