I didn’t actually do this complete shorter trail, but the views at the summit are amazing! One of the best hike views I’ve seen. There is a longer trail you can do but I do not recommend it unless you’re with someone who has done it before. It is not marked at all until one point and it is extremely easy to miss that sign! We missed it and ended up hiking 5+ extra miles that day. I’d stick to this shorter one and it is absolutely worth the incline!

Logging road 5847 was closed so we had to take an alternate route after having already traveled up the road awhile. It was very time consuming and I felt there wasn’t enough signage. Short hike, nice trail to walk on. The water was a nice break. Will have to go during a different time of year because it looks nothing like some of the pictures posted.

Great views!

Nice out and back hike. We were able to climb to the upper part of the falls and the kids enjoyed playing in the water. Really shaded area with some beautiful trees and pools.

Great trail for being right in town

Not great for walking if you start in DT Cottage Grove. Better to just skip past all the grand vistas of the Walmart, car dealerships, and junkyards. The first three miles or so (up to Mosby Creek Trailhead) just run parallel to the road, definitely not a nature trail and I passed some pretty shady characters (not trees). Next time I'll just park at Mosby.

Agree with other recent review. There are signs when pulling in saying to lock your car and must admit did see what seemed to be sketchy characters in the area.
Ok hike. Good for a workout.

Went late in the season. Not a lot of water was flowing but still an enjoyable experience. I plan on coming back when the water is really raging.

It’s a great easy hike. Takes about an hour to get to the trailhead from Cottage Grove and about about 30 minutes to get to the waterfall and back. Combined with some other trails in the area and it’s a decent day.

Nice trail! Mostly well maintained except the southern rim is along a gully where it’s getting rough. The recorded starting point is North Trailhead where there’s no parking pay station at the parking lot. Just less than a mile away to the right at the main parking lot (West Trailhead) , there’re pay station and bathrooms.

Stunning view and worth the hike!

Short, but beautiful hike. The falls are gorgeous. While the hike is short, the falls are pretty enough to spend a while taking in the view. Bring a book and a picnic, and hang out for a while. Dip your toes in the cool water.

Great hike along the river! We covered nearly 15 miles and enjoyed the waterfall at the halfway point. Escaped without a single mosquito bite! Easy to refresh with a dip in the river at almost any point. Looking forward to camping there next time!

We managed to go about 15 miles, water is super clear, plenty of good swimming stops along the way. There are a hang full of roots and rocks in the path, so watch your toes. bug level was very low. 7/8/2018

Watch your stuff- high crime area. I love Mt. Pisgah, but after my car got broken into & I lost stuff it makes it a less fun place.
It’s also become a college kid hangout these days for some reason- they swim in the polluted river here!

Water is clear and beautiful and the waterfalls are awesome!

For a moment away from the city and yet in the city...this is the place! We like to bike this trail in late May/June when the ponds are hopping with life. There's so many places to take a moment and enjoy the life around yoh!!

Great view!! 15 mile drive up windy road. Short and steep hike.

Just a short 1 mile round trip to a cascading waterfall. Lots of moss and rocks makes this waterfall very pretty. There is a picnic bench at the beginning of the trail as well as at the base of the falls.

Nice short hike to beautiful falls. Would be a lovely place for a picnic with young kids. Easy to get to,

Nice trail, very easy slopes up and down but not too much. Beautiful scenery the whole trip. Falls were amazing. Picnic table at trail head and at the falls. Very short climb to second waterfall tier. If you feel adventurous after that you can keep climbing to the top but you might do some rock climbing so come prepared. Wounderful place!!! We love it!

Took trail 1 to the summit, and came back down via 36 and 3. I found trail 1 to be steep, not particularly scenic, and just kind if lackluster. the view from the summit is pretty nice, but not as nice as Spencer's Butte, which is a prettier hike too, albeit far more trafficked. At least there weren't many other people (and I was there in a Sunday afternoon) but there are also lots of trails that are unmarked, and thus kind of confusing to stay on the one you planned.

Worth going once, but unless I go with someone who knows the area better than I, I probably won't be going back. to be fair, I haven't explored the arboretum yet, which I'm sure is pleasant enough

Great trailer with lots of options, variety of wild flowers, and scenery.

Amazing hike just went end of june great hike made it up in an impala, but would suggest a 4x4 due to pit holes!
