This definitely was a tough one for a day hike. Legs completely sore the day after, but extremely worth it. Most of the trail going up you’re surrounded by dense forests and will be going through many switchbacks. Once you get closer to the parking area at the top, the trail gets milder and easier. The parking area is a great location to refuel and buy snacks if needed. Then the last half mile is on a paved path to the top. The observation tower at the top was quite unique and views were amazing as you can see for miles in all directions. You are clearly able to tell you are at the tallest point in Georgia here. The path is very easy follow and relatively straightforward. Took a little less than 7 hours to complete. Definitely recommend, but be aware of a difficult and exhausting hike.

Short, easy hike with a wonderful view at the end! Highly recommend this trail if you’re looking for a quick, non strenuous trail

Climbed Table Rock 3/16. Good and strenuous climb. Nice weather day

great hike for kids. Just dont let them get too close to the edge! Beautiful view!

First, let me say I did read the reviews below but I didn’t get from any of them the difficulty of this trail. It was not marked well at all. If I had not downloaded a trail ap we would still be on the trail. It was a very steep and narrow trail 75% of the way. It says moderate but that means if you are an advanced hiker with good hiking shoes. The trail had beautiful scenery but was also wet and slick with water dripping off larger rocks and at points you will be hanging right over the lake. Don’t get me wrong it will be great for anyone experienced in difficult trails. I would not suggest kids unless they have some experience as well. I will do it again but with the correct shoes and equipment. Thank goodness I had my walking stick. It came in very handy.

This was a very cool spot to visit. There is 175 wooden steps to the top of the falls which are the biggest in the state of Georgia. There will be plenty of people enjoying the falls so if you want to be away from people this isn't the spot. You won't forget some of the views and sights and is a must if you're visiting the state of Georgia.

Nice state park. 5$ entry. Very Family friendly and easy to access, hence it's pretty popular. Don't let that stop you from going. Good views. Caught a ranger giving a talk about Owls at the lodge. 15$ buffet, to stuff yourself after hiking. Great view from lodge.

Not as hard as you might think. Pick a nice clear day to enjoy the views. Great trail.

It’s steep at first but pence your on top it’s beautiful

uphill almost the entire way with some rock scrambling ... great hike with amazing views!

Great trail! Lots of variety in terrain type. Moderate hike with awesome views of the lake. Will definitely be doing again.

Went to ATKO today. Took the stairs to the top of the falls, which I highly recommend. It’s tough but take your time and it’s not THAT bad. Well work the views. Visit the lodge while you’re up there. Took the East Ridge trail back to the visitors center. Great weather today!!

Easy for its length. Not even bad in the rain. Not the most entertaining hike though

Be sure to review those written below. They were helpful. It is about 100 yards on paved road from end of initial trail to main trial. Look in left side of road for arrow marking. Initial part takes less time since fairly flat and through woods. Last 1/2 better views but very winding and more rugged. Loved views and outcropping rocks.

Such a great area, everything you would need for all ages. Because of this it is extremely busy, I recommend getting there as early as you can to avoid the crowds and kids. $5 parking with lots of available spots. Great for a quick workout or a full day of hiking and picnicking. My personal favorite, if you've already experienced the waterfall before, is taking the East Ridge Trail up the mountain and taking the stairs back down. Definitely broke a sweat and was ready for a break when I got to the top.

Beautiful views and massive waterfall

Beautiful falls. Lots of stairs that can be wet. Close to parking which makes it nice but also means many people.

There are more routes to explore the trail. I uploaded the trail map photo.

My wife and I did this trail today and I definitely recommend it. There is a new parking area from what I understand the old one is roped off, but it is posted where the new is located just around the corner to the left. There is an approach trail through the wooded area that comes out on the paved road again before turning back into the woods to the left, just follow the arrows painted on the asphalt and it will lead you right to the kiosk where the actual trail begins. Trail is blazed in white. I large portion is along Lake Martin with some great views of Chimney Rock and other islands. I recommend taking plenty of water and snacks. The first mile is relatively easy, but the 2 plus miles along the lake I would rate difficult. Very steep in places even to the point of being on all fours lol. Keep your eyes peeled for deer and other wildlife we saw one of the biggest bucks I’ve ever seen! The trail itself is a loop hiked counterclockwise and then the approach trail and short paved road walk is done the same as when you entered! Hope this is helpful to all and enjoy yourself.

Lookout was incredible!

Beautiful views and waterfall. It’s easier if you hike to the top and come down the stairs but it’s more difficult to enjoy the waterfall that way. Your backs to it most of the time. Well worth the trip!

The trail was demanding but rewarding from the view

This trail is very nice and the falls are breathtaking. I recommend starting at the bottom of the falls and ending at the top. Some of the views from the top are great. This trail is awesome and I recommend it for all ages and this trail is defiantly for beginners. Plan to stay for around one or two hours. This trail is great and I would definitely go back.

Good hike beginning is very steep leaving a steep hike out. Great views at the mountains edge.

Would not suggest for first time hikers. Beautiful small waterfalls, and the top of Table Rock was well worth the workout. 10/10

Great views of Atlanta and surrounding area at the summit. Snack and drinks at the summit as well. Bring the family for a fun time.
