Someday Map

I hiked this trail with about 3 to 5 in of snow on the ground with snow falling. the paved trails were clear and you could still find some of the walking trails. It was fun to get off the path and put my Sorel boots to good use. It was a very peaceful day and there was little Auto or pedestrian traffic. Dawes is beautiful any time of year.

The trail was very well marked, which was a life saver in half a foot of snow!

Good walk to get the kids out and burn some energy. Cold day today and snowing (26 degrees). Trail was icy and slippery in some spots. Beautiful trail.

short easy but pretty

I thought this loop was really nice, especially when you go through the pine tree grove. It was a little muddy, but the trail was well marked and easy to follow. my dog also thought it was great!

(Short Loop) Pretty solid trail! Nothing too crazy in elevation changes. Trail was extremely muddy from a lot of rain the night before, and the streams were higher than I would except them to usually be. Water-proof boots are a must!

i just moved by the trail and have frequented it as a Jogger, a bicyclist, and just walking. it is decent asphalt. not crowded, ohio swampy scenary and with the amish using it horse manure quite frequent.

Nice hike. Easy . Nice lake and some rock formations. Saw a few hikers.

Close to 9 miles if you take all the loops. IMO one of the best day hikes in Ohio. Lots of ups and downs, big rocks and modest waterfalls, and great variety. There are a couple spectacular Sycamores by the old screen house that you don't see often.

nice place to run

one of my favorite trails at The Wilderness Center

An enjoyable hike within easy reach of Columbus. Doesn't deserve the hard rating; moderate would be more accurate. Nothing that was mind blowing, but we seemed to be the only ones out there, and were able to hike for hours. A restroom at one of the parking areas or at the ranger station would've been quite nice.
We also got the permit for the falls. I suppose it's worth seeing once, but we had over-hyped it in our minds, and were quite let down. If you could swim it would be a blast, but as it stands, it's about a ten foot tall waterfall that you can look at from a hundred feet away.
We'll be back to do the hike again, but we'll be skipping the falls next time.

Very easy flat trail. Some nice spots to stop along the way, including a covered bridge, some nice views of wildflowers, a small lookout tower, and a boardwalk over a swamp filled with frogs.

They have a terrific kids area that entertains my kids for hours. Beautiful in the spring. The woods trail has lots of poison ivy, though. I’d agree with a previous review about the photographers too. I think the park should curb the photogs some.

Nice hike. Trails are well marked and easy to follow. Lots of elevation changes kept it interesting. Not a ton to see but still a nice quiet hike. We opted to get the permit for Robinson falls. It's helpful to know parking is directly before Zwickle Rd., it's like a single car spot. Beautiful spot within a couple mins of entering the preserve.

After a nice rain the waterfall was great! Made for some great pictures! Wear boots and check out the caves along the railroad tracks :)

Love this place.

Nice variety of trails. Beautiful.

We loved this trail! The trail along the river is paved and really scenic and then we circled back on the gorge overlook portion, which is through the woods but pretty well marked. The kids (13 and 9) really liked it and it was good exercise but not overly strenuous.

The trail itself is pretty cool. HOWEVER, the noise pollution from interstate 76 is just too much. If you don't mind the constant hum of highway, which you can't escape, then go for it. I came here for a quiet escape into a trail but the highway buzz was just too much for me.

Great hike for Ohio! Pretty, quiet and good elevation changes. Highly recommend it!

Great hike and good workout! 3 hours with a nice variety of trails and scenery!

Great scenic trail that consists of 2 waterfalls at opposite ends of the trail. Dirt surfaces with some rocks and roots of trees along the path. A few descents can be taken down to the base of falls for some great photo ops. Not a lot of wildlife but saw some chipmunks and a variety of birds. Decent amount of overhead canopy but weather wasn't a factor except for being a bit muddy. Overall a great outing.

Fun trail to hike. Me and my family loved the exercises along the way.

Good hike, had info about trees throughout. Very muddy and slippery today so be careful. Only creepy thing was intestines and liver of what looked like a small animal in the middle of trail.

trail running

Ran these trails today. Was raining but not so bad under the trees. Great single track trails. Well marked. Good rolling trails. Saw plenty of deer. Will go back for more runs.

My son and I hiked the 8ish mile route. The trails were very well maintained and well marked- lots of “ not a trail” signs! The scenery is beautiful- lots of changes in ecosystems as we travelled up and down the hills. We did get a permit to visit the falls. It’s a very short distance from the road- not really a hike- but it was worth it. We’d love to see this entire area after a rainfall! This hike is listed as “ hard” but I’d put it in the moderate category. We will return in the spring for the wild flowers.

Great views. Not a very well marked trail! Trailhead not great. Keep your phone and gps handy!

Such a fun time! Although, it's definitely not a beginners trail.

My 9 year old son said it was fun doing it. The trail was short, exciting, & awesome.
