Super easy with nice views. Lin Cotton’s trail was a bonus, with lots of photo opportunities.

Liked this hike, good distance, lots to see. Didn’t enjoy the part of the walk that was on pavement.

* pretty, uncrowded in october.
* bring what water you need.
* lovely views!
* forested, shady, peaceful, wonderful walk.

Mostly in the trees, striking view of the lake from the top. You can continue on to Martin peak if you want.

Easy hike very pretty! Friendly hikers.

Wide, paved road. No obvious trailhead from the road. You just figure out a place to park alongside the road in. We are average fitness and 60ish years old; we just took it slow and took breaks so that our lungs could catch up. A good short hike for the first day at a high altitude! Also: amazing views!

Loved that there was a beautiful view at every turn. Windy and cold as we got higher! Winter is on the way. We caught a beautiful sunset at the Samuel Clemens bench - maybe two miles up? Wide, well-maintained trail.

This was a gorgeous hike in October with the trees changing colors. I would agree with the “moderate” rating Tunnel Creek Trail received as the entire path is uphill but the incline isn’t too severe. Our dog had an awesome time on this hike and I believe the graded trail had something to do with it. However, there is little shade and no water sources for dogs so bring plenty of water. We started hiking a little before 10 so it was pretty quiet on our way up. Traffic increased as we were coming down the trail around noon. There is a $2.00 per person charge to use the trail but it’s worth it because the trail is very well maintained. With an endless supply of stunning views and a solid cardio workout, you can’t go wrong hiking Tunnel Creek Trail.

Beautiful

hiked out of whites creek parking area..spectacular!! two deer were right at the top of the lookout of galena! Saw the occasional hiker...Whites creek seemed to be full. Have done this hike several times...But first since 16

The trail is paved. The amazing 240+ degree views of the lake are worth this quick hike.

This is a fairly steep but rewarding "up." We like to walk fast, but unless you're acclimated to altitude, go slow. We loved the views from all directions, the little loop at the top with history. Nice benches to enjoy the payoff from the walk. Definitely recommend.

Great family walk

Nice view and amazing I love it

We walked this trail in mid Sept so we almost had the trail to ourselves. It’s definitely a glorified “park” trail, but it was still very nice. Mostly wooded with a few open spots and all flat. There are restrooms and benches along the entire trail. I’m sure if we had walked this during the crowded months, it would have a different feel. Good for walking your dog and getting some exercise but if your looking to do a mountain trail hike, this isn’t it :)

My wife and I made it to the top on 9/14/18. Very inexperienced hikers but made it up and down in 3 1/2 hours. A few stops on the way up we’re needed, but it gave us a chance to take in the beautiful views. Windy on top of the peak, but the views made it 100% worth the work. Mt Tallac will be the target next trip out!

Great hike!! Steep but well worth the views!

Steep and soft dirt in the first half. Flattens out when you see the peak. Easy climb to the top. Worth hiking.

View is to die for, and if the climb up doesn’t kill you the climb down might

trail running

I love running by the river. Sealed path is nice to get in a rhythm and enjoy.
I ran it as a there and back (about 14-15 miles). WARNING if you do and start in squaw the last two miles will be up hill. I didn't realize until it was too late

Great trail if you want an easy stroll with beautiful views and some history.

Great trail, excellent views. The Monday hike had very few hikers on the trail.
