Great trail. Very muddy in spots after a rain. Good workout

Do not recommend this trail. Conditions are not great for having a safe hike.

Great moderate trail. Challenge due to the roots on the trail. Not recommended for trail runners, but there is a camp site made to hike out to. It’s relatively seclusive but a little busy on the weekends. Tail consists of various mediums from clay and mud to sand and dirt with some rocks here and there. Good hiking boots to avoid twisting an ankle.

Nice walk to and around the quarry. There is road noise from the nearby highway but by the time you get to the quarry, it’s minimal. This was our first time visiting this park and we were very impressed with the size of the river. There were other people (with and without dogs) also in the area but for a Saturday, it wasn’t too busy.

It's a gorgeous wooded area. Very busy and muddy after rain.

Choose to go here because the rating said low traffic... totally inaccurate. The place was packed on a Sunday afternoon. I do not recommend going if you’re looking for a quiet trail without many people on it.

Under water at one point but you can pass if you go off the trail or you can go right through the water like I did. Also a little muddy and slippery throughout. All in all it was a fun trail

Fairly challenging trail - lots of steep ups and downs, it's definitely a workout if you plan on biking or running. Two main complaints - 1) The street parking near the beginning of the trail (where the app leads you to) is pretty much gone now - there's nowhere to park with all the "No Parking" signs around. I'd say ignore the app and try to find a closer parking lot within the park. 2) There's a TON of bikers on this trail, most of which zoom right by you at top speed without any warning whatsoever. Definitely keep your headphones low/off and be aware of your surroundings unless you want to get hit from behind.

Great trail. I walked this trail in the rain and barely noticed because of all the tree cover. One section was closed because of a major flood, but it didn't take off much mileage. Overall a great easy to moderate hike.

We took a souothbound route from Bynum community Park on Christmas day. The trail is easy to find with no folaige growing in winter, but with all the rains it's wet everywhere. We reached Pokeberry Creek, and even with several minutes upstream walking, we couldn't find the way to cross the stream so we headed back. We'd try a northbound route next time.

Full loop is now open again. There are still some small sections that are really muddy but you can easily go around them.

Great trail especially after a snowfall. Trail is rated moderate but I found it pretty easy going. Not sure how it got its name since Sycamore trees were pretty scarce.

A nice moderate trail to hike. The loop cannot be completed due to partial closure of the trail but an out and back hike to the falls is a nice hike. Segments of the trail have rocks and roots but I met quite a few trail runners on it.

All Korstian and Blackwood sections of Duke Forest are closed Monday through Friday until 12/14/18 for deer herd reduction.:(

Hiked the trail today but couldn't complete it because of the mud near the falls area. I had to turn around and go back because I didn't have waterproof shoes on today.

An old favorite after a week of rain. Rivers and creeks full. Trails in overall good shape.

Trail was very wet and muddy. my 3 year old was disappointed we couldn't find the homestead when we followed the homestead trail. It was an okay walk through the woods. wear good shoes if there has been rain recently.

Nice little gem of an easy morning hike with the dog. Very well marked and managed and easy to navigate. A few trees are down after remnants of hurricane Michael but easy to hop.

EDIT Jan. 2019: The trail is open, but there is a flooded area that makes the 2nd half inaccessible. Loved the first half and hoping to go back soon to see the rest once the water goes down!

TRAIL/FOREST CLOSED UNTIL END OF DECEMBER 2018. Don’t waste your time and drive out here like we did. :) Will update review once we actually get to try out this trail!

It’s a trail littered with roots so be careful when walking. After Florence, the trail to the falls and the part of the loop are closed off.

We enjoyed the trail but were confused on how to finish it. The trail had brush on it and seemed to dead end into private property. Would be interested to hear from people who were able to complete the trail.

Nice trail, but the bridge is out between the Buckquarter Creek Trail and the Holden's Mill Trail. I uploaded a photo from today, 9/22/2018

Good views and easy trails.

Pretty flat and not too many roots at the beginning. The elevation and tougher ground starts around the loop and it was a fun length! Good start to a day

Not hard at all. Mostly paved. It would be much better of a challenge for biking. Close to the road for a good portion

The trail is butterfly shaped. The left wing was not available at New Hope Creek. Bill Watson’s description below is still accurate. Going east to west, the trail is blocked by a big rock at NHC near the intersection with Rhodo Trail.

Good trail; moderately uphill/downhill at times. Was just fine with three dogs. Plenty of opportunities for them to hop in the water and cool off/swim.

Not much to look at. Cyclists all over the trail.
