Probably would’ve given this 4 stars if it weren’t for the crowds. The trail is short and easy, so it’s hard to spread out from others, especially at the end. The trail is very pretty though, although we found the trail 7-8 miles before it off the road to be nicer just in terms of serenity as well the rainforest type scenery (the name escapes me).

This is such a beautiful area. We loved wandering through the rainforest with our three kids: 6,4,2

easy short hike to beautiful falls, the mosquitos/flys were bad (use bug repellent or where long sleeves.) this is a very well maintained, very trafficked trail. visited during a Monday afternoon at the end of July and the trail / parking lot were packed.

One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever been on! It’s a pretty easy hike to the falls. We were hoping to get married in front of the falls, but when we got there to check out the location around the end of June it was very very wet and muddy.

My family and I took a hike down the Sul Doc Falls trail in mid-June. It was about 45 degrees and a light sprinkle most of the way. In other words, it was PERFECT! It was exactly like I would expect a rain forest to be. Everything is covered with some type of green vegetation. The trail itself is definitely not difficult at all, and the falls is a beautiful sight at the end. Other trails continue past the falls into the forest. I wish we could have continued, but my wife definitely would not go for that as she does not like the "cold". Anyway, if you like easy but beautiful hikes, this is one to take!

Beautiful trail! Follow the yellow markers.

Caught the sunrise from here, it's pretty spectacular. Views pretty much all the way up. A good half of the path is not well maintained but that's likely from how few traffic through (I was the only one on the trail during my hike). The mountain is a good climb for novice and intermediate climbers, I simply went up with a water bladder, my phone, and a flashlight. A good amount of wildlife can be spotted, too!

Hiking with kids - slide area about 1.5 into hike is not recommended. Dock near parking area just past trailhead great for a quick dip- bring suits and towels.

Awesome hike and falls where well worth it! My 3&4 year olds crushed it with no problem ( was our second hike of the day too) only down side is a lot of people on the trail and parking was very limited

Fantastic. Excellent short and easy trail to a stunning powerful waterfall. Beautiful hike through the forest leading to the waterfall.

Easy trail with a beautiful waterfall at the end. Slightly crowded.

Easy trail with an impressive waterfall at the end. You'll definitely want your camera to capture the beauty of the path and the falls. We walked past the falls a bit to see more of the little river upstream. It's a great area to settle in and do some meditation and get your nature on!

My husband and I just hiked this trail today. We wanted to hike hurricane hill but unfortunately it was closed. So we figured we should do another hike in the vicinity since getting up to hurricane ridge took so long due to construction on the main park road. We felt like we went up and down 3 small mountains/hills to get to what didn’t even feel like the summit. We did see a mom and baby mountain goat (so cool!) but besides that felt like the hike was just meh. Also we keep seeing the hike labelled as 2.5 miles and we were confused because we definitely hiked more than that. We were going to settle for it just being an unfortunate hike until downloading this app and reading the comment that says we were supposed to veer LEFT at the arrow “trail” sign when we in fact went RIGHT because we saw people in front of us heading that direction (it seemed like the arrow was pointing that way). Now I feel dumb and annoyed. Oh well. Everyone else: stay left at the unclear arrow sign if you want mount Angeles!

Fantastic trail. Great for a two day trip, one day out, one day back with some time to explore in between travelling to/from the camp ground at Rampart Ponds. Be prepared for a steep uphill climb at the beginning. After the initial slog uphill, you're treated to a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Once you're past Elfin Lake the traffic will die down a lot. And you'll be treated to some great valley views before you get to Rampart Ponds, as well as a beautiful alpine lake that will probably have snow/ice still as it did in August when we hiked it. To get to Mamquam Lake you must trek downhill past Rampart Ponds. It's worth noting that the bugs get bad once you reach Rampart Ponds and continue on your trek to Mamquam. Also be ready to walk through some snow, as it is still there in August. If you get to a part of the trail and it looks washed out, look straight ahead and find the pink marking tape to guide onto the path. Do no follow the washed out section down into the valley. But if you do, simply follow the stacks of rocks until you are back on the trail. Be prepared to stake your tent/rainfly into gravel as that is what the tent pads are made from. Overall, could not be happier with this trail.

Lovely little spot to walk. There is no way this should be labelled as "moderate". Moderate hikes are a bit of a challenge for me. This place is one of the easier trails.

Easy and rewarding trail. Falls are a cool 3 horse tail falls. We continued on for a bit to love rd s lane trail, which was pretty. Though pretty much everything in that part of the world is.

Fun hike and great falls! It's easy too!

By far my favorite day in ONP! These falls are a site to see. Don’t miss this one!

DO NOT go in through the correctional facility. That is the property of the facility and I did have a guard waiting for me back at my car. He said there is an actual entrance for the State Forest from further south, but he was nice about it otherwise.
There are also a lot of signs along the length of the trail stating it's private property, so I don't know when it becomes trespassing

Short hike to the falls, but beautiful and well worth it!

Short trail, good for all level of hikers.

Although many may go for the view of the falls at the end, don't forget to take in the views on the way there. There are alot of neat sights to see such as the trees and moss on your way to the falls. I would consider this trail heavily trafficked.

to short but beautiful

Some steep switch backs and slide area that needs to be crossed. But good hike and well maintained trails, beside the slide area.

The short trip is so worth the beauty but it does have its difficulty for those less experienced or out of shape. I did see people with their kids though. Views can be spectacular even if you know that the main attraction is a bridge over a waterfall. It still ends up being so much more.

Fantastic. Water was really flowing after the rain. Keep going after the roped falls (where you climb behind the waterfall) and there is one final waterfall about another 300m further along. Count on having to walk in the river though (early June).

Super easy and a great view
