Loved this hike, with beautiful waterfalls. There is a lot of climbing down tree roots and rocks so I would not recommend bringing small children, or doing this hike if you have any physical disability. But it is well worth the climb and there are great spots to have a picnic next to the falls!

Absolutely beautiful during the fall. Easy to follow and great spots for camping along the river. Highly recommended.

Easy walk to viewing area. We didn't have any issues with downed trees at all. Beautiful falls!

One of my favorite hikes!! Bring a lunch and enjoy the beautiful view!!

Parking is at camp ground parking. Walk down gravel road a ways until you see the trail.head sign for the falls. The walk to the falls was beautiful. Very wooded, lots of ferns, roots to walk over, under canopy all the way with small creek running alongside part of the way. The falls were more than we anticipated. Nice short walk for a beautiful fall.

This was a beautiful hike! I definitely would not rate this as hard - more like moderate. The only difficult part was heading back up from the river. The waterfall and river are totally worth this short steep section. Otherwise very easy trail that makes for a nice afternoon hike!

This waterfall is breathtaking! We couldn’t find the trailhead so we went down the gravel road about .3 mile to where the campground is... then the trail will be on the left a little passed the map sign...It is a awesome hike under trees from that point..Some places on trail are slick and narrow so be careful with children . We came only to hike to waterfall but ended up camping at their walk in campsites. They are first come first serve and free! They have fire pits and bear hangs for food so bears cannot get your food! There is a pit restroom which is very gross.. but everyone has to go sometime. Loved this Falls and the free campsite!

STAY RIGHT!! The trail wasn't marked very well and the roadside parking was a little sketchy. However, the falls were very pretty and worth the hike! There is an upper and lower section of the falls, so I would encourage you to check out both! The last little bit is pretty step, so be ready.

This hike can fool you. It is relatively easy on the way down to the falls. As other reviewer‘s have mentioned, there is a sharp left at the “end”of the trail (at the river) to get to the falls. The falls are spectacular. The tricky part is on the way back, it is mostly uphill. The hike it’s not difficult but the return trip will exert some energy. Well worth the time.

I love this trail but it is not for everyone .. first fall you must walk across tree to get there and the. Rest climb along tree roots and mountainsides .. I saw a lot of disappointed people that couldn’t get to the falls :(

Just to be clear in case someone else gets confused LoL.... when you park in the pull off gravel road you came up on, you will see a trail marker not far. on the trail marker you will see "74 yards" written in marker with an arrow pointing to the left. Walk back down the road you drove up on about that distance to find the actually trail beginning. Do not think it's the opening right next to the trail marker.

Short walk to an absolutely beautiful fall! My Jeep Compass performed perfectly on the dirt drive to the location. Lots of mushrooms and pretty ferns to view along the walk. Overnight camping is permitted in select areas surrounding the waterfall if you wish. I cannot wait to walk this one again in the winter!

Very poorly maintained. Trees down almost everywhere. . .so much so that I was forced to turn around.

Great trail, but watch for the turns. It is largely unmarked. There is a large stone arrow on the ground at one junction that directs you the correct way. As previously reviewed, the last bit of the trail leading to the Chattooga River is STEEP! The views of the falls and the river make the climb worth it.

The falls are beautiful, the fields of deer food plots you have to go through not so much. They've just been planted, and heavy rain on our way back turned them into rice paddies.
The way is confusing. The entrance to the woods is currently marked with a vertical stick with blue surveyors' tape. If you're hiking with dogs, just follow them.
We did not get stung by stinging nettle this time, but did see some -- watch out.
We were told by an Oconee native that the old rock structures visible along the trail are gold smelting pits.
I hiked in Tevas and got my feet wet four times going in and the whole way back (fields became seas of mud).

This trail is in the middle of nowhere but it is absolutely worth it. As for the trail, once you walk through the fields it gets a bit difficult to follow due to poor trail markings(follow the map in the app and you will be fine). Once you start getting closer to the falls the trail gets substantially worse and you have to climb up quite a ways over fallen trees and large rocks. All this being said, the falls are definitely worth the strenuous hike. I will definitely do this one again.

We went to the end of the dirt road to park my car then loaded up into the truck and went down the “primitive road” The trail was great! The last little bit is a little difficult but my 3 year old son did most of this hike.

Trails were not too bad. As the other reviews state, there are lots of trees to cross. The trail head is NOT marked at all, so bring your GPS or print off the directions. If you're going just for the falls, take the Lower falls trail (different site) for a better view. Be aware that there is no phone service. I would rate this trail as moderate due to the down trees.

Nice short hike with a great payoff at the falls.

This was an amazing start to the many trails we covered this weekend. The trails are navigatable but I used walking sticks to help a little climb up and down the terrain. Going to the bottom was well worth it. A family brought a picnic and sat on the rocks at the first area of falls to enjoy the scenery. So worth it if you want to try your skills at hiking along tree roots to get around.

Absolutely beautiful! I’m new to hiking and out of shape but it was easy for me. Very short hike, but took a bit of time to get to the bottom because of careful footing. So worth it!!! After parking, it took just a couple minutes to the Falls. The trail to the left leads to one waterfall, then to the right 3 more waterfalls. Camping areas were spacious and fairly clean (especially for being the day after Labor Day.) It was pretty muddy and rocky but so much fun. Bring LOTS of bug spray

Trail markings are sub par, so basically go through fence, keep cutting through several fields, then eventually on the right corner of the field there is the entrance to the actually trail.

Trail itself is in decent shape but still poorly marked.

However, the falls are TOTALLY worth it. Bring a camera and hammock!

Beautiful falls! The trail was challenging but fun. My 11 year old was a little nervous going down but we made it. Great swimming at the bottom.

Good hike; if you do geocaching like I do, DO NOT TAKE THE LEFT FORK! It is as stated, a cliff. The climb back up wasn’t worth it for me. The hike was easy but fulllll of silk weaving critters that seem to have silk throughout the entire trail!! I had to walk with a branch out in front to catch most of the silkies.

Really great hike! I took my dog (3-legged) and we both enjoyed it a lot. Only struggle was climbing back up the trail from the bottom of the waterfall. Also suggest longer pants for anyone with plant allergies as some parts of the trail are a bit overgrown. 100% worth it for the views.

A well-marked moderate trail. Will cross 2 small streams on the way to the falls. Beach area provides a place for those who want to take a dip. Recommend bug spray. Beautiful views with roaring falls.

Great Trails! Bring a truck for the 2 mile long drive down the gravel road

Portions are steep but a great waterfall at the bottom. Pack in a lunch (Cary it back out), sit and enjoy the cool water and breeze. I good workout

An extremely easy hike with a great scenic view the end.

Make sure to visit all three levels of the falls. My dog and I took a quick dip in the lowest level and it was amazing! Very easy hike although the trails to the falls can be precarious.
