Take the alternative loop back instead of simply turning around at the waterfall. It’s a challenge but you WON’T regret it! The views are incredible. Be on the lookout as this is a natural reserve and rattlesnakes (as well as others) reside here.

Finally did this hike, it’s been on my list of hikes for some time now. Overall it’s probably 1-2 hour hike. There were some dicey spots on this trail mainly where the rock slide areas are. Great for kids and dogs. Did this one with my dog and he did fine with the exception of dicey spots.
One recommendation is do this one early morning so you can beat the crowd. I was fortunate enough to get there when no one was around the mine. I was able to relax take some good shots and just enjoy the natural environment, sounds and fresh air.

In addition you will need an adventure pass. If you haven’t purchase one yet spend the 20-30$ to get a pass for the whole year.

Super cool hike! Apparently it's claimed to be the most haunt trail in Cali. Super beautiful and the end is a blast. For dog hikers, know it might be a bit hard to get your canine up the very last stretch. The hike is super awesome as a whole. Hope it rains soon!

this hike was stunning The Greenery was unbelievable and the waterfall was the Coupe de gras an easy hike it's a must for beginners we will definitely come back again

My sister and I did this hike about a year ago.
It’s a super fun hike, but it gets pretty hot. We went right after there was that couple month span of a ton of rain so there was an actual waterfall there and a little pool at the top.

We made the mistake of hiking through poison oak the entire way (and there’s a TON of it so keep your eyes peeled!).

Fun hike.
Very challenging at the end when you’re clambering over rocks and things. Expect to get a full body work out here.
I would recommend going after heavy rain so you can soak your tired feet in a pool of cold water when you get to the top.

great workout, great views, close to the city

Do you like long hot trails to nowhere?? No waterfall, no water...

Last half mile is very hard and challenging with rocks and boulders. There was no water at the fall. There are lots of wizards and birds singing along road. Good 4 hour hiking. I like it very much.

One of my favorite hikes I’ve ever been on! Of course I love graffiti and abandoned places full of mystery so... with a nice mix of beautiful nature that’s not too overcrowded when you go off the main paths! Can’t wait to come back

This is a good beginners hike has a few challenges but nothing major. a few streams and rocky roads. Take extra socks, light snacks and about 2 Lts. of water. I did a very early hike from 6am to 1pm I was back. not many uphill situations. happy hike!

Beautiful views and a fun trail with enough variation to keep the hike engaging. The mine itself is a great reward at the end of the journey.

Great trail. Says easy but I would rate it moderate.

Decent trail with lots of rocks and boulders. It’s definitely a full body workout

Great hike the only down side is that parking is very limited especially on weekends, get there by 6!

Beautiful and relaxing. It’s definitely an easy hike. Great for kids and dog friendly. Saw a couple of quails running on the trail for a while. So close to Malibu Seafood for after hike lunch.

Great hike , get there early parking is limited. We parked 1/4 mile down hill. Mostly shaded hike, not much to the waterfall. The last part of hike coming back is all uphill so be prepared. Will definitely be back.

Lovely short hike!!!

I was wrong! Just a short walk to the store and the Goats! Then on to the falls. Happy

I’m walking up and down the road. The park at 9 was Completely full. They said get here by 6 on weekend. still great!
I’ll make Thursday my hiking day

Easy hike , good for kids and nice waterfall at the end. Can climb the hill next to falls if you are up to it. Be careful of loose rocks.

Great hike, gigantic boulders, tons of poison Oak! No water up top, so we turned around 15 minutes short.

Great trail! Amazing views!! Bring a lot of water & wear a hat :)

I accidentally went off down a different path but eventually got to the shipwreck area. When the paved road starts to curve left at the top of the hill there’s a path I followed that had a rope to help you get down to the beach. This was an added bonus of adventure and had great views! At the beach there is only one way to follow. It takes you left and you get to do some climbing if you want. The views are amazing and yes there are rocks to walk on, but it’s not that bad. I almost didn’t do this hike because of all the reviews about the rocks being terrible but there’s enough of a path where everyone has walked that it’s just fine. I actually ran most of the way back from the shipwreck just for a bonus workout and navigating the rocks was completely manageable. Definitely worth the view!!!

Easy and lovely

if you're going to do this Trail be prepared there's a lot of rock climbing without ropes but a lot of boulders but it pretty cool extreme Trail to try

Very buggy this time of year. Was swating bugs out of my face the entire way. Extremely shaded. Expect to pass through many rocks for the last .5 mile to the waterfall. Isn't a waterfall you can soak your feet in. Not many rocks to sit on. It was nice to touch the green moss along the waterfall. Overall not my favorite in LA county.

Hiked here 2 days ago and it was beautiful.. so many flowers blooming and the waterfall flowing nicely! Pretty easy hike. It’s best to start early to avoid all the people. Busy trail! We started by 7:00 am and had the waterfall area to ourselves, which was great.

Always a really fun hike although the waterfall is normally pretty dry

Great cliff side hike with periodic framed views west. A few boulder scrambles but well-maintained trail. Obnoxious gun fusillades at the Goat point on the weekend.

Great hike but can be pretty crowded
