Stunning sunrise hike

Great views!

Complaints of the trail not being maintained are exaggerated. I’ve hiked these trails for decades and they are fine. You’re in the outdoors, expect some overhanging plants. Once you are on the ridge, you are on an old dirt road with tons of ups and downs, very much like a fire road trail. The ridge isn’t especially pretty, but incredible views and you can watch planes take off from SFO. No dogs or bikes, that’s a good thing.

The beginning was steep. Towards the end of the trail there was an abandoned missile site which was pretty much graffitied. The view was okay, I could see the ocean in the back. There were no shades so it is best to go in the morning.

If you are a runner, this trail is challenging! Steep inclines, Half paved / half trail so if you're more of a trail runner make sure you're wearing trail running shoes! I had to slow down a lot when I hit the dirt since I was wearing road shoes. Mostly open and unshaded so bring sunglasses or a hat if its a clear day. The fog rolls in from the Pacifica side so also layer up! Cool views of the bay! Great workout if you're training for a hilly race! Please keep in mind the one restroom on the trail is unkept and really gross which was very disappointing because it forced me to end my run early.

Exposed but scenic views at the top

Easy hike with great views. Maybe spot a whale or two if you’re lucky!

Love this hike! Great views.

Coastal view is awesome on the top of mountain. But wind is pretty strong, remember to wear warm coat!

Great family hike! Came here with my family on Christmas day, and there's definitely pretty steep up and downs, but my parents managed just fine with a walking stick. We did a clockwise loop, South Ridge Trail to end of the Bluff Trail, a quick jaunt to the first viewpoint on the Middle Ridge Trail, then headed back to the parking lot via Arroyo Trail. Total was 2.55 mi, 653 ft of elevation change. Beautiful views of the coast on a sunny clear day. Bring a hat and layers for the wind and the chilly shaded Arroyo Trail.

Steep but worth it.

I love this app and it helps me to pick a good trail for us to explore and places to enjoy and being a family member

Easy but very beautiful

great views of the area. about two areas with steep elevation gain. there is a little network (3) of trails that can get a little confusing, so be sure to download the map. took us about 4 hours with time for pictures and resting. no reception in the parking lot, but spotty through out the trail.

The Hazelnut Trail is a steady incline for the first 2 miles, the switchbacks make it easier. Saw rabbits, chipmunks, lots of deer.
This December day started partly cloudy with intermittent sunshine. Made for a beautiful day!

Great hike and place for whale watching

Short easy trail, great views of the city and the bay. About 0.5 miles of the trail is on pavement. Must pay for parking in the lot.

Solid beach hike

Great trail with a killer hill or two, it connects to a flat trail that goes down to Rockaway beach. I enjoy it.

amazing views

Really good hike. The hike gets really steep towards the north peak. Recommended to do it early in the day so you are done by noon.

Great length of hike and definitely I’d rate this as moderate l. Steep dusty uphills are rewarded with nice downhills in intervals. The views along the way are absolutely worth the sweat! Bring a jacket if it’s foggy because on the way back you’ll need it in the areas with all the trees! We’ll do this one again for sure.

Lots of exposure on a sunny day, thankfully brought hat and sunblock! Views nice, but trail uphill a little monotonous.

All paved (for better or worse), nice views, good work out.

Unfortunately, lots of air traffic noise pollution (right by the airport).

I like doing trail because I love doing nature walk and enjoying and look at different types of plants and smell the Eucalyptus tree

Steep and beautiful views.

Very steep coming up or down from parking area...but not so steep that I had to slide on my butt.

Hidden gem sandwiched in between San Francisco and Half Moon Bay. Beautiful coastal views. Not as hectic as other over hyped trails in the area. Nice Fresh air. You might spot a whale or two on the lower end.
