Loved this hike. We had walked all the way from the bottom of the bridal veil falls which made for a long day but I would still do it again. From the top of the falls you are hiking right along the river that feeds the falls. This river is gorgeous the whole way with plenty of little waterfalls. I went mid July and the wildflowers were breathtaking. Every slope was covered with them and there were plenty of different varieties to look at. Walking up to the lake we didn’t even see it at first because the reflection was so vivid. The lake was pristine and was surrounded by jagged peaks. Also near the top was left over parts from the old mines making for some beautiful pictures.

We drove to the bottom of the switchbacks which is where you would need 4-wheel drive to continue up. The grade of the trail was good because of all the switchbacks. If you don’t plan on continuing your hike once you get to the top of the falls I would suggest you turn around at the lower view point. There is not anything to see at the top of the falls.

A lot of switchbacks down the trails make the trail a perfect grade. The trails was well maintained and had 2 bridges to cross the creek. Towards the bottom of the trail you were walking next to the creek which had numerous waterfalls. At the end you could see where the creek and river meet up and because of the current from the river up into the stream you could jump in. The canyon wall was stunning the entire way. Took my dad and I just over two hours with a break at the bottom

awesome views going down into the valley. hike back up is a bit arduous but not bad. i only encountered one other group. this is one of my favorites so far.

One of the most amazing places I have been!
Hiked this trail on 7/8. Directions took us up West Dallas Creek and we could not access because it was private property. Make sure to use Dallas Creek road and it is easy to get to from there! The first mile/mile and a half is steep, but the rest of the hike is moderate. Get there earlier because it can get hot hiking up to the lake and also serious thunderstorms roll in around 3pm. Saw some people with one bottle of water... its a moderate/hard hike so make sure you bring plenty of water.
The views are SO worth the hike. The third lake is difficult to get to b/c it is a climb, but it is more secluded and absolutely gorgeous. Sat there and watched people summiting Sneffels and climbing the pass. One of the most amazing places I have been!!

Gorgeous views and waterfall with a trailhead right in town. Lots of people and dogs.

This is a beautiful hike. I got elevation sickness so it may not be for everyone. It’s worth it though. Take lots of water or a water filter (lots of water everywhere) and sunscreen and make sure your battery on your camera is well charged because your going to use it!

Easy trail. Stunning waterfall at the end.

Did this hike on a Sunday 7/1/18. The most beautiful hike I have ever done! Also one of the hardest. There are 3 lakes in total. The first lake is the easiest to get to and is beautiful in its own right. The middle and upper lake are up a more secluded trail that is to the left of the lower lake. They are stunning. This is when the trail got pretty difficult for me because it was basically straight uphill. But man was it worth it to see the upper lakes! Hiking to all 3 lakes is closer to 8.5 miles total. We got to the trailhead by 8am and had the trail up to ourselves. The way down was super packed though and super hot. Definitely go early and try to make it to the upper lakes if you can!

So gorgeous and not too difficult. Left a bit late and was hit by a thunderstorm around 2pm. Bring a rain jacket if there's any possibility of rain.

Hike is beautiful and very family friendly!

An interesting and beautiful trail with a rewarding sudden view of the lower Blue Lake. There are places to camp and cook. The upper two lakes are worth the effort, but harder to get to. A 'don't miss' hike.

The Blue Lake is well worth the 3 mile hike. The water is stunning and truly an amazing sight. I would definitely hike again and hopefully go farther onto Blue Lake Pass.

Beautiful hike! Definitely challenging though, especially in the first mile. It’s probably harder if you’re not acclimated too (like me). However, the views were soooo worth it!! Wildflowers were in full bloom and we watched the fish in the Blue Lake for about an hour after deciding to go down. We hiked it up in about 1hr 45min and back down in 1 hour (we didn’t continue onto Blue Lakes Pass). Lots of people on the trail this time of year. Would definitely do it again.

A pretty hike. Lots of switchbacks, uphill all the way, somewhat challenging. Most of the hike is along a forest trail, with occasional views as you climb higher. Some wildflowers, but not an abundance. Trail was lightly traveled our day - we only saw about 6 other people. I'd recommend this one as a tune-up hike for some of the more challenging trails in the region, like Ice Lake. In agreement with previous posts, I suspect the distances are longer than described.

Second time I’ve done this hike. Super short and kid friendly! It’s an easy and short little hike with an amazing waterfall! Lots of people when I went (Fourth of July week) because of the holiday. Overall, very fun, quick & easy!!

Fun for the whole family. Going to the bottom of the falls is well worth the money. The top of the falls provides a great view with a simple walk up the rocks.

Great hike but does NOT allow dogs.

AllTrails should change the description

Stunning views the whole way! Everything was beautiful - colorful wild flowers, scenic vistas & aspen groves. Would definitely hike again.

This “hike” is on a rocky road with cars passing, hardly any shade and is not worth the effort. Either take a 4X4 up to the falls then hike from there to Silver or Blue Lake. Or skip this and go to Bear Creek Falls which is a much more enjoyable hike.

This is a great trail with beautiful views. You can get right up to the base of the waterfall!

Beautiful hike. It's actually an added 1.5 miles one way to get to the upper lakes. This hike is very strenuous, be prepared for steep inclines and some slippery loose rocks.

Truly a breathtaking hike!! It was a rough climb up but the lake is a dream.

Beautiful trail. Amazing views. Great place to swim at the bottom. Awesome campsites down at the bottom. Wish I had known about it would have been a great place to stay. I clearly don’t do enough cardio, had to stop a few times coming back up. But we did the whole thing in about 2.5 hours including a stop at the bottom. Be sure to go check out the vista...you can look all the way down to the beach you just walked to.

Beautiful trail! Gorgeous views of the black canyon. A little uneven but nice and short and easy, appropriate for almost anyone. One of my favorite hikes. We did it about 1.5 hours before dusk and were the only people on the trail. It was great. Our dog was also a big fan.

Must do hike. So far our favorite scenic hike we have done second to Hawaii! The turquoise color is AMAZING! Only went to first lake . From our car to first lake and back was 7.2 miles. Total time was 3 hours 45 min.
We did take several quick rest stops. All the way up was stunning . So worth the climb!

Breathtaking!

Poles were helpful on the switchbacks on the way up and back down.

Very kid and dog friendly!

Beautiful hike! The payoff towards the end is worth the effort!

Its a dirt road that leads to the falls. tue Scenery is nothing special and the Falls werent that great. Go and do Bear Creek instead. The falls there are surreal.
