We went there with our dog. It was pretty difficult for us... first part of the trail without shade, so it was very hot, also was very noisy since you walk near the road. The second part was more shady (we also saw a snack). Next to the creek it’s really nice and there are some places where you can get closer and get inside the creek. Overall it was nice.

I did this loop based on the high rating and the overall length of the hike and was VERY disappointed. I’m shocked it’s gotten such rave reviews as it is primarily walking on wide fire roads, and the coastal trail is more like walking around produce fields and along the old railroad track. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, sadly. I’m glad to say I’ve visited the park, though. Hope others have a better experience.

It is paved and goes mostly through a golf club. It was awful.

Great hike. You do hear the highway, but it's not bad, I wouldn't let that deter you. cool views and there are multiple trails connected of you want to go further.

I hiked on Friday and not many people there. I customized the trail, i used the lower part of wilder ridge loops trails to horse trails, had to walked on the side of highway 1 for a bit since there are private vegetations across to reach to ohlone bluff trail. For the most part its not a shady trail, a lot of poison oaks at the lower wilder ridge loop trail. Recommending long pant, shade and water. Its an easy trail for the most part. In land trails are small but well marked. However, gps in this apps is so helpful.

Well I’m a newbie to hiking-this was not easy for me, but I’ve done it three times and am getting faster-lots if uphill but a great hike

Not trail running per se, but I would run the entire length of LGCT to it’s termination at Meridian Ave in San Jose, a round trip of 18 miles, as part of a marathon training. It was perfect.

Very nice place and you can do it on a lunch break. Very good view

Fantastic trail, highly recommend as day getaway.

It was okay. Nice views but a paved and boring trail that goes through a golf course. Would probably go right at the parking lot instead of left if I come here again

From a hiking with children standpoint this is a fantastic trail. There are several parking lots in the area and each appears to have bathroom facilities. The trails are well maintained and a mix of dirt and pavement. The nice thing here is that you are never far from beach access or any of the smaller walking trails along the bluffs. This is great when the kids want to choose their own adventure. As of this writing the fee to enter and park is $10.00.

Great all-around, easy trail that provides easy access to services should the need arise.

Pretty little walk going past some lovely coastal views. Hang out by one of the beaches and watch the waves crashing onto boulders. Peaceful ♥️

Scenic walk alongside beach cliffs. First meanders around Four Seasons properties, then crosses a golf course, and then continues along fields. Fairly popular but not too crowded. Several opportunities to go down to the water towards the southern side of the walk. Windy.

The trail was nice and easy... meaning it was paved and went next to the Ritz.... it’s certainly not a trail it’s for golf carts. The beach is the nicest part at the end and you can let your dogs run off leash. But be prepared for people from the hotel and golf course looking at you oddly as you hike past.

nice area for an easy walk, enjoy the scenery and ocean breeze

Wonderful morning workout in peaceful surroundings.

When I do this beach walk, I park on the beach side of the road at the entrance to Dolphin Beach, near the intersection of Sumner and Dolphin Dr. The trail is a staircase down with some garbage cans and dog poop bags. The trailhead takes you down to the beach via a dry creek known as Bush Gulch.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this is not so much a trail as a literal walk on the beach. It really is a wonderful place, with a seemingly endless, wide open expanse of sand, big surf, and tall, jutting bluffs dotted with coastal trees and plants. Often times the cliffs open up into small sandy coves, gulches, or inlets, areas with soft grass and sometimes flowers, and large pieces of driftwood that make great places to sit, where friends and I have camped and had bonfires. The full moon looks beautiful rising over the cliffs. On clear days, there are views of the Santa Lucia Mountains and the Monterey Peninsula on the south side of the bay, and the Santa Cruz Mountains to the north. The best thing about this place is that it is absolutely ok to have your (friendly!) dog off leash. Rangers often drive the beach, and none have ever stopped me with my pit bull mix running around chasing her ball into the waves. If you are so inclined, as far as I can tell, you could walk along this beach for miles and miles. I have seen seals, whales, dolphins, all kinds of seabirds, crabs, jellyfish, and this is also a great place for collecting shells and sand dollars.

Nice somewhat busy but wide trail that ends with a nice view. The highway below was not problematic to me at all and street parking was easy to find on a weekend afternoon.

A little muddy a day after rain. Paved further down. Nice being by the beach. Good trail and also with a dog.

Suround sound from the highway below takes the charm away.

It was a great hike but not marked well. I definitely went a different trail for part of it. Thank goodness I remembered that I had the app. The GPS saved us today. Bring snacks and water. A piece of advice- don’t start this hike late in the day. Made the mistake and had a bit of an adventure getting back to the car.

Lots of car noise from the freeway, exposed the entire time. Beautiful chain link fence with barbed wire along most of trail. Won’t do again
