It was cool! Time flew by as there was much to see. You cross some little parts of the river that are knee high so prepare to get a little wet! (take some sandal or extra shoes for after)

Always a great hike! I hadn't been out here since the fire, but they have established a great trail that gets you within a stones throw of the palms.

Long hike, crossed the river a number of times ( i believe it was 8?) but it was an enjoyable hike. We started at sunrise so there weren’t too many people on the trail. If you’re looking for a long trail in SoCal, I would say this is one of the better ones

HikingFeeGreat!

The Trail is hard not for beginners. Saw some patches of ice totally dowable without crampons (for now). Top view spectacular. some scree of stone (just be careful on the way down.)

HikingGreat!

On the weekend you really do need to get there before 630 am if you want to find decent parking. The first part is a fire road and then the trail begins. Follow the red/yellow trail markers. There will be several stream crossings so know that your shoes will get wet or bring water shoes. But no more than calf deep at the most. The first half is beautiful and shaded and then the latter half is more in the sun. Bungee jumping at the bridge is fun to watch. Lots of people and most of them were not wearing masks. It’s not that hot (yet). Have fun!

First half of the trail is the prettiest. The high altitude severely affected my heart and breathing. Great challenge making it to the top.

Really enjoyed the palm oasis at the end. Don’t underestimate the heat, it was projected sunny high 80s today, got started a little before 11am (worst time to start i know), finished all 2.5L of water a little after heading back from the oasis, took about 2 hrs with lots of breaks.

If you don't get there early like at 6 am sharp. Don't. I repeat DON'T GET THE ADVENTURE PASS. I bought that shit, I mean it's 5 bucks but still, and I still ended up getting a ticket since the damn permitted parking area is small as hell and others park on the side of the road. Everyone got a damn ticket even those with the adventure pass like myself. if you do get a ticket you're looking at maybe 63 dollars or so. anyways hike is really amazing. stay on the path bring a good amount of food and water and make frequent stops if needed. we made it to the bridge. Bungee jumping is $120! other than that the water was cold and overall a lot of paths too take but it was beautiful! Also, careful with the rocks and the water the rocks are very smooth and if you have wet shoes you can slip and hurt yourself so treat carefully.
