Great hike today with Stl female trekkers.

Fun trail with great scenery. Leaves made it difficult to see the trail in a few places, but it was well marked, so we didn't have much trouble.

Start from the parking lot at the Meeting building and go up the Overlook Trail which looks over the river. At the top the trail starts and follows the bluff along the river. There is a fence to keep you from straying too close. It then meanders down the hill to the creek leaving you to walk back up the hill to the parking lot. Very pretty views.

Only thing that would make this trail better is if it was longer. Starts very steep by the Fisher cave bldg going up and along the top of the bluffs. Ends by following the bluffs at the bottom, with even a cave you can go into by climbing the staircase half way up the cliff.

This is a must! Did first two miles with my dog counterclockwise. A few nice spots in canyon right away after paved trail. Took the brown cut off trail due to time which was about 2 miles in and cutoff was pretty short. Wasn’t sure if people were talking about mainly hiking through the canyon most of the way to see more or what, but that what it looked like when you first reach it. . But will start clockwise next time. Would be pretty to see water. But perfect time for the colored trees.

I really like this trail. There was a clear path most of the way and multiple changes in elevation. It wasn’t really high but enough to keep it interesting. I passed several hikers along the way, but overall very quiet. The only thing that was missing is a beautiful lookout!

Beautiful

Quick hike for active hikers, a nice stroll for beginners with some decent altitude. We managed it in roughly 35-40mins with two dogs and a couple of short stops. As said already, there is a perimeter fence on the bluffs so the views are restricted. Overall a good trail for a quicky or a decent running workout.

Nice overlooks. Crowed but nice trail. My boys loved the nearby train and the water

This trail has it all- hills in and out of the trees, a fantastic view at the top, off-paths for bicycles, and runs right by the river. It’s a local favorite.

Great views all the way through, I would recommend this hike. Prepare yourself for the armada of mosquitoes though haha!

nice trail... took 1 hour 15 min.

Pretty hike! You have to go off the main trail if you really want to explore the canyons. We passed quite a few people and a few dogs.

I loved this trail!

The Hogsback Trail is a 1.16 mile long loop trail that you can access from the Overlook Trail near the meeting center.
The trail is pretty rugged but an easy feat. It has fences along the edge to keep you from getting too close to the edge of the cliffs overlooking the Missouri River. Therefore, views during the summer months aren’t too great here unless you’re willing to risk the $1,000 fine and duck through the fence real quick. I took the trail looking for scenic views so not having any very clear shots, I turned back at the switchback down the hill. The Overlook Trail is where I recommend going in this park if you want to see some scenic views!

This park is a gem!

This is my favorite trail!!! Always clean. Everyone is so friendly. Almost everyone has their dogs there! Beautiful scenery, great spots for pictures!!!

very nice trail, but not clearly marked once you are off in canyon part. very beautiful scenery and wildlife

Great trail, lots of shade. Good when you want to get in a quick hike.

Nice trail!

Very fun and quick trail. I was back to my car in about 45 min with a few stops along the way. Well kept and I only passed a few people along the way. There’s some nice shade from all of the tree coverage, too.

Short trail with interesting features.

If you go right at the start there's a nice .75 miles with a lot of elevation although not too steep - a couple gradual switcbacks. the rest is mostly flat and beautiful terrain. no bluffs, no streams, although a nice Creek at the end.

For a hot day was a great shaded trail! It was 90 degrees but shaded with a nice breeze, it didn’t feel bad at all. We hiked down to the canyon and was well worth it. I would not go if there was a chance of rain it looks like it could flood easily.

This well blazed wooded loop trail is probably best hiked during the fall or spring when there are fewer leaves and you can see the valley the Meramec River flows through. It would be a nice trail for trail running as it has some nice ascents and descents and is rocky in parts.

A very short out and back walk to a cave that has been closed due to White Nose Syndrome. The trailhead is a little hard to find. From the parking area walk up the hill toward the brown cabins. The trail starts at the tree line half way up to the cabins.

Short but fun trail. The trail is steep and rocky in parts and passes mostly through forest, although there is one overlook of the valley below. The bluffs and Indian Cave are interesting. The cave is one of the few in the park you can still walk back into.
