Awesome weather! Trail started to get busy around 11 am.

Beautiful huge trees and turquoise water...

Beautiful trail with gorgeous views of Rainier, Adams and St. Helens on a clear day. The trail still has a significant amount of snow on it so I recommend bringing a plastic garbage bag if you want to sled a bit and maybe some spikes. The trail also goes over a creek that can be a bit difficult to cross due to a high water level but overall one of my favorite hikes for sure!

Did this hike yesterday, live in Snohomish County and left at about 5:30am and got to the trailhead at about 8:30am - long drive on the forest service road, keep headlights on even during the day...was a beautiful drive out to the trailhead and park. Bring plenty of water (I usually over hydrate the day/night prior to a hike and bring 2 water bottles with me), wasn't a very long hike but it is a fairly "intense" hike....completely worth all the sweat when you reach the lookout - gorgeous views of Rainier and even saw St. Helens in the background. Will definitely be doing this hike again, would recommend starting early as it is a very popular hike!

Great hike and only a fraction of the people who go on the tollmie peak trail. We were at the trailhead at 10 o’clock Which required a .75 mile hike to the trail head.

Avalanche release the peak now

Comet Falls was impressive and a great hike in the trees. saw a few marmots along the creek.

great hike last week carrying our kids in the Kelty kids carriers.

Hike up was beautiful. Moderate difficulty is a good description. Get there early. We parked at 630am and shared the entire walk up with one other person (and a quick bear sighting). On the way down we passed a ton of people. Parking lot was filled with people circling for spots at 12. Beautiful views at the top!

Great hike. I took my 8 and 4 year olds with me and they did fine. Steady incline thats not too steep. A couple good view points, most notably on the north east side of the trail. Its easier than snow and bench lakes just down the road, but not as pretty. Still a great hike. Will do again.

Such a beautiful trail!!! Would love to go back someday.

Beautiful views but we had to walk a mile or so to access the beginning of the trail since it was closed for repairs

Excellent hike with an amazing view at the top on a clear day!! Took me 2 hours and 45 minutes up with my dog needing breaks from the heat toward the top. The old trail up was pleasantly difficult and hard to find the trail toward the top. Diamond markers helps keep you on track thank goodness. I took the new trail down with many switch backs. That portion alone was 5.3 miles. I think this hike is longer than what is stated but wonderful none the less.

Did this hike yesterday! So enjoyable. I arrived around 7:30, I was one of three cars on the Monday morning. It felt like I had the trail all to myself for most of my ascent up. It was only until the last half of my lake loop and my descent down the trail, did I actually start to see more people and groups.

Seems to get packed quickly the later in the day it gets. I can’t imagine the traffic on a weekend. I was thankful that I wore my most water resistant boots. Some casual stream crossing, water fall gazing, and splashing around was well worth it. The trail was very well maintained and I personally enjoyed the mixture of man made bridges / stairs in contrast to the occasional array of rocks and stones.

Great hike! very challenging as its switchbacks almost the whole way up. We reapplied bug spray 6 times, they are vicious. we had our dogs on leash the whole way up and on the way back down we let them off due to the rocky scramble. We ran into a park ranger on the way down and she told us that it was not required to have the dogs on leash, which was comforting and I wish I would have known sooner. I tracked the hike on my phone, it was a total of 12 miles round trip from car to the lake and back. Be prepared!

Hiked this yesterday. Lots of stuff blooming now. Switchbacks are hard work if you're not regularly hiking.

Beautiful views! I found it to be a moderate hike because there wasn’t much mileage. I do think there was more elevation gain than posted though. My watch stated we hiked 3700 ft, and I don’t know how exact these things are but I think it counted the elevation gain on the way back to the trailhead as well. No spikes needed for what’s left of the snow near the lake. The trail is somewhat exposed to the sun once you head up to the lookout from the lake. The bugs were biting quite a bit so definitely bring bug spray! We started the hike at 1245 and had no trouble finding a place to park. Dusty gravel road so be careful, visibility was awful when I drove behind someone else.

