beautiful. total seclusion. a must hike.

Nice peaceful hike. Not a whole lot of views after the falls at the start, but pretty nonetheless.

Absolutely gorgeous if you go all the way to the falls

Very worth it! Not terribly hard, but very rocky so you have to watch your feet.

Beautiful falls. Pretty easy hike, not too crowded.

I love this area! This trail is perfect for those who haven't hiked in a while. Waterfalls, views, swinging bridges. Apparently there was a tornado in early November and the trail suffered a lot of damage. It's clear now but one should use caution. There are broken branches and whole trees leaning and hanging overhead. We heard a loud crack and watched a large limb come crashing down right in front of us. They've also had rain which has left some parts of the trail submerged. Not too deep but plan on getting wet feet. The rain has also increased the flow at the falls, it's pretty spectacular. Right below the falls is a good place to take a break, we stopped for lunch and enjoyed the view. Rattlesnake Point is breathtaking. Talk about a vista! I expect in the spring and summer it comes by it's name honestly. I'm looking forward to exploring other parts of Savage Gulf State Natural Area.

Trail was well marked and easy to follow. It had rained the day before and there some slick rocks to contend with.

nice hike to the base of the falls, can get crowded

Slippery hike down to Falls- your feet will get wet. But worth every bit of it. It’s gorgeous. A paradise!

Very easy to get to top of Falls. Wish we’d had time to hike to the bottom. Will definitely be coming back for this!

Nice hike the overlooking is an easy trail, going to base of the falls is rocky and like rock climbing, but good if you are geared for hiking and using hiking boots , it will give you stability as rocks are uneven and leaves are slippery. It is breathtaking and worth it hike.

Great trail! Variety of terrain. lots of rocks and tree limbs to traverse made it fun. Have to keep your eyes on the trail especially in the fall when the leaves cover

We went in the middle of October the hike wasn’t to bad but the waterfall is totally worth it we’re from Missouri and we had a blast.

This natural area has some of the best waterfall “bang for your buck“ in Tennessee. Located just outside Craborchard Tennessee, there is a small parking area and two trails. One trail, about 100 yards long goes to the top of 110 foot waterfall. You can go straight to the edge and it is beautiful. The other Trail is maybe half a kilometer long, lots of scrambling, that goes to the bottom of the falls. It is a great picture spot and a good swimming hole in the summertime, although the water there is famously cold year around. Note for the editors of this page: the trail description is wrong, it apparently applies to a different Ozone Falls in Arkansas. There is no camping, no cabins, etc. at this location. Just an awesome waterfall.

this is the fourth time I've been to this trail. usually it's great but today the trail was closed due to dangerous conditions and fallen trees from a recent storm. We hiked anyway but encountered many obstacles that forced us off the main trail. We never made it to the falls due to impassable piles of large fallen timber, brush and branches. Heed the warning signs until they finally get the trail cleaned up and cleared again.

Love this trail. Dropped in off of 111 and came out at Big Soddy Gulf. Winding trails follow Board Camp Creek through hardwood, hemlock and pine forests. There is an abundance of mossy and fern areas. The railing on the steps that descend the cliffs is in need of repair. This makes the climb down a little treacherous but overly difficult.

Easy access but a very well kept secret, not a lot of traffic at all and it truly is a beautiful overlook. Perfect located for a picnic or sunrise/sunset hike

This trail was amazing. The overlooks are the best part. Make sure to keep going and go down to Fall Creek Falls to the base of the falls. All of it together makes for a wonderful day.

Beautiful year round.

beautiful in the autumn colors; peaceful in its isolation, almost other-worldly...

No guardrail from the viewing area at the top of the falls!
At the trailhead you go left to view the falls from the top- go right to climb to the bottom. There is no trail running here- it’s all rock scrambling! Really, if you’re not going to climb the rocks to view the falls from the bottom, there’s no point in going!! Ozone is beautiful and definitely worth seeing just take your time and be careful as the mist from the falls creates slippery rocks. You could spend all day climbing and adventuring the back half of the pool and on down stream!
There is parking on the side of the road and across the street.

Very nice hike - fairly easy - just the distance. Waterfall is beautiful as is the overlook. Great walk for someone like me trying to get into shape and get some outdoor time. Was fun!

Started at the Jim Adams Wilderness spur leading to Cumberland Trail. Plenty of parking. Gravel, wide path for biking and hiking. Runs along Gulf and intersects with Bear Creek. Beautiful scenery from rock faces to autumnal colored leaves, waterfalls and swimming holes. Clear, blue to green water. Easy terrain first 2.5 miles, then starts uphill and grassy. Beware of frequent slippery tree roots. Some fallen trees to maneuver around, over, under. Great hike, so picturesque and uncrowded in Fall (sure it is a different story when hot!)

Great waterfalls!

Tough!

Great trail! Even in the snow!

Buggy and lots of dense brush limits visibility

Definitely a good starter hike for anyone, including families. The walk was picturesque and the swinging bridge was particularly a healthy challenge for my kids. We loved hearing the stream, and finding so many kinds of leaves, fungi, rock formations, and bending trees to look at. Yet it was a bit odd to hear a nearby lawnmower as the houses in the area were very close and there were 2 sewer lids. One sign even said (paraphrasing) that there was unfiltered sewage emptying into the stream at one point. That made me feel very uncomfortable. The distance (1.6 miles) is also only for the loop. My oldest used his Fitbit and the entire hike is right at 2.4 miles.
