Very rocky terrain but definitely has some good views.

Great trail... it has some woods and some beautiful views! Quite a bit of damage from a recent tornado!!

Set forth around 9 am in cold and drizzly weather, only one other vehicle parked at the trailhead. The change of scenery on the trail is by far on of my favorite parts of this hike. It goes from creekside with a few massive hemlocks next to a large rock overhang to a beautiful creekside trail , it then takes you beside coal mines, through boulder fields, waterfalls, mossy sinkholes, with calf burning ascents and descents, even under waterfalls, on top of beautiful overlooks, and finally to Climactic end at Foster Falls. This trail was well designed. Bravo.

Outstanding hike for multiple water features. Went with my 12 year old and we had a blast! The main Falls were breathtaking - but don’t stop there. Keep walking up the hill to Adams Falls, and when you loop around take the river upstream and there is another 60’ Falls about 300 yards upstream. Across the stream is also a curious cave.

Really nice hike. 4 waterfalls and a rugged trail. Interesting water features...some with no outlet. Be sure to take the Sheep Cave side trail. Not a beginner hike.

One of our absolute favorites! I’ve hiked it with my kids since they were in hiking backpacks! It can be a little intimidating with kids if your kids aren’t well exposed to diverse trails but we have a “serious” talk before each hike explaining that hikes are fun but not a playground. We must respect the environment and watch each step because it can be dangerous if we don’t give our full attention to what we are doing.

First time here. Outstanding trail. Beautiful falls. Be careful of falling icicles!

super tough hike, but very rewarding

Great park and it was a great day to be on the trail. The waterfalls are spectacular, especially after all the rains. Not a very difficult trial but I would not recommend it for younger children, it would be too easy for a small child to get swept into the river.

This trail is like a web of different trails all mixed in. Got turned around a couple times but nothing is too far out there you can’t find a sign quickly. Bridge is cool. Nature center is still under construction as of 1/9/19. Views are nice.

So so pretty. Definitely a little challenging but doable. Just have to pay attention to what you’re doing. I would be very reluctant to do this trail after some rain. A lot of rocks but well marked. Virgin Falls at the very end is worth it I promise!

My son and I went on the Hidden Lake Trail after his school day for the first time. it was an adventure for us! we loved finding all these off-trail paths. it was so beautiful as the sun set. Nature is a love of ours, and this trail was lovely.

Beautiful waterfall!! If you park in the parking lot, it’s the trail head straight across the road. Follow the white blazes and it’ll lead you down to the falls. Be sure to wear shoes that can get wet. If you want an added adventure, just before you get to the main falls, when you see the little bridge, turn left and explore the river.

The look outs near the top of the waterfall were closed because of structural damage but you can still get to the top. Best views are from the observation decks. Really short and easy hike. Don’t let the “strenuous trail” signs fool you. ;)

I loved it. Definitely one my favorite spots.

Did this trail twice. First time was a mistake. I entered the horse trail, not the hiking trail. The horse trail is more than twice as long as the hiking trail. I had to turn around at one point just to make sure I got out of there before dark, because I didn't bring a lot of gear. When I finally went back and did the hiking trail, it was the hike of a lifetime. Its amazing. There are a few little campsites along the way and a very old small cemetery. One gravestone is in good condition and they apparently died in 1860. 10/10 would recommend.

very pretty falls. short easy hike

great hike but better take note of the firwt sign you see it is strenous but well worth it. i do believe we will camp overnight sometime

I went after tons of rain, and I’m so glad I did! It was super muddy from the cemetery to the falls, so I would definitely recommend at least one trekking pole.

Once you get to the creek and see the falls and think you can’t go any further, put on some water shoes, cross the river, and keep going up.

Took my 26 pound dog and he loved it.

What a nice surprise!

My GPS clocked 8.25 miles and I went all the way to the top of the falls.

This is my 4th time doing this hike since it opened and while the trail markers have gotten so much better since opening — it seems that recent rains have washed out some of the trails and made them also very muddy and slippery so where good shoes and be cautious. That being said the waterfalls were gorgeous today!

I usually take doghole up to ravenspoint on the way up and fiery gizzard trail onthe way back from ravens point to break it up a little or vice versus. We did doghole to ravens up today and fiery gizzard back and like I mentioned above— it was very very muddy and slippery so if you go in the next few days be cautious and watch trail markers—but this is hands down one of my favorites and always will be.

Cummins Falls is an amazing hike, with water crossings and an incredible waterfall at the end. Since it has been turned into a state park, it is VERY crowded on weekends! I would recommend a very early start if you’re going on a weekend, or try and do it through the week. In the winter, it’s much more difficult to get to the falls, but it can be done. A Cookeville/ Gainesboro treasure for sure!

Fun day trip! Great scenery. Listened to other reviews and climbed the ledge at the pool and found the beginning of the falls. Well worth the climb.

We love this trail. Very muddy and slippery on the last mile to the falls tough climb back out. But overall an awesome hike we plan to return when dry
My GPS. Recorded 8 miles round trip and took 6 hrs spent about an hour at the falls.

Love this trail for a good challenge! Be ready for steep inclines and declines!

Awesome! Now my 2nd favorite hike and it was an easy trail .

Awesome trail. Very beautiful. Able to get close to the water.
