This is an easy snowshoe trek from the Sno-Park lot to Lower Echo. We also shoed across the length of Lower Echo. Powder is deep in spots, and the lake is mostly frozen. Absolutely enchanting. Such a gorgeous hike. Today’s weather was terrific, along with ideal road conditions.

Visited on 6/11/18 with our 3 year old. Hike down was fairly easy for all of us, but it was loose gravel. Got to the bottom to find out tours stopped at 3:30.

nice day hike, good views

beautiful for a nice winter hike.

Went up yesterday & it was very snowy!! Totally beautiful though maybe not all cars could make it on the snow covered road to get to the lake.

It was a beautiful and fun easy hike. It has great views of the lake. if you are short on time and want a beautiful hike this is the one. you first walk through the trees then eventually along the mountain. Mid hike it gets rocky so just be aware of your stepping. We went Thanksgiving weekend and the river was flowing but just not at full capacity. I would want to do this hike again in the Spring to see the river when the snow melts. but overall it was a beautiful hike!

Rough for a beginner. Def need to have some semblance of fitness before doing this trail. Awesome photo ops. Did this trail 2 weeks ago before the snow came. Currently has a ‘Closed for Season’ sign up. Will go back when I’m in Chuck. Norris shape and it re-opens.

I was here mid-week in mid-November and saw very few people. The trail (road) down is unremarkable but wow... That's an amazing piece of architecture at the end. It's definitely worth it for that and for the opportunity to spend some time lazing on the shore of the stunning Emerald Bay.

This is a wonderful easy hike that is easy to access. Getting to the falls is pretty easy until you get very close, then the trail becomes a little unclear. Even so, just keep going straight and you will see where the falls are. Right now the water is barely moving. Would love to come back and check this out after a snow melt!

Beautiful lakes; nice easy to follow trail; interesting granite formation; only thing missing is a waterfall

Easy hike, lots of people, beautiful views.

The trail is seemingly impossible to follow, especially on the way down. The hike was definitely fun (lots of scrambling and adventuring on the rocks) and I would do it again, but it only gets 3 stars because the "trail" was so hard to follow.

fun trail.love the waterfalls

Easy and pretty, perfect for acclimating to the elevation. We cut down to Upper Echo Lake and relaxed there for a bit.

Boring walk, but worth it when you get the beach at the end.

Great easy short hike. Great views at the end from Lovers Leap looking down at the town of Strawberry, north towards horse tail falls, and all the peaks and forests in the surrounding area. We parked across highway 50 from Camp Sacramento. Good hike for kids, our 4yr old made it up and back on his own without any issues.

A great trail to go with kids. Really nice views of Emerald Bay. We went with a 1.5 and 3.5 year old and they really enjoyed it, especially the beach at the end! It’s very easy on the way down, and steep on the way up (for just about a mile, so totally doable!) Arrive early for parking! Parking area is $10.

Nice easy to moderate hike with lovely views. A little busy on a Sunday but it was also a holiday weekend. Try to go early! No smoke from fires when we went today (11/11/2018)

Great hike

Nice easy hike with some great views. Parking can be tricky so get here early when you can. Definitely steep at some points, wear good shoes. Lovely views of the lake.

super super steep but so pretty... it really is worth the hike back up

Loved this trail, went during the off season and was able to have the trail to ourselves. Easy walk, beautiful views. Took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the furthest lake and around 3 hours (with side hikes) to complete. You can get this trail done in 2 hours if you go straight there and back.

Overall a short and pretty easy hike with some rocky spots towards the end. Would love to go in Spring to get a chance to see the waterfall after the creek gets some snowmelt. The creek is peaceful right now, and there’s lots of space to take in the view. Beautiful views of the lakes and granite rock formations!

Did this hike by myself with my dog. Very easy and enjoyable. Did it mid October and saw not one person. There were times where I thought I was off trail, so make sure to load the map to your phone beforehand as there is no service out there (Verizon). I did the loop counter clockwise. It met up with the PCT and I took a right where it eventually crossed over a bridge to a waterfall. Once you get to the dead end where it meets the gravel road, take a right and you will later meet back up at the campground. Highly recommend doing it in the fall with all the beautiful fall foliage.

Definitely a scenic hike. Had a lot of different pools to explore and involves a bit of climbing. Great for a quick trip to a waterfall.

Nice trail to walk - short and easy to complete in a little over an hour. Views over cascade lake and lake tahoe were very nice.
