Beautiful country. The last 50 percent of the trail ice and slush. our kids had a lot of fun. Out of state fee is $15 for park entry.
Difficult to find the actual trail but it’s fairly easy to find your way to the top. The birds were friendly and ate wild bird seed straight from our hands. We used snow shoes to get to the top but you could probably do the same with hiking boots. Snow very deep in some parts.
Beautiful. Still some slushy and sometimes icy snow but well worth it!!
One of my favorites, such a sweet contact with the chickadee birds and easy hike . ( Great for kids)
Fantastic views, chickadees are adorable and a nice amount of exercise.
Nice! Needed some fresh snow - a little icy
What trail? Lol. It’s hard to actually follow the trail because everyone is going where they want in the snow. But it’s beautiful and the view at the top is beautiful.
Such a pretty trail. I snowshoed and it’s was very easy to get off track of this trail if you are just following other peoples tracks. Beautiful views of Tahoe at the top.
Plenty of snow, mostly well packed, but some areas where hard to hike
So beautiful! A must-do for Tahoe. Even nice when cold & snowing a bit.
Really easy and beautiful trail. Had snowshoes but honestly you don’t need them there’s even some parts with no snow anymore
This is a beautiful area, and the chickadees are amazing. You don’t have to hike far to find them, but it’s worth going a little further for views of the lake. Right now you don’t even really need snow shoes with the (unfortunate) lack of recent snow.
Loved this trail. We parked on the street and snowshoed through woods to the ridge. I read the advice of “follow the sun” good advice! Bring bird seed so you can feed the chickadees. You do not need to do the whole trail to find chickadees looking for food. They are in the pines. Just hold out you hand and call them (chick a dee dee dee).
Super Fun! First Time SnowShoeing This Trail! Would definitely do it again!
Nice easy trail. Mostly packed snow. Icy in a few spots.
Great snowshoeing trail/area. Love the chickadees.
