A beautiful waterfall. There are a few fallen trees and branches along the way from the windstorm but you’re still able to get around. The trail is still well maintained. Saw a good amount of people on the way to the falls and back. Once you get close to the falls there is a stream you have to cross yet the water was too high without some proper water shoes. We were able to climb across a fallen tree to get to the other side. I’d recommend this to friends

this is an easy to moderate hike. there was no snow until 5mins before we got to the lake.

amazing view in the top.

Dec 5, 2018:
Road is snow free and in decent shape; it's actually one of the better mountain backroads we've driven on.
Trail is snow covered starting 1 mile in. It's all well compacted and well established. We wore our microspikes. There were a couple slick ice patches in the lower elevation of the trail worth noting.

It was a moderate trail. The switchbacks were a bit challenging in damp conditions.

First half of the trail has a marked path and is cleared fairly well. Once it splits the trail can get muddy and narrow in points, but we were hiking in november. There's definitely a few wet areas to cross so need to make good shoe decisions if you plan on hiking off season. The final creek crossing before the falls has a tree to crawl over or a 1' deep swift, cold, fast moving wet path - took our shoes off and carried the 7 year old over and let the 10 year old crawl the tree.

The road to the trail head is littered with potholes, use caution. The trail register is closed for the season so be sure to let someone know where you are. The trail is very wet. Lots of running water on the tail. Snow made an appearance about 1/4 mile from the lake. There is about 3 inches of snow at the lake and it is starting to ice over. Not many people on the way up we started at 8 am by the time we got back to the car at noon there were no more parking spots. Great hike always one of my favorites

Beautiful hike with well-maintained trails. Signage to Cerry Creek Falls now well posted. The falls are worth the hike, in any weather.

A fairly easy trail with amazing views at the top!

A fairly challenging hike with one of the most beautiful alpine lakes at the top! Did this one a few years back and remember really loving it.

Absolutely beautiful trail.

When i came back to my car they had broken the window. I had nothing of value in the car. Maybe leave your doors unlocked? I will not be back.

Amazing hike! The moderate rating is justified due to the elevation gain, flooded areas, and trees/roots on the trail. Had snow at the lake which made for beautiful photos, would definitely recommend to others and doing it again.

This is my FAVORITE hike in this area. Not too long. Steady elevation. And breathtaking lake! I’ve done this hike probably 20 times, and attempted it during every season and it never disappoints! My 4 year old even did the hike and only needed to be helped at the very top. And bonus theirs a “toilet” at the top ;)

The falls are truly a hidden gem! Great hike for kids. I’ve taken my 4 year old twice this year, once during summer and the falls didn’t have much water but still made for a perfect picnic lunch spot. And once this weekend, which after the rain it was a tad muddy however the falls were roaring and gorgeous! We even saw some salmon In the pond!

This is a great hike. There was Snow in the last .5 miles, but the trail is still easy to follow. There are not too many views before the top, and the Falls always underwhelm me, but Lake Serene is just beautiful, and the tall cliffs that surround it are so magnificent. The sound of snow cascading off the cliffs sound like thunder.
It is a hard hike, but worth the effort. My only reason for the 4 star is because it is a very popular hike.

great waterfall.

we did the route today with the dog, was muddy being shoes with good tread as not to slip, long waits for lines of hikers literally lines of 5-10 people at about 9am, if you hike before 8am you should be ok. trail was nice being trekking poles

Fantastic day hike - the lake was stunning with the sun coming through the peaks of the mountains. Bridal falls is an incredible bonus of this hike...trails were in good condition all the way up, but did get a bit slick towards the top as they turn into mostly rock.

Beautiful hike! The trail is covered in compact snow and ice the last mile. We were fine hiking up in boots, but opted to use micro spikes on the way down. Views at the top were gorgeous

This is a GREAT hike. We went in November and it was one of the last nice days of the season, which made for a beautiful frost cover near the Lake. It’s colder up there so layers are a must. Water proof shoes, the pot holes and the frosted walk way (not unsafe) in other reviews are accurate. It’s only an hour and half from Seattle and easily done in a half day. Light traffic during this time of year. We loved how you could hike all the way around the lake too. Highly recommend.

We did this today and it was a cool and crisp day. The trail definitely gets more steep after the falls, but it's worth it to make it to the beautiful lake. Bring layers! Got hot on the way up from the exertion, but the lake area was very cold and windy. There was ice in places with some very slippery rocks near the top, which slowed our pace. I recommend poles for this very rocky trail.

Nice, quiet hike. Worth the committment once you get to the top. 4/5 stars because there isn't much to see along the way. I took my time for photos and still finished in less than 3 hours. HUGE cedar trunks close to trailhead. Lake is just about frozen all the way across the top. No snow yet. Planks a little slippery.
Started as first car, ended with 5 other cars.

The trail is in very good condition. As with many other hikes in Washington, 95% of the trail is in the forest. There is one opening along the way, but the payoff really comes at the very end. The views at the end are fantastic, 360 degrees of the mountains at the top. Great views of Mt Daniel, Baring, and Glacier Peak. A neat view of Skykomish from the top as well. Snow in the last mile, but was fine with normal shoes, that may change by weeks end.

Fun trail with interesting sights along the way. There is some mud and a point where you either have to ford a creek or walk over a fallen tree, so go for waterproof footwear if possible. The end with the falls are gorgeous in autumn and you can view it both from the bottom and get right up to the top. We brought our pup and he had great time, but smaller or older dogs may not be equipped to complete the entire loop.

Good hike. Can be muddy in areas. Very well maintained trail.

We decided on this trail and we all enjoyed our time on the hike. Don’t stop at the lake keep following the trail and you will end up at a massive bolder you will want to see. Beautiful views make this a must do.. The falls are worth the extra steps.

Definitely a lot of potholes on Pilchuk Road, but the hike and the lake were beautiful. There were maybe 15 cars in the lot when we got there around 11 on a Saturday, but the trail wasn’t crowded by any means. You warm up hiking in the forest but it definitely gets cold when you’re at the lake and don’t have the tree cover. Like others are saying, the boardwalks along the lake were frosty but it was manageable. There was some snow at the lake (not on the trail itself) and the lake was iced over a bit. We saw a lot of younger children in rain boots that definitely were not enjoying themselves because there are a lot of rocks and tree roots that can be difficult to navigate at times.

Amazing old growth trail. I agree with the moderate rating because of the elevation gain and the difficulty of navigating the trail. Roots and rocks can be a big problem if you don’t pay attention. The reward at the lake is well worth the effort. Beautiful even on a cloudy day! I had the trail and lake to myself today. I ran into 4 people on the way down. I will return to this trail in the summer I am sure it’s even more stunning!

Relatively flat, wide gravel trail. Nice waterfall area at the end. Mostly smaller growth trees in the beginning.

Convenient to Duvall.

Highly-recommend trail!!! There are two trails separated when walking about 40 mins. The trail starts getting harder once u finish bridal veil and set foot to Lake Serene, because there are so many rocky switchbacks and the accumulated ice makes them much harder. Watch your steps, cuz the rocks covered with ice are so slippery, and my friend even slipped three times
