This is an awesome trail for a quick hike.

Anyone giving this a bad review probably just has a bad attitude.

The falls are beautiful, and there are some great views.

Sunday afternoon was a great time to do this. I only ran into a few people.

did this hike today. very steep in places very beautiful wooded hike with the sound of the river always near and the falls at the end was amazing. well worth the hike.

great hike with great views!! made for a nice escape from the smokey valley too. there is one spot that was a bit sketchy, but our dog did it no problem. you basically climb up some trees roots hanging over the trail. the falls were so cold, so I don't recommend standing under them. ;) and the flowers were beautiful too!!! I'd definitely do this one again.

Great and rewarding hike. The trail was much better once you turn left off into the wooded area around 1.5 miles I believe. Beautiful meadows with butterflies cross crossing the trail all along the way. Excellent work out and views at the top. Very shaded in the morning especially in the forested area.

Great hike. Once you get into the woods its much prettier and has an exciting cliff side view at the end. If you go at the right time the wildflower meadows might be blooming and that's a nice bonus.

Beautiful hike! Everything was green and lush on the trail. Lots of people coming down from seeing the sunrise on Timp but the trail wasn't too crowded. When we got to the falls there was only one other small group there so we got some peace and quiet and cooled off next to the water. Our little dog loved it too! Good hike for families and people of all ages!

Wasn't sure where the loop went, so when I came out on the road I turned around and came back the way I came up. It was pretty, and there were lots of animals in the bushes. Met a coyote on the way up and down.

Awesome hike. My brother and I have played soccer our whole lives and are very active and decided on our off day to do this hike. We aren't in peak physical condition right now, but we are probably in better shape than the average person. We found it to be a good challenge, especially the final third of the ascent. It's steep as heck. Took us about 3.5 hrs to reach the summit and 1.5 hrs to get back down with some running. Definitely bring plenty of water. All in all the view is great and the trail is beautiful. Would definitely recommend it.

We loved this trail! I went with my brother and 6 month baby in a carrier. We tried it once in the heat of the day and couldn’t make it with my daughter but tried again in the morning and it was perfect for all of us. Make sure you to take the right at the first fork. There is a part where you have to climb up some tree roots but it was not too bad. There were several elderly people who were hiking it just fine. In total it was about 2-2.5 hours round trip. (With lots of time enjoying the falls.)

Fun hike! We went mid-day and we're grateful to have some occasional shade. I would recommend doing this hike in the morning when it is not as hot. The waterfall is definitely worth it when you get there!

Beautiful scenery.

Just did this this morning! It was amazing! It was definitely difficult for me but SO WORTH THE EFFORT AND THE END VIEW!

Pretty hike, fairly easy, rewarding views. This can be completed in two hours or less at a good pace. Easy to run down for those so inclined. Overall fun hike with a group.

LOVE this hike. Great for kids. Awesome views. Short. One sketchy section for little ones but no big deal if you hold their hands.

This is a fairly straightforward climb to a waterfall that is, as others have noted, pretty dry this season. The first 1.3 - 1.5 miles of the ascent are rather featureless. Once you reach the higher altitudes, you start to get some views of the canyon and Alpine and Lehi beyond. It is a pleasant trail, one of the busier ones we hiked, but probably not one we will repeat.

As to the fork at the log referred to in previews reviews: there is a sign post pointing to Scout Falls which takes you on a short (but slightly difficult climb) and, if you take the other fork, you climb above the falls and get a nice view of the area.

The great: not much other than the clear paths.

The good: some of the views are nice and it is a good workout.

The not so great or good: busy trail, much of the trail is meh, a long way to drive to the trailhead.

Love how many different views are on this hike. It is definitely worth it to put on your list of hikes to do.

The trail itself is beautiful right now. Lots of shade and wildflowers. It is a steady incline the whole way to the falls, but is very manageable. The falls themselves were a bit disappointing due to the lack of snowpack from this past winter. Like others have mentioned take timpanooke trail and stay right at the fork with the log. From there it’s a few gradual switchbacks to the falls. Word of caution, getting to the actual falls requires you to do a little bit of climbing up some rocky area ensnared with tree roots and the falls themselves are on a somewhat sheer cliff face.

This hike amazed me! I began at sundown on the 4th of July and got to the peak at about 11 PM. My goal was to shoot a time lapse of the fireworks. I loved it even though I got there a little late to get the best of the show! 2700 feet to the top is no joke! It is uphill for about 90% of the hike up, but it is not as bad as it sounds! I highly recommend this hike!

Here is the fireworks time lapse I made from the peak: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX-RrUnv9tw.

the falls had little to no water and the trail wasn't well posted. have to be careful you don't continue on the timp trail.

Beautiful scenery with a few fun spots to maneuver on the trail

Fantastic hike. Our GPS clicked at 7.5 miles vs the 7.0 miles AllTrails indicates.

Also, lots of people said it was between 2 hrs and 2 hrs and 30 min hike. I Don’t think that’s realistic unless you run part/all and take no breaks.

Our total trip was 2 hrs 50 min. We hiked fast up with almost no breaks, took a 20-30 min break at the top, and jogged the way down anywhere it wasn’t steep (14 min miles on way down). For most hikers, I would expect this to be 3.5-4 hrs.

Pretty steep, but not bad if you hike a lot. Took the turnoff with the black rope, to see the bottom of the falls. Rock climbed, next to the falls, up to the upper falls.

Was an enjoyable few hours with my brother and his 10 year old daughter. She was a champ and handled the hike very well. She also rock climbed up the falls with us.

Packed on the weekends, so if you can do it on a weekday you'll be glad you did.

Scenery is beautiful and it's not a real long hike.

A ton of loose rock on the trail knocks off a star for me - other than that this hike was great. The waterfall is unbelievably cool and it's one of the harder 4-mile hikes around.

If you love Rocky terrain and lots or horse doodoo this is the trail for you. It's a great workout with very little to see when you get to the falls (if you can find it) not much shade and only a couple of trees to sit under. I wouldn't recommend this trail to anyone!

Recommend hiking as a loop. Take the normal trail in and traverse the 5 Creek crossings. They weren't deeper than halfway up my calf at any of them. Then on your way out take the shortcut trail back. Was a great loop hike and big change in scenery. We hiked in 95 degree heat. Left early morning and the hike down was no problem. Hiking out and climbing back up the wall at the end to get to the car was a good challenge. If it's over 90 I would say this trail rating increases to hard. We both took 3 liters of water in camelbacks and 3 water bottles. GPS made this hike much easier! HIGHLY RECOMMEND GPS!!! Can't imagine trying to decipher all the spinoff trails from the real trail without it!

I love this hike, but it is demanding. It’s straight up for a good bit of the way, but then opens to fields of wild flowers. Views are amazing and worth the work!

Fantastic trail. Beautiful, family-friendly while still being a bit of a challenge. Beautiful falls at the end. Can get crowded, but if you go early it's just you and the wilderness! Watch for wild life; I saw a mother moose and 2 calves with her!

Probably my favorite hike in Utah County. Great workout but not too hard. Nothing like standing next to that American flag on the 4th of July, overlooking the valley, blasting Springsteen on your speakers. That, my friends, is as American as it gets.
