One of my favorite little hikes to get some fresh air and take in the views!

This is a five star trail simply for the scenery. Sylvan Lake is absolutely gorgeous. Very simple walk/hike. Anyone in relatively decent health can complete this trail.

Easy and pleasant. Busy on the weekends. Great view of Rapid Creek at the summit.

Easily one of our favor hikes so far in SD. Not an easy hike by any means. Multiple stream crossings and narrow ledges. Took our 3 and 2 year olds. 3 years old walked the whole way, but had to be heavily helped over rocks and ledges. Took a dip at the end. Lovely.

Nice easy trail. Very well packed and heavy traffic. There are a couple of spots you can get off the trail with snowshoes but they aren’t necessary if it hasn’t just snowed. There are a couple off shoots of the trail that looked interesting and other trails near by.

Nice relaxing trail in late December. Highly recommended for all skill levels. We had snowshoes but they weren't necessary at all. Snow was packed tight due to traffic.

This is a nice trail with many different routes marked.

An easy walk, great for kids. Brought our 2 dogs and they loved it too!

The map shown here is inaccurate. It is a lollipop loop trail, but it's not this one. The long/lat is correct, so simply follow the trail once you get there. It's also 1.6 miles TO the loop portion of the trail, not total.

This trail is short and simple. Anyone can do it. Wouldn't really do it again because nothing too impressive compared to the other trails

Easy, road-width trail. Good for all ages and abilities. Slight hills to get to the lookout. The scenery at the lookout is amazing. The information about the first balloon flights is fenced in but quite interesting to read.

Beautiful trail. Alternates between open grassland and pine or oak wooded areas with a couple of stream crossings. Gorgeous views. Encountered a herd of bison about half way but was able to skirt around them at a safe distance. Note: the park rates this as a moderate trail and I would agree since the inclines are fairly steep and long - just didn’t feel like an ‘easy’ trail.

Beautiful lake, beautiful scenery!!

Easy walk on a road no longer used. Great view at the end. I remember years age being able to drive back there on that road. make sure you read about the history on the pillars in the fenced area. view at the end is spectacular.

Absolutely beautiful! Fall colors, babbling brooks, incredible vistas. My kids loved the rock sculptures as well. Highly recommended and we will be back:)

nice path, beautiful colors everywhere. walk next to creek to waterfall. can be busy at times.

Loved this short hike... Color is amazing at the falls! Did quite a few hikes in area and this little one was certainly one of my favorite!

snow on the hilltop and several whitetail deer, very nice hike.

If you do Door then you can miss this one. Similar views. Kids liked running down the boardwalk and balancing their way back.

beautiful, peaceful, wooded hike by lake. some hills. I'd say not quite easy.

Variety is good. Easy to get there with many inter weaving trails. Restful and colors a plenty in the fall. Watch out for poison ivy but aside from that is was just perfect.

Easy to moderate, unmarked, in-out trail that follows the stream along to the 'bathtub' at the end. It is a flat trail BUT does require crossing water back and forth, climbing up/down, through/along rocks the whole way. Wear sturdy shoes and be conscious of the terrain.

Easy yet beautiful walk around the lake. North side of the lake was less groomed and harder for the older group but they made it. Damn 20$ to get in though.

You cross the gorgeous mountain stream many times. some light climbing. One of our favorites ever. Keens would really help get over the slippery rocks and stream - better shoes would have saved me a scraped knee. This is moderate, NOT easy. I picked up and carried my preschooler several times. the trail eventually gets kind of dangerous for small kids. we saw the end but didn't go all the way. still enjoyable though to sit and tip you feet in the stream

Trailhead can easily be missed driving 60mph down the highway. Trail is just a gravel road that winds around a forested area. Lots of trees cut down and piled up along the side of the trail. Very secluded, but again, it could be because it's a gravel road that has been blocked off to car entrance. No true parking area. Road went downhill most of the way, so unclear if this was actually the trail or used to be the road to get to the trailhead which would lead up? Very disappointed.

This was an easy, mostly shaded trail. The falls were a little crowded but everyone was friendly. We were able to use our jogging stroller with a little extra navigation through some (very slight) uneven spots.

Beautiful, quick and easy hike. Trail was quite busy, but great for all skill levels. I look forward to doing it when the leaves start changing colors.
