tons of traffic for the first half (especially if you go through jenny lake) but once you get past inspiration point it thins out. (sidenote: saw 2 moose and a bear so make sure to look out)

I was here in July. Started from Jenny Lake up to Inspiration Point; continued going from there and was on the trail. Crowds immediately dwindled at that point. This was my favorite trail in The Tetons. It is simply stunning. Incredible views, wildflowers, river, and so peaceful. We did not get to make it competely to the end due to a moose we were warned about by hikers who had turned back. Absolutely must hike this.

Easily one of the most breathtaking trails I’ve ever had the pleasure of hiking. Views in every direction. Ferry was shut down so added an extra few miles to the trek, but walking around the lake was a treat in itself. Saw a bunch of moose too!

We started from Jenny Lake and hiked around until we got to the trail head 2 mi away. Cascades Canyon is my favorite hike ever! I have hiked in Glacier NP and the Grand Canyon and nothing quite beats these mountains. The views were amazing and the terrain wasn’t too rough. We really wanted to make it up to Solitude Lake but we started too late in the day and would be hiking in the dark. It took us about 4 hours to complete. It was very cool temp wise so pack a thin pullover. Beautiful hike!!!

HikingGreat!Snow

The snow from last Saturday has covered the entire canyon with about two feet of snow making for a beautiful (albeit more difficult) hike. There’s a nice boot pack from String Lake to Inspiration Point at the moment making the start of the hike much easier. I had to trail blaze in untouched snow the rest of the way up the canyon which considerably slowed my progress and forced be to turn around at the north/south junction instead of making it to Lake Solitude. I spotted what looked like Moose and Grizzly prints in the untouched snow but only ran into a dozen or so deer along the way

If you go to Teton National Park, this is a must do hike! You really get to get back into the canyon of the Tetons which is just jaw dropping. Must check out! Lots of wildlife including moose. Can’t recommend enough!

Great trail. Started off at the string lake parking lot, went up to inspiration point and headed into the canyon. Went all the way to the fork. Great views. Saw 4 bull moose on the trail.

Exceeded my expectations, very beautiful fall colors coupled by the snow peaks. Parked at where google map led me to and walked into the canyon from Jenny lake passing the inspiration point, very scenery all along.

Beautiful trail! Lots of things to see. Waterfalls, rivers, Mountain View’s and wildlife if your lucky. There were lots of people even on a Wednesday morning, for sure heavily trafficked. I recommend to park at the string lake parking lot. You’ll hike for around 2 miles until you reach the beginning of the trail!

Incredible. Cold out but totally worth it for the views of the Tetons. Easy to make as long as you want - we turned back at 5 miles.

Weather is super nice for some fall hiking! Views are great, wildlife are there if you keep an eye open to the sides of the trail.

Did a western trip for 6 weeks going all over and this trail was one of the top ones. The views in the valley are actually breath taking. Saw multiple Moses along the trail which was fantastic as well. Easy grade as well.

Top 3 hikes I’ve done in my entire life because it just so happened to be snowing lightly while we were surrounded by fall colors on the trail. There weren’t many people around and it felt magical. Conditions and weather are always changing, but I’m sure this is a breathtaking hike even with green trees on a clear day. Saw a black bear cub, a bull moose, two cow moose, a pika and a pika.

Due to the Jenny Lake boat season being closed, park in the string lake trail head parking lot and start your journey there. We had some incredible views of Jenny Lake before getting to the Cascade Canyon trail head. There was a push uphill at the start of the Cascade Canyon portion, but once you get up to the canyon, it is flat for the most part. Absolutely incredible views of the mountains. It had just snowed so the snowy peaks were gorgeous. Saw three moose. One of the best hikes I have ever been on.

First time in the Tetons. We trekked around Jenny Lake and then made it through most of the canyon then back. The early foliage, blue skies, and constant wildlife sightings made this spectacular.

BEAUTIFUL HIKE! we saw a family of moose with stunning views of the mountain. Our only complaint is the AllTrails app has you park 6 miles before the trail head at Jenny lake overlook. There are definitely closer lots (we hiked right by them) so take a look around before heading this way! If you do park here, maybe go left from the parking lot rather than taking a right!

Amazing hike! We camped at the south cascade camp ground for two nights. The views don’t get any better. We ran into four foxes and a moose family resting 50 feet from the trail. Highly recommend this hike for anyone in at least moderate physical shape.

Perhaps the best hike I’ve ever been on. Incredible views throughout. Wild life abundant. Multiple moose sightings including a fully mature bull 10 feet ahead of us on the trail. Add in the leaves changing color seemingly in front of our eyes on a pristine fall day makes this trail hard to top.