1. Tracked this hike and it's a total of 17 miles from car to lake and back to car. You hike 2.5 miles from your car to the actual trailhead.
2. Left at @10:30am, Lake @1:30pm, hung out for an hour, then got back to our car @6:30pm
3. Absolutely the most hardest hike I've ever done, but stunning and rewarding.
4. Bring a suit! You've got to jump in the lake, it's definitely worth it.
5. (tip) Some parts of snow, but dig toe down as you cross, at least that's what I did
6. (tip) The descent is hard on your feet!
7. Bug spray is a must. They're super aggressive out there.

We hiked this yesterday. Started towards Frozen Lake, but views would have been better from the opposite entrance. Did Boroughs 1 & 2, had three snow passes which were melting and very slippery. Wasn’t easy without poles, but we made it. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone with strong fear of heights or without good grip on boots. Views were stunning, wildflowers were lovely. Stopped for lunch at Shadow Lake, but the bugs were biting hard despite bug spray, so had to abandon. Overall still an amazing hike.

Absolutely stunning hike. Several miles of gravel road to the trailhead which isn’t bad if you plan on getting there early, but definitely experienced some tough conditions on the way down as the gravel was kicked up by the mass of cars and it was impossible to see the car ahead of me. As far as the hike, I’d say it’s more on the moderate side and it truly is spectacular. Go on a clear day and take in the views, and then make sure to jump into Eunice Lake to cool off. Also, bugs are starting to come out in full force, so bring your spray!

Yes! Yes! You haven't seen it all, unless you have seen this trail. I took my kids when they were 3&5 and they did great. Highly Recommended. A favorite.

Hiked today and it was gorgeous. I got there at about 7-7:30 and there weren't too many people there, but tons of people got there around 9 or so. Multiple waterfalls and incredible lake at the top. Definitely recommend hiking shoes if you have them. There's lots of walking on rocks, wet rocks, and over creeks. Also, don't forget to pay for parking or have a pass.

This is the second fire lookout hike I’ve done. Did Gobbler’s Knob and this one back to back. The views at the lookout are second to none in the park. Stayed the night and slept on the walkway of the fire lookout. The hike is easy. The only semi strenuous part is the last mile from Eunice Lake up to the lookout. But nothing beats staying for the sunset, staying the night and seeing every star in the sky illuminating the mountain, and then waking up early enough to catch the sunrise.

Insanely beautiful hike! Did this two days ago. There’s a little snow at the top but most of it has melted so parts of the trail are pretty muddy. But beware...there’s LOTS of mosquitos here currently. My group and I camped up there for the night and we’ve never experienced anything like it. They swarmed us and we got home looking like we all had some crazy skin infection or disease. If the mosquitos weren’t as bad as they were, we could have enjoyed the area a little more! The lake was crystal clear, and the backdrop of the snow-covered peaks was picturesque and stunning. We even saw a family of mountain goats! This trail is very very very steep and involves some scrambling, so it’s more for advanced hikers. Worth it!

beautiful trail with wonderful views. the switch backs were gradual which was nice but still steep and long even when coming back from the lake. Bring a minimum of 2L of water!! Made this mistake and ended up eating snow on the way back. the section in snow was completley manageable in runners.

Arrived around 8am Sat morning and snagged the last parking spot. Small lot for such a popular spot. Apparently there's parking in the campground across the way. There are bathrooms at the TH. So just FYI...I found this a moderate ++ hike for me...I'm 70. Took me some time to get thru the rocky section mostly going up but coming down was really hard on my knees. Lots of tree roots and wet rock surfaces to maneuver. OK...enough. The trees are wonderful. awesome views, the smell of the forest, the waterfalls and the lake at the top with some lingering snow on the slope. All beautiful!!

Did this morning 7/15/18. It was super hot outside but this trail is almost all shaded it was felt great. Did get super busy by around 11am and BEWARE of all the potholes! No idea how none of the reviews I read didn’t mention this. Drove in my sedan and ate crap on a couple so I parked a mile away and walked the rest. And we had bees circling us as we were walking towards the start of the trail and a few on the hike that followed us for awhile so be careful if you are allergic. Getting to the falls was easy though. Took us 35 minutes.

Very pretty trail, nice waterfalls

Amazing!!! Absolutely wonderful views! Waterfalls and rivers the whole way up

Amazing views!!! Marmots and chipmunks everywhere! Remember your sunscreen cuz we forgot and 7 miles in the sun with the reflection of the snow left a nice burn....no tree canopy to shield ya. Totally totally unbelievably beautiful!!!
