Starter Trails Map

This park is closed until further notice due to flooding from Harvey.

Easy hike/walk. Trails were not clearly marked and this app did not show all the trails the park map did.

Great short hike with history and isn’t heavily used. Good to get away from heavily trafficked trails.

Ironwood and lower half of Barred Owl (had to backtrack out) Trails are open and very nice, but the Deer Walk, Sycamore, Fishbone, Brazos and Copperhead Trails are still closed from flood damage.

I will keep the 5 star rating going. It's beautiful. Easy easy for those that mountain bike. However, bridge after bridge after bridge is pretty cool. Watch out for snakes. My wife ran one over.....don't tell her but it was hilarious with legs up above handlebars.

Very well maintained, quite, and unique. Take your time and enjoy. Did almost all of this trail within a loop plus connectors that we did in November. Some day, I would like to see it in it's wet season.

First off most reviews don't show the main trail at this park, the main trail is a straight trail that connects between the loop trail and the oak flat loop near the entrance. The trails easy to hike expect muddy shoes if it's rained recently and the mosquitos are very bad in summer time.

A great trail for a beginner or for families. Six foot wide gravel trail and nice bridges. I walked it and never saw a soul.

Trails are poorly marked and maintained, as are the campsites, but the views are spectacular.

Easy and beautiful trail. The brewery tour was fabulous and interesting! The grounds are pretty, well maintained and an easy hike. Great place for children or elderly. Enjoyed this hidden spot

Very well maintained trail. I had fun and was 2 weeks post-op from knee scope and had a blast.

Not as secluded as hoped for. Goes through a lot of loud campsites, but the views of the lake were pretty sweet.

Nice easy trail, good for walking your dog or enjoying the outdoors with your family. Trail is crushed granite and wooden decking in marsh areas.

There are a couple of nice short trails here which are mostly shaded among the pretty pine trees. The trail has a duck pond, butterfly garden and a nice boardwalk. There are also horse rides available at the stable.

I find this to be a somewhat overrated ride. Unless you have a real fascination with large carnivorous reptiles, find another park to go to. I realize that it may have it's own beauty but, I've been there a few times and each time I went I wondered why I even bothered. I certainly wouldn't take my young kids there as you can get too close for comfort to the gators and if you know anything about them, you know there is no outrunning them easily. These are just my opinions. Thanks.

This Trail Is Really Easy It Just Runs The Length Of The Park And Dead Ends On Both Ends.

One of many great trails in the park. We did not see any gators on this one, but it was nice. Great for hiking or biking. When biking, I suggest planning your route to connect to other trails and make a big loop.
