Great hike! Beautiful views. It is definitely a challenge. Would do this hike again

I have never gone hiking before and this was actually my first. So for newcomers like me, I would suggest moderate level of fitness, 2-3 full bottles of water, and shoes with good traction.

I came during February, so the weather was amazing, would not recommend this trail during the summer time. The climb down is a lot easier and faster, but be careful, because it is much easier to slip up going down.

Amazing Hardest Hike Ever! I’m Over Whelmed with accomplishing this hike....Best Ever! Gloves are a MUST as you’ll be crab crawling down steep rocky terrain. It is definitely a Hard Hike, Epic Summit with amazing views! GTAH,AZ 1-20-19 I kicked Ass on Flatiron !!!! 7.00 entrance fee, clean bathrooms on site :). Plenty of parking. Took me 6 hours total

We loved this hike, especially the north side of the Goldfield Mtns with spectacular views. Our Apple watches measured it at 8.05 miles though, rather than the advertised 6.9 miles. Take plenty of water and some snacks. It got a bit warm for mid-January on the south side for the last couple of miles.

loose rock, good climb wth the right amount of difficulty for the average hiker, great view at the top

Wow those views make the slightly perilous conditions worthwhile! Rain a few days earlier made the rock faces very slippy!

Be careful and wear good shoes and you are in for one hell of a view

Great trail with lots of greenery and flowers! Took my 16 pound dog and he loved it, it’s just enough elevation to be interesting but not too difficult!

Parking is a challenge. This loop is not easily marked. Lots of various trails you can find your way back.

Hiking is a misnomer for this trail as rock climbing is pretty much the theme for a long stretch of the trail. The trail started out deceptively easy and lulled you thinking it's not so difficult then after an hour into it you are suddenly facing a terrian in its most primitive form with very steep incline. bring enough water and two snacks. gloves are highly recommended

great nighttime hike.

I did the loop clockwise with detours to the lookout trail and Tom's Thumb. about 16 miles. Tremendous views. coming down the east trail after the thumb is pretty gnarly. A lot of loose gravel on the narrow and steep switchbacks. Pretty hard on the knees and I'm 26 years old and 175 pounds. Overall the best hike I've been on.

This is a great workout trail, and the view on the top is amazing.

first time on this hike and it was very fulfilling. a group of boy scouts went up around the same time and managed very well. we arrived at 6:30, park opens at 6. bring plenty of water, a flashlight for early morning, small snacks, and gloves for rock climbing. the trails are marked very lightly with either blue or white. plenty of shade for early risers. definitely going back!

Great hike this morning. Really crowded but still happy to do it since we were in town. Lots of scrambling and gloves would have been nice but we made it just fine. If we were to do it again we’d wear our hiking boots vs the hiking shoes just for the additional ankle support. The hike down was a little tough on ankles and knees but worth it.

Fun Hike. Great views, not too hard but has some challenge just to keep you awake.

Very gradual grade for the first mile and then it picks up going up the mountain. Great views. Very limited parking.

Good hike but always busy on the weekends

This was one of the most satisfying hikes I have ever done. Start early, as it is a long one if you want to go all the way up to Flat Iron. Bring lots of water. We wish we had brought both camelbacks. Some of my best hiking pictures came from this hike. You can see at kels_marin on Instagram. We also had a helicopter fly below us when we were sitting at the top. It's not for people afraid of heights. There was a woman at the top crying because she was terrified to climb down.

Good hike but always busy on the weekends

Beautiful hike and great work out. Plenty of parking. Park opens with the sunrise. Well maintained trail. This shouldn’t be rated as hard. No rock scrambling or crazy inclines. Don’t get me wrong, the first mile or a little over is a serious workout but not hard. On the fear of heights scale of 1-10 it gets a 4 so anyone can do it!

Great hike and incredible scenery. First mile is the hardest.

It’s 2.2 miles from the trail head to the thumb. 4.4 miles total round trip. Great hike. The first 1.5 miles is a steep climb, but a great work out. This area has a very unquie terrain and visual look. A lot of wildflowers out today.

The dark side is the best hike.

Sunny, few clouds, Friday 1pm 60°, medium traffic. This trail was not easy for me, had to stop on the way up (which I try not to) but a good one. Heart rate for up to 160 and legs got worked for the first 1.4 up then easier along the top also leg got negative workout on the way down. Had to use my walking stick on this one. Great views and flowers blooming with the desert landscape and big boulders. #newhikefriday #rjpathseakers

Pretty good ascent right out of the parking lot. Great views on the way up. Got a little confused on which way to go to do the Mormon loop counter clock wise. Lost the main trail at Fat Man's Pass. Hike was great. Watch out for dog crap, there was alot.

Good ol’ hike.

Great hike! Definitely not for beginners and please don't bring your dog(s) if you plan on going all the way to the summit. Stick to the left on the way up. Views were amazing.

I think it’s doable for most average fit people. If possible Uber to Echo Trailhead an finish through Cholla, way less bouldering on way down. Go early if possible.
