Easy hike to do with kids. Beautiful lake, good for swimming etc.

It was fun! I did the short walk then hiked down to the actual falls. Gorgeous views!

My favorite hike of our vacation. Beautiful scenery.

We arrived at 8 AM on a Thursday at the end of July and the parking lot was half full.

Such a beautiful trail! Well groomed! Beautiful wild flowers surrounding all over + the lovely sound of the rushing water. And then the most spectacular views at the lake! This is a must trail for all!

Great trail! Easy with kids. Absolutely gorgeous views. We stopped along the way and our boys drank water from the stream, swam in the lakes and wadded in the streams. It was a great time.

Gorgeous lake, beautiful scenery, easy hike, great fishing what more could you ask for?

it's a beautiful hike into God's country.

just love this place . it's a beautiful hike into God's country.

Easy hike to a beautiful lake.

Very nice leisurely walk with some great mountain views and a large lake that your dog can run around! Easy walk, if you're looking for any sort of challenge then this is not for you, if not then I recommend it!

Such a fun, beautiful hike with the family. My 4 and 7-year-old kids did great! The slight uphill trek from the trailhead tired them out a little, but after picnicking by the lake and dipping their legs in the cold water, they perked up. A couple weird, tiny leech-like things attached themselves to our feet in the water—not sure what those were—but I found them and got them off quickly so no harm done.

beautiful and easy walk

Only went as far as Heart Lake. Very scenic stroll without any drastic elevation climbs. Great trail to do with the kids. There is a lot more traffic than the trail to Ruby Lake/Mono Pass but not oppressive by any means.

Fished for an hour at Heart Lake but was unsuccessful. Was worth it for the views alone though.

Nice easy trail

5/29/18 0700hrs - hiking boots highly recommended. Still considerable snowpack on the southwest slope, especially around the bridges. Much nicer to walk on the beach than sticking to the trail.

Beautiful views. Just went last weekend and the trail still has some snow and icy at some points as well as soft snow near the mouth of long lake. Long lake still pretty much frozen. But highly recommend for the views.

The trail recording sends you to some cabins but not to the falls.

Beautiful views from the top looking at the lakes and top of the falls. Have to go down to the campsite to see the full waterfall but it was worth it.

Very nice up the North Fork Trail. We hiked until the snow was too deep just before First Lake.

Camped at Box Lake and it was the bomb.

Absolutely gorgeous trail. Probably my favorite lake trail in California. Not too hard either.

Great short trail. The altitude wears you down a little but trees are great.

One of my favorite easy pleasant hikes in the Sierra Nevada.

Took the family and the dog...beautiful weather and a beautiful hike!

Awesome trail. Great views. Highly recommended for all skill levels even though there are a few minor climbs. I just went today at almost the end of summer. Go. You won't regret it

always been my favorite and it was good to hike it after so many years away.

Must go down to the campground parking area to see it from the bottom Such an amazing peaceful time to sit watch and listen

Gorgeous area, breathtaking views. Some snow still visible on slopes and peaks in the distance. Area is quite popular for day hikers and fishing so it was great to camp off trail -- book your permits well in advance if you want to go on a weekend.

Took kids ages 9 and 12 on their first backpack trip. Easy trail with minimal elevation gain so that wasn't an issue. Mild altitude sickness experienced by one of the kids and one of the adults.

Mosquitoes were fierce especially at dusk and in the morning. Be warned that natural type non-Deet repellents do NOT work! Mosquito nets highly recommended.
