Spring Hikes Map

Beautiful!!! But quite hard considering I’m out of shape & it’s up up up the whole way to the lake!!!! Worth it though!!!!

Very pretty scenery through woods ending at mountains and a glacier. Had lunch at end and took in the views.

Great views at the top.

Great easy winter trail. Good for dogs as well.
Well maintained - definitely need crampons!

Recommend ice picks! Awesome trail though in good shape

favorite hike so far! Absoloutley beautiful

Great winter hike, minimal elevation and very protected, definitely need crampons towards the end as it got pretty icy.

Such a beautiful short hike in the winter!
Don’t forget to say hi to the trolls!

Great trail for snowshoeing. I’d definitely come back again.

Absolutely breathtaking! Definitely advise to wear some sort of traction on your boots however as it is icy in spots.

We went on this walk while considering this location for an outdoors wedding. It is a very easy walk at an absolutely stunning site - the water, the
Mountains and the great blue skies. What is there to not like?

All 3 different falls are unique and spectacular.

Sure, you have to pass a cement plant. That’s such a small part of the trail and it keeps getting better and better. It exceeded my expectations. Lots to explore once you get to the waterfall.

Great hike for kids or a quick trek for adults. Not as much traffic in the winter, which is better for photo opportunities.

A pleasant jaunt up to the frozen falls. Snowshoes may have been overkill, path is well groomed. But splitting off into the woods is always fun with those snowshoes strapped on. Some ice climbers on the falls was cool to watch. Short hike for a quick troll stroll. But don’t forget to pay the Troll Toll.

Very short.
good option if you are planning to spend the big part of the day skiing in canmore nordic center.

This walk will take you around 35 minutes.
Around 4:30 PM we started.

Amazing views, easy to hike. Very close from Canmore .
be prepared to wear warm clothes because once you are walking in the canyon, it is cold.

You need ice cleats but is a fantastic experience to walk on iced watrer spring leading to water falls.

Did the canyon trail hike on February 9th. Needed yaktrax on the ice even with fresh snow. Do not recommend going without some sort of ice cleats or grips. Highly encourage trekking poles or ski poles for those less steady on their feet, especially coming back down. Worth the hike to see the ice climbers. We went past the climbers and blazed a trail in the new snow up past the cave to the right. Had lunch on a boulder and enjoyed the views

Awesome hike completed Jan 30, 2018.

An easy hike and fun hike to do to get out and hike during the winter months!

Nice hike for a beginner. Temp minus 21, no wind. The trail was in excellent shape. Love the waterfalls

Great afternoon hike!

Agree with others on the plant and needing good boots. Cleats help even more. Then again always wear good boots? Nice scenery otherwise and enjoyed it as a second hike because its easy. For an easy but longer day do both Grassi lakes and this one. Also found no one ventured past the double waterfalls and you can explore further and see the hoodoos etc.

Nice hike. Passing the plant wasn't great, but once you get past the noise the walk up to the falls is beautiful. Just before the falls is some hieroglyphics on the rock.
Wear something water proof so you can slide down the ice in some places (great spot at the falls), or let your kids, if you're boring.

great little hike to start the new year off right.

It was icy walking through the canyon. Ice cleats will certainly help. There are some slushy spots to make it easier. Water proof clothing for kids who like to play, our kid was soaking by the end. Was a nice day out. One thing is walking past the factory place wasn’t our favourite. Waterfalls looked great and you can see people climbing them. Helmets wouldn’t be a bad idea while walking through.

Short and simple but plenty to be awed with. :)

One of our favorite places to go and relax. Beautiful scenery and nice to have a small lake that is used for a variety of activities. Wading, swimming, beginner cliff jumping, scuba, catch and release fishing, etc.

Nice little winter hike. I used crampons but could probably do with just some good boots. On a nice day people were pouring in at around noon. Get there early to enjoy the solitude.

It was a good hike. I did it today, it was quite icy. Wear proper shoes / boots for water and ice.
