Just a nice little hike with steps thrown in, but you can walk right out on top of Falls, so watch you children.

Great hike, great views, best hike in the smokeys. It is straight uphill so you want to be in decent shape to be able to do this. It is also very crowded through the Summer. If you can get a cabin up at LeConte Lodge, it's very pleasant and relaxing.

Went through Stone Door into the gorge. Very rocky, but once down there, wildflowers were everywhere! Beautiful The bolder filled creek was dry, but hiked to a Ranger falls anyway. It was running great, with a small rainbow at bottom. It goes underground, that’s why you see no water in creek bed. Going on along BCG Trail, I came upon another smaller waterfall. It also runs back underground, as does Big Creek, which you will see for the remainder of the hike out of gorge. Very rocky climb out to the rim. Rim trail has a few nice overlooks. I would rate this moderate, with steep climb at end. Don’t wear flip-flops!!

Fun little day hike with nice views

One of the best one day hikes I have taken. Came out a little over ten miles on my calculation. The slope goes up but never too steep. When you get to Alum Cave, turn around, the view is from the cave not into the cave.

This is a beautiful hike with awe inspiring views. We hiked it on 3/15 and encountered some icy spots along the way. Micro spikes would have been helpful at times, but with some slow and careful stepping we made it without too much difficulty.

beautiful trail, well maintained, Rangers were very friendly. We planned to hike the loop but we're caught up admiring the falls , looking forward to returning to finish the trail

it is a trail that is very well marked and it would almost be impossible to get lost. The Welch's Point Overlook is an unbelievable view of Scott's Gulf. Interesting variety of scenery!

Great place for a hammock and oh what a beautiful plunge type waterfall

A short trip down steps to the falls. A good warm up for the other trails.

Beautiful views, considerable elevation gains and descent. Tricky footing in some places over rocky trails especially when climbing or decending on the gulf. Take the extra .8 miles to see Ranger falls!

A short easy trek to the stone door. Beautiful views from just above the stone door. Suitable for kids, dogs and beginning hikers.

Beautiful!! The rough terrain of the hike made it exciting just to short of a hike. The rocks varying in size on the trail can make it little difficult. Waterfall was cool!!!

We came into the park from 399. The ranger at the ranger station was very polite and friendly to our kids. We hiked to the falls and back out. About 3 miles round trip. There were other people hiking some with dogs but everyone was friendly. Trail was clearly defined and had markers every 50 ft or so. We plan to go back and hike further.

This is an easy hike with some steps/stairs. It's a small waterfall but still pretty. It's a great addition when you hike to the Stone Door.

The views are amazing in the spring and fall! The hike is not difficult, and the paths are well-kept.

Great hike with fantastic views! Be sure to start early in the morning so you are able to catch the sun rise over the mountains and avoid unwanted traffic on the trail.

We hiked to Mt. LeConte during airlift operations and once we reached the top we were able to watch a helicopter deliver personal belongings of those staying in the cabins up there. However, given that airlift operations were taking place, Mt. LeConte lodge was closed to visitors and we were unable to purchase merchandise there.

Absolutely amazing hike. I went counter clockwise at the trail entrance and did the stairs first down to the waterfall and was happy someone suggested this. I was glad I took my trekking pole to assist me on the slippery rocks when walking in the water and climbing up into the waterfall. Wear waterproof shoes and bring extra socks! I picnicked up right next to the waterfall, it was beautiful. Be sure to follow the white paint on the trees to stay on the trail to the waterfall, anything with two colors together; means it’s a joining trail and not necessarily headed towards the waterfall.

Great trail. My wife loved it. We had fun and great views.

My group finished this trail in roughly 4 hours. We took it easy and enjoyed the view along the way. Absolutely my favorite in Smokies so far. First mile wasn’t that hard. Ice covered stairs in some parts and falling ice made it little bit scary. The view at the bluff is stunning. We didnt make it to the last 2 miles to mount Le Conte. I do want to go back and finish it one day. We all love this trail, hard but totally worth our effort.

easy hike to an awesome overlook.

enjoyed this late winter hike but let the tick season begin. found two even after liberal application of Deet.

Amazing hike today. Views are unbelievable. Steady incline most of the way but well work the effort.

Defiantly on my top ten list!

Beautiful views and rock features with a nice stream to start. I climbed in March and made it about 0.5 mile past the bluff. I have a healthy fear of falling and one ledge was solid ice. Even with the metal rope hold it was too much for me. The path was icy after and I only had on trail runners, no spikes, so I called it quits. I saw a lot of young people hiking in regular sneakers. I’d highly advise against this and recommend spikes for cold months. Also carry lighting in case you don’t make it back before dark. If there are icicles at the bluff do NOT stop under them. They will fall and the large ones have the capability to seriously injure people. Looking up isn’t safer. Just put your head down and run under the bluff.

Great short hike! You do have to cross water at times, so wear water proof shoes or bring extra socks!

Beautiful waterfall and very nice ranger at the trailhead. Very easy hike for kids and pets!

Hiked this a few days ago it was beautiful. The waterfalls were peaceful. Rattlesnake Point was incredible, I’ll never forget that view. The beginning of the hike is a bit slow but well worth it.

Need to work up to this one! Much harder than I anticipated, granted it was also day 3 of hiking around the smokey's. I only made it about .5 miles past Arch Rock. Will definitely be attempting again!
