Did this hike on the weekend before the snow came down. It was a great hike for my son and I. Trail was a little muddy and slippery in spots from the recent rain. And provided a good challenge for us. The view at the top was amazing and worth the climb. Lunch along the water was great and we were joined by a cheeky chipmunk and the chirps of the Pikas.

nice trail for start hiking specially with family

We love doing this hike at least once a year. Its fairly easy and has some pretty views. Nothing spectacular but its a lovely half day hike!

absolutely beautiful hike! seen lots of fresh jumping in the lake and many birds :)
plan to spend lots of time at the lake as there's lots to see!

A great trout lake but can be finicky. You can catch 50 when it’s on or 0 when it’s off.

Alder Trail Loop and Banded Peak Trail: This hike surprised me as it is so close to a Bragg Creek and a local school. I was expecting an overrun trail with little or no real substance. Instead, this easy hike had lots to offer a family with young children including: educational trail signs, wildlife, a small pond with a dock, and lots of sitting areas. The entire hike, that included both portions took a couple of hours. That was taking our time to enjoy all that the trails had to offer.

Beautiful trail.. I started early around 8AM, this hike is busy...crowds start at 10AM. Weather change quick up at Rawson Lake... moderate hike till Rawson lake.... it’s little technical after lake towards Saarail ridge be careful...

Great hike through mostly trees and a great creek. All signage good even if one for Praire Link was written with a marker.
I was hoping for a link to Prairie Mountain but didn't see one. Guess I'll have to go back to get Prairie ⛰ done.

wonderful pretty hike

Great hike. It really had everything. Great views all around the lake. Beautiful fall colours are out in bloom.

Long trail as some people said. Still nice and you can see beautiful scenery though.

Added this to Lake Agnes hike and was so very worth it! The switchbacks are pretty killer, but the view of Lake Louise from the top is amazing. So glad we did this!

great hike! good for all skill levels. The view of the lake and the mountain at the top did not disappoint.

Not a bad trail. We were going to do Moose Mtn, but it was snowing hard and we woulda been soaked and it was too much in the clouds to see anything, so we tried a lower elevation trail and this one was good for a wet rainy/snowy day. Once past the campgrounds you’re in mud if it’s wet but a nice walk for family and dog. Not strenuous.

Start of trail (2-3km) is basically a wide dirt road/trail. Would be good for biking. Once you break away from that, where the trail splits to go to Karst Springs, you are on a beautiful trail. The scenery is fantastic. This is a very enjoyable easy hike.

been year but great easy hike for sure well worth it

The first 3/4 of this trail is all uphill, but it takes you through gorgeous forest, and the views of the lake, cliffs, and mountains at the end make it all worthwhile. The trail was heavily populated with people of most fitness levels and quite a few dogs. To note, there is a pit toilet at the lake. The trail continues around to the far side of the water, and some of it is pretty rocky - good shoes are a must. In all, a trail I would recommend: hard work rewarded with a beautiful endpoint.

Awesome hike with lots of variety. Worth the climb, will come back and do again next year!

Great hike for our 8 and 12 year old! Didn’t enjoy walking the service road to get to trailhead but found a path that meandered through trees on the way back.

This was on the list for the summer and it did not disappoint. Steady climb to the lake but well worth it. Next time we plan on going on to do Sarrail Ridge.

Beautiful Valley. Awesome meadows. Great Peaks. The falls are awesome and a great place for lunch. You do all your work in the first 20 minutes then it’s smooth sailing from Elbow Lake onwards. You can continue on past the falls to Tombstone Lake or Rae Lake for a longer day - very worth it. Join us on Facebook at Hike Alberta and on Instagram at @hike.alberta

Steep at the beginning until you get to the lake, then easy walk through the windy meadow. Beautiful views. The description says there is an inukshuk but this has fallen, it is a pile of rocks about knee height that has “falls” scratched into it. The path down to the falls is a bit dodgy but well worth it. We had lunch right beside the falls.

Took our dog out for an afternoon hike September long weekend, was lovely, trails were in great shape. A few bikers but all really nice. Great round, including running into cows!

Last leg up the beehive is hard but the way to lake Agnes and mirror before that isn’t bad. Just leave with plenty of time. Recommend going up devils thumb once you get to the beehive. It adds another 1.5 hours ish and is poorly marked but well worth the views!!

Steep and hard! But so worth it

Great hike with amazing views at the top! The Tea House at Lake Agnes is a good resting stop before you go around the lake and hit the switchbacks. That's about 20 minutes of discomfort (depending on your fitness level) to get to the top. Keep your eye on the prize! It's worth it!

Beautiful hike and a little bit of everything to see - a waterfall and two lakes. Scenery is unreal. Some of the trail is steep in the middle but overall the hike is short. Can’t wait to go again. We hear you can go to furthest end of Rawson Lake and hike up to the ridge for peek views! Next time for sure.

Great i will do again with my friend. i saw lots of

This was a beautiful hike, that we did yesterday! It is all uphill and had some steep spots, but if you take your time it is well worth it! The trail is very well maintained. It was not busy at all. Once we got to Rawson Lake my son and daughter continued up to the ridge, it took them another hour to get up on the ridge. It is a steep climb up the ridge and they did it without any poles or equipment. Beautiful photos from the top of the ridge. Great hike, beautiful views!

love this trail easy for the kids and such nice views
