Enjoyed the hike during winter time. Be sure to not go during the icy season. All trails would be mostly covered in ice.

A family favorite as it is close to home but quiet enough to feel removed from the hustle and bustle of “suburb/city life”. Various trails boasting different arboreal species makes this park reserve nearly impossible to tire of, and perfect for an afternoon stroll through the woods. Yes, certain times of the year are more dreadful for flies, but it can be alleviated with adjusting your plans to come in a different season to avoid this annoyance.

Did the trail on 1-6-19. Temp in 30's. Trails were ice covered and muddy where they weren't. Did it with my dog. We did 9.3 miles as we hiked other connecting trails as part of our trip. Is a beautiful trail. We were on trail about 5 hours. But we did a leisurely pace. The All trails app kept me on track. Could have easily gotten of track without it. Only ran into 2other hikers at the end of trip close to trailhead. Highly recommend it. Going to hike in from Jordans end of it next time.

Quiet and Peaceful hike today! 32 degrees was perfect!

This is one of the best parks to walk, hike, or snowshoe near the Twin Cities—in all seasons! It provides instant seclusion and immerses you in the woods and prairie life. I’ve seen deer and coyotes during different parts of the year. The trails are well maintained and the park has both paved and unpaved paths. The unpaved paths are the best, by far, but dogs aren’t allowed on them. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy sunrise and sunset. The trail has different paths you can take to vary the length or route, and loops so you don’t have to turn around. This place is special, especially for those who love the prairie.

This was a great day to take a hike. Easy to lose the trail when you get to Sand Creek as the area floods and the trail is suttle with snow and ice covering part of it, but as long as you go in the general direction you will be fine.

I came across the large glacial boulder, it was bigger than I expected, but seriously, lets not draw a penis on things you don't own...

Jabs farm was cool to see but the dyke was out so I had to reverse direction and hike the 3.5 miles back to the trail head.

mountain biking

This is a great mountain biking trail but it is extremely dangerous to hike on because the trail is narrow and the mountain bikes go really fast. I do not recommend hiking on this trail. It is not worth getting hurt. Hike on the other side on the road.

Really gorgeous and rarely very busy. It’s a gem, so close to the Twin Cities.

went for a beautiful walk with a friend! the area was gorgeous and we went at the perfect time of day

Great park and close to home. My wife and I hike here often. Usually about a 3 mile loop but I have done up to 13 mi as there are numerous loops available. Well kept trails and great for walking side by side.

I hiked this trail on Thanksgiving. Like others have said, you eventually come to a point where the bridge is out, leaving you to either cross the water. Or turn around and hike back. This is still a great area though and pretty close to the Twin Cities. I definitely recommend checking it out.

I really like the trail it's nice for a guy that just started mountain bike riding

trail running

Ran with my dog on trail in early November. Trail was nice except for a couple spots that had mud that we could easily get around. There was also some construction at trail head by Cedar Avenue. It looked to be almost complete with a nice new parking area. I would use again.

Great hiking trails.

The trail is beautiful but completely closed at 35w. It is under several feet of water and impassable. I am not sure why all trails doesn’t show the trail starting earlier since there are trailheads to the east which would allow longer hikes. You can see these on the map and access these between 77s and MOA off of old shakopee road.

Nice area on a beautiful day! My dog enjoyed the water. Would come back!

Absolutely stunning!!!

As of today, the trail was open but there is still some minor flooding near the back part of the trail. So you can get about halfway but then have to turn back the way you came and cannot make the full loop. In any event, the trail is very nice and a quick three-mile getaway from the hustle and bustle. Parking is $7 if you don’t have a permit. Trail head is right next to the lot.

very nice place to hike and the hidden falls was well worth the trip. Really appreciate how well navigated the pathes are. Good place to take your dog and enjoy the area.

Great river views. Easy stroll with no inclines.

Breathtaking paths
Easy navigation
Absolutely beautiful area
Stunning fall colors right now
Only saw one or two other people which made it a perfect place for me to meditate.
Highly recommend!

on Battle Creek Trail

Not bad. Some steep areas up to falls over loose shale but not difficult at all. Nice views on the way up. Very crowded with tons of parent sherpas.everywhere. However it was Labor Day weekend so that definitely contributed to the crowded trails. Makes for a good short, family walk..

Great nearby place to hike.

Well kept, easy to access, plenty of parking. I ended up just staying in the off leash dog area, which is contained by a fence and is huge.

Nice hiking trails, well marked, all trails loop so you can choose the length of your hike. Waterfall was a trickle today, but still worth seeing.
