Fabulous day breathing fresh air and hiking with the family. A little wet and muddy but worth it!

My wife and I enjoyed the hike. The trail was fairly easy and scenic, with exception to a couple spots you need to be careful.

I'm guessing the hard rating is referring to biking it? no portion of the trail I saw was hard. It's a easy walk. I was looking for a workout not a stroll in the park. I ended the hike early after 2 miles. figured a treadmill was more beneficial to get my incline thrive.

Few hills, although got lost several times the gps is not very accurate, trail is a bit confusing

Finally made it here! We were so captivated by the pool views, we didn't get to do the mile hike. Next time!

Love it!!!

Excellent family hike with kids. If it's hot, there's a great swimming hole.

Beautiful hike. The entire hike you’re hiking next to a stream/ creek. The trail is maintained- Thankfully everyone cleans up after themselves. I did not see any litter. We went late November and all the leaves have dropped. Still breathtaking. Lot of exposed roots along the hike.

Not too technical. The sounds of falling water are so peaceful. Not too busy in November.

Easy, scenic trail

Very pretty trail, watch your steps with rocks and stumps. Overall easy trail

Just after the rain! An excellent trail!

This is Lake Catherine State Park's most popular trail. I hiked it on September 15 thinking I'd have it to myself due to the high heat and humidity. Not to be. There were MANY people out and about on this trail. It was very beautiful and the creek waters were crystal clear! I loved this short hike immensely. The suspension bridge was fun and the falls were flowing. I saw a snake and lots of pretty things.

Wow! What a gorgeous hike! Prepare for protruding roots, steep rocks, and absolute beauty!

Really pretty, would be stunning in the fall with the color change. I don’t think I would have rated this as easy, there are some steep areas that you do have to watch your footing with. My parents, dog, and I enjoyed it and it got our heart rate up. The falls weren’t full at all but it hadn’t rained in a while.

Nice trail, completed Labor Day with my dog. There are a few challenging, rocky spots but not too bad. It is the most popular trail at the park, so quite a few people. The falls were pretty non existent due to no rain this summer but still a nice spot. If the falls are all you’re interested in, take a left at the trailhead and go clockwise- it’s much shorter.

To all you hikers that keep complaining, take a minute to think who maintains the trail.. (DORBA).
(YES, IT COSTS BOTH MONEY TO BUY TOOLS AND LOTS OF VOLUNTEER HOURS TO KEEP THE TRAILS TIDY)
Then take another minute to figure out what does that mean. Hikers are more than welcome. but please no matter the park you go to. always stop at the trailhead and READ THE RULES!!!
most trails will ask hikers to go in the oposite direction so you can spot bikers from a distance and move aside.
thank you all for understanding.
have a great day!!

My best friend and I came here during the week in the heat of the July summer. We were disappointed we were not able to swim, but the beauty of this place is worth exploring. The drive in from either Austin or Marble falls is peaceful with lots of scenery. The park attendants are friendly and informative.

If you have any health risks, I wouldn’t recommend this hike for you. Also, bring extra water in the hotter months.

We went mid-May and it was perfect! Beautiful trail and great for the entire family. The water was a bit cold to swim in, but that didn’t defer the kids!!

Nice hiking trail for 20 min outside dallas. Mostly shaded which was nice. Rocky so I had to put boots on my dog. Can’t complain otherwise! Very little bike traffic although I came out on a weekday during the day.

Some steep inclines and rocky climbs but great! Benches along the way right after long stretches are nice. The waterfall wasn’t running because it’s super hot and dry in July, but the water felt nice.

Go for the pool, but don’t skip the hike!

We didn’t get to see the fall which was disappointing but the trail it self was beautiful! We hike a lot and this trail was shorter than most but I would say it’s pretty moderate not easy. My dog loved the lake at the end!
