Fell in love with this place . Beautiful view of the waterfall.

Very quiet trail, usually only see about 2 or 3 people each time I go there. My dog loves it and there's a few areas that are just a huge field so I usually bring the brisbee!

Can get pretty windy near the water some days (if you choose to add on Poor's farm road to your hike) but it's beautiful!

Great walk. Was super icy. Stop at the bridge and walk in to the falls there. We keep right on going because the map told us to.

Check what kind of hike you're in for! Went in Feb and the entire road was slippery ice. Maybe bring your skates!

Great terrain. Good sized loop for an afternoon hike.

Great trail, great work-out! Well marked and very clean.

Some newly felled trees across trail on West side of Ash Lake, otherwise in great shape this spring.

nice and easy walk

Good trail and not super well marked which is fun, kind of close to the highway so you can hear the cars pretty much into the loop. only downside though

Well marked trail. Nice mix of terrains too. It can get a bit swampy in the lower parts.

Great trail. Well marked!

Nice in the fall. Ash Lake is quiet and lovely. It's really good to record and compare with the map as the trails can be a little faint at times. There are tapes and paint at tricky spots though plus some signs. I didn't go the Hobson's Lake route but picked a different way in and back.

Beautiful trail! Definitely more challenging than expected. My only complaint is lack of trail marking can make it easy to get lost and end up on one of the longer loops!

Walking, running, biking, It is hands down the best trail in all of Halifax. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, and nature. Amazing!

this was a surprise for me and my girlfriend who enjoy challenging trails. I recommend this hike

Great walk for humans and their furry companions! Suitable for older children. Close to the city. Costly Farm section not groomed, though the rest of the trails seem to be primarily gravel.

Absolutely beautiful hiking trails, dog friendly on leash. Absolutely breathe taking views. Multiple trails within the one trail. Difficult at times but worth every minute.

Beautiful scenery, not overly busy, quite ! Trails aren't "perfect" and you can definitely get muddy. My four legged friend and I had a blast though

I was happy to see tags - its early in the season so parts of the trail were a bit hard to find - overall a great trail! I would certainly do it again :)

Of all the 4 loops of the Bluff Wilderness, the Pot Lake Loop provides the best cardio workout. Good signage to help you navigate from each trail loop and amazing views.

Did this last summer with my daughter - did it in a. It over three hours on a very hot day! But the views were exceptional!

An very beautiful trail, awesome hemlock old growth stand and excellent view of Antigonish Harbour from the top. A very nice 2-4 hour hike pending trail selection.

Once you leave the Hobson's Lake Trail, you are more likely to see a canoe or kayak then another hiker. As a result, the Ash Lake loop offers a great opportunity to empty your mind and just enjoy the day.

Great backwoods wilderness trail that is relatively close(10-15min) outside of downtown Halifax. The Ash Lake part of the hike is not as well trodden but is still fairly well marked with ribbons on the trees. Took me about 2:20 to complete. You can also just do the Hobson's Lake Trail which takes about 1:15 for a quick but satisfying one.

Great spot to walk the dog

I am surprised with 2 stars on these trails. Some of the trails are bike friendly, but most of them north of salt marsh are not. It is on leash for dogs & for difficulty I would say easy to moderate. Moderate portion is North of Salt Marsh trail. I really enjoy these trails, but they are located in my area. I would not drive from Halifax for this trail.

Great Sunday afternoon walk with the kids. A few hills but the path is crusher dust so easy to push a stroller on it. Some wildlife the day we were there lots of birds and a few deer. The trail travels through an open field then through some woods then opens up again with nice views of the Atlantic Ocean, Musquodoboit Harbour.
