Great, easy hike that puts you among the trees right out of the parking lot. The trees tower above you, it's difficult not to take pictures around every turn! You will see the Mother and Father tree (with signage and a description of their size), as well as a few trees that have been burned out in the middle, allowing people to step inside the resulting "cave." Great wide gravel path the whole way. I went with a 3 year old and a stroller and both handled it great! The parking lot gets crowded very quickly however, even in January! So, arrive early or feel free to continue driving to the picnic areas and parking there. Highly recommend this (or any) of the trails here!

Beautiful easy trail that has great variety of creek and water, to wide open meadows, and narrow pathways shaded by redwoods. Not suitable for children i’d say and best for hikers and mountain bikers.

A great trail for either an end of day walk or morning warm up. The cows were my personal favorite!

amazing views, peaceful hike

There are many different options to complete this loop. The loop has a lot of features, redwoods, ocean viewpoint, creek. It was a good climb at the latter half, and the trail has a lot of shades. Once passed the first descending part it would be a very good trail for running too.
One can see a lot of different scenes in this one loop. from mountain to ocean, from bare ground to tree canopies, from mountaintop to creek valleys.
Definitely worth the effort of completing the whole loop.

This has become my favorite trail the blaze whether rain, hail or shine

I really enjoyed hiking this trail. Parking is scarce, find what you can along the side of the road. Went up Limekiln and could hear the streams bubbling. Met more bikers than hikers the day I went. The green gate at the top opens up to a few other trails - but I stayed on this loop. Limekiln provides shaded trails while the Priest Rock side has more open sky. I’d say coming up the other way is more difficult with a steeper incline. All in all, took me under 2 hours to complete including a bit of downhill jogging on the Priest Rock side. Definitely will be coming back to explore the other trails in this area.

Short and sweet hike with greenery all around . Its an easy hike with not much elevation.

Great views of San Francisco and most of the Bay. Will be back again.

Good up hill workout. Nice rainy day hike with fog. Not many people. There are two entrances along the road. Park at one and take the trail at the top that loops back down. Then walk a bit on the road back to your car where you started.

Beautiful hike. Well marked & maintained. Views are exceptional. Easy, short hike.

Only a small amount 'street' parking; and maybe not strictly legal. Generally easy trail and quiet.

It's nice & quite to hike this place

I really enjoyed doing this trail with two of my friends on a Sunday. We arrived to the trailhead at 10 a.m. and we’re happy to see there was a free parking lot with a port o potty and hand sanitizer.

The difficulty is on the upper side of moderate for folks with intermediate hiking experience. It took us about 5 hours hiking a pace of 2.4 miles per hour and taking a 15-20 minute lunch. Most of the elevation gain is the last 2.7 miles of the trail. I would not recommend bringing people who are not in shape on this trail and if you do, expect for it take 6+ hours depending on how much they struggle.

We saw several banana slugs along the way and loved the scenery overall. This is a mixed use trail also used by trail runners and mountain bikers, so hikers should be extra aware that those folks are likely going to need to pass you at some point. The trail wasn’t terribly crowded either like some other Bay Area hikes can be.

Overall, a trail that is definitely worth experiencing if you are in moderately good shape.

Beautiful trail, which gives everyone at every ability level a glimpse of the Redwoods and the surrounding environment. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is heavily occupied, and not especially peaceful. I was almost ran over by a large group of school kids having a race down the path, followed by their teachers who were allowing them. I prefer the peace and serenity of nature to the screaming, undisciplined activities of children.

Bautiful view. Enjoyed it a lot
