Beautiful area. But the trails were not marked well at all. I saw trail names and colors painted on trees, but not at all intersections. There were a few intersections where we had to just pick a way to go. Went with three other adults and a baby. Do Not Bring a baby carriage unless it’s used in off roading and rough terrain. Lots of hills, but great for a first timer without a baby carriage

This is a great place to start off roading. I just started and went there with my buddy and there were some nice mud puddles and some rocky areas... definitely easy but can give you an idea of what you need to get I order to do more difficult off roading trails.

nice trail but not clearly marked. A few times we came out to behind someone's house and had to turn around. We also ended up on the complete opposite of the actual pratt farm area. Do not follow the path that goes with the power lines it leads you out of pratt farm.

Beautiful well maintained trails. We did not go the whole loop but rather cut around between trails, it was easy to do this with everything being so well marked.

Truly awesome! Great for hiking and mountain biking. Can't wait to go back!

A very easy hike, but really beautiful views. We went during peak fall foliage and it was a pretty amazing sight. You are also able to visit the site of Thoreau’s cabin (there’s also a model of it). It’s $8 to park but there is a pretty nice visitor center and we saw a lot of people swimming at the beaches (even in October).

A beautiful pond with an interesting history, quite crowded however

Absolutely beautiful, especially on an Autumn or Spring day.

Beautiful trails and water!!

We come here weekly and we love it! Trails are marked and well maintained! You hardly see anyone on the trails, you may pass 2/3 other hikers/bikers. After reading other reviews if you’re seriously complaining about bugs in the woods and off leash dogs in a nearly deserted forsest maybe this isn’t the place for you.

Very pretty, perfect for an easy medium/long walk on a nice day. Lots of turtles and birds to see! The paths closer to the visitor center (around the ponds and mill brook) are wide and clear. The paths that head further away (past the fields) are less maintained and buggy in the heat. I imagine this place is beautiful in the fall!

Early morning walk, lots of turtles sunning themselves, saw a large great blue heron, deer, garden snake, frogs ect., very fun!

Great trails and epic pump Track.

I've been hiking here for probably 15-20 years and have covered most of the trails. I like hiking here BUT there are a few things to take note of. First is that there are a LOT of off leash dogs. My dog doesn't like other dogs, so I can't bring him here because big dogs bounding up to him with no leash scare him. I also run into bikers on the trails that prohibit them pretty often. I also agree with some of the other reviews that it tends to be pretty buggy.

Overall, I agree with most reviews on here, it just depends what things bug you and what things don't. Its pretty well populated so you feel secure but if you're someone who likes secluded hiking, you won't get that until you get back towards route 1 quite a bit. The trails are generally well marked BUT there are a lot of them and they criss cross and overlap a lot so you'll definitely need a map with a marked planned route or a GPS/app to help you out

Tooooo buggy. Started off with all natural bug repellent, did not work. Switched to deep woods Off, did not work. Just ended up turning around. Not to mention the continued Route 1 traffic noise.

Great place! Walked the path recommended at the entrance for young children, approximately 1.5 miles. My three kids loved it (ages 6,4,4). Lots of turtles, ducks, and some frogs. Waterfalls, too! Would love to go back and do other trails! We packed a snack and enjoyed the scenery.

Beautiful! So much to explore here!!!

Pratt farm is an absolute hidden gem. Many trails off the beaten path and the woods are beautiful. I can’t wait to make this a weekly hike.

great spot for a sunny afternoon. crowds should be expected.

My happy place a lot of the time! Great trails and lots of friendly people.

Great first time here. Did the green trail. Didn't get lost. Will come back and try the red trail next. Trail markings were good.

Trail is very badly marked in several places. The area near the golf course is one of them. Got lost and had to ask some golfers for directions but still a very nice trail overall.

A nice trail to walk and to take a swim. It is quite scenic but it is hard to find much wildlife due to the crowd. The visitor center is really nice and don't miss Henry David Thoreau's hut.

Nice trails, great for hiking or mtn biking.

We really enjoyed this place. Very family friendly and fairly flat terrain that makes for an easy hike. We saw some beautiful wildlife and flowers (turtles, Lillys and Lilly pads, dragon flies, etc). We only hiked about 1.5 miles and plan to go back to see more. I definitely recommend bringing bug spray as there were a lot of mosquitoes in the wet areas.

A pleasant walk in the woods on an idyllic day. It’s quite surprising to find such serenity just off North St.

This is a beautiful wildlife sanctuary with a variety of trails. On our first visit, we took my frail elderly mother. We borrowed their all-terrain wheelchair and took my mother on the short accessible trail by the lily pond. For our second visit (without my mother), we did a longer hike along the millpond path, Charles River loop, and frog pond trail. The nature is varied with ponds, small waterfalls, the Charles River, woods, and a few meadows. We saw a turtle, frog, deer, a flock of wild turkeys, and numerous other birds. Trails are generally well-marked, and we only had a few points of confusion.

Wonderful property. Started on north side and went into Trustees property too. All in there must be around 4,000 acres to explore. Worked my way around the pond then headed south to the reservoir and camping area. I wonder why that one area is closed off? Some of the single track is too rooty and rocky for my taste but it's good stuff. Will be back.

Love this place. Nice place to get out in the woods on a regular basis.

amazing trails, I come here regularly. I love Lake Rico.
