Sunday - Diane Map

Great hike. Shirt and sweet. Good training hike for Wilson.

Amazing hike and picturesque as well. The trail are
Rough with many tripping hazards and one should watch your step, specially when descending. done it twice and were very fulfilling.

Great hike this weekend. Right before the storm. After Echo MT. We decided to continue on up to Inspiration Point. What a great decision. Amazing view. But was freezing cold up there. Will definitely do both hikes again.

Even though visibility was maybe 100ft at the top, this was still a fun and challenging hike. It took my brother and I 2.5 hours to get up to the top. Hiking poles or microspikes would be recommended this time of year even though it was fairly warm in the beginning (I only had a t-shirt on until Wellman Divide). There was a sprinkling of rain from Wellman Divide to the top which then turned to snow.

This trail is super cool! Very well kept, beautiful views of Tahquietz Peak and Suicide Rock. Lot's of shade, switch backs and goes around mountain. Great workout! Make sure to get your Adventure pass, and requires permits at Ranger station.

This is a great training trail. It's long enough and difficult enough for a good workout. Very nice views as well. Just be sure to start early when it's hot because there's not much cover from the sun.

Sadly our group wasn’t able to get to the top but i enjoyed this hike.. great workout and beautiful views! Can’t wait to go back! We also took a different trail starting the hike, that had a type of water fountain and also felt spooky.

Didn’t make it all the way to Echo Mountain, but will be going back tomorrow, so another review to come soon.

So far, this place is pretty cool. The views are amazing all around, and the bits of history about the old railway is delightful. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful day out. Light snow and ice on the round made it air slippery on some spots. Once we made it to the junction it was even more beautiful and a great place to take some time to relax.

once u get to the top. is amazing

We backpacked this trail on Feb 16, 2018 and it was definitely a steep long trail. Most people do not backpack this route and I can see why. It's really uphill most of the way and carrying 40+lbs on your back is rough. With that said this 49 year old and her friends and kids (ages 13 and 14) did great. We slept just near Saddle jct about 500 yds north on the PCT. There were patches of snow, and it was cold at night (down in the 25 degrees) If you plan to hike to the peak anytime soon bring microspikes as there is too much ice to hike without them.

The view was really lovely, but I won't be hiking this one again. Next time I'll stick with less uphill trails as I'm still learning to pack a lighter pack :)
Happy Hiking!

We started on this trail and proceeded to hike down to Upper Bear Creek campground. great views the entire way.

The day was nice and crisp, some breezes blowing and good sushine. The trail is pretty well maintained. Being a holiday it was heavily trafficked. Next time will be during the week when the trail traffic is lighter.
It is pretty though, and a good hike.

Amazing... will be back

Not a bad hike...it’s pretty neat at the top seeing the historical sites and the trail is easy to follow. Feeling extra active? Continue on up to Inspiration Point! No restroom along the trail though, so plan ahead!

Didn't get to finish it because I came too late. But it's a decent hike, but a bit narrow in the trails at times. I would not personally bring my dog who is a but rambunctious. Plenty of street parking.

Enjoyable hike. Weather cool and snow on ground and trees as we approached Saddle Junction. Round trip to Saddle Junction took 4 hrs including frequent stops for photos and resting at Saddle Junction.

I love this trail and hike it repeatedly. Almost all uphill on the way and when you get around the front to the backside of the mountains you find tranquility.

I recently did this hike with my dog during the week and started at 5:30 am. Owls hooting in the dark. The forest eventually was waking up with birds chirping. It was amazing. I would recommend. We got to orchard camp and had it to ourselves. It is a great run down.

I frequently do this hike with my dog. The uphill is great along with the view and the ruins. Great run down. Great workout.

I would not recommend going on a weekend. Unless you like a scene, a line of people, and people playing music from speakers for everyone to hear (who started that btw?). Put some headphones on.

Very narrow path for how heavily trafficked it is. No trees until you get to the top. If you want a foresty scenic trail don’t do this one. Seeing the casino and train ruins were cool though. Not my cup of tea for a hike, but it’s great for trail running and even some mountain biking.

Nice trail, well maintained. It was fairly busy, I brought my dog and she loved it! Don't forget a permit from the ranger station, and dogs should be leashed.

Neither my dog or myself is in great shape and we took it slow. 1hr 45 minutes to the saddle and 1.5hr down the hill. The time includes rest stops and time to chat with other hikers.

Somewhat steep, mostly uphill, very narrow at times. Excellent workout and the campground is so pleasant to rest and snack!

Amazing hike and experience. The ranger told us it takes the average person 6 hours to complete the trail. We were racing the sun as we got a late start so we managed to complete it under that time. The trail is somewhat well marked. I did the trail in hiking shoes, nothing extra and I was fine. Hiking poles definitely would have been nice at some points. Also make sure to wear layers as the sun sets the mountain gets pretty chilly! I actually thought the view at Wellman’s Divide was better than the view at the summit.

Uphill the whole way, but not too hard. Still a good workout, great views.

Very nice warm day hike. Some minor snow and lot’s of ice!!! Ice cleats highly recommended! 2 ladies had injuries along the way and were rescued. Not an easy hike, not recommended for kids or beginners. But won’t call it difficult either. It took us 2:50 to get to the top with some breaks and a little less to get back. Overall, great hike!

Havent done it yet. Anyone tell me what footwear is suggested? Boots, Trail shoes?? How much snow? What equipment did you use?

This its an Amazing place i never have such a great experience ever i waiting to go back again and again and again and again........

Did this hike today and it was busy but still enjoyable. We took the teenagers and dog with us and everyone did well. You can feel the altitude going up which made it a bit challenging for us ocean dwellers but was worth it. I would like to go out farther next time. Remember to wear layers!

Great trail cold with 30-40 mph wind gusts and last bit was icy but an amazing hike with incredible views
