Beautiful hike, many river crossings and scenic sights. Bring lots of water and keep track of your steps because it’s easy to get lost since there’s almost not a single sign

Fairly doable trail. 2.2 mi to the overlook, then downhill all the way back.

I love this trail!! A friend and I came to this trail looking for the secret cave (we didn’t find it) but were pleasantly surprised with the hike anyway! We did lose the trail on our way up towards the Rocky Peak Trail split, so using the map on here really helped us get back on track. On our way down, it was much easier to follow the purple arrows. when you reach Rocky Peak Trail, if you turn left you’ll loop back to where you parked off of Kuenher Dr. if you go right, you’ll continue on a much longer hike but we hear the views on Rocky Peak Trail are beautiful. We brought our dog but there isn’t really any shade at all, so bring lots of water and wear sunscreen and hats. Great views the whole way up...it gets pretty steep at times. We will definitely be coming back to check out more of Rocky Peak too!

Three stars is because it’s so dusty. You couldn’t access the parking lot because the road was closed due to fire danger. So I parked along the side of the road walked up the hill a bit and found a place to enter. Once he and I had a Tonna fun and it wasn’t crowded at all then again it’s a Wednesday morning. Straight up I went and the rundown was very easy. If you got an hour and a half to kill go knock it out.

Not very much shade, but an amazing view at the top with the railway ruins! Bring yo’ sunscreen.

The waterfall (in November) was pretty small but the hike was nice, not a ton of people, and easy to get to, would recommend

I underestimated this hike a bit. It is definitely harder than I thought. But depending on the trail you take it could be easier. Landslides have removed part of the old trail so you have to travel on the dried up river bed which is fine. A lot of shade. Towards the end there was a clearing for sun but it is overall shady. Lots of river crossings. Bring some good boots or waterproof shoes. Some extra socks would be good too. Lots of fun! Very beautiful. Chances to see mountain goats which I saw none. Bungee jumping at the end. Expensive! $120. Wear some good pants. Wasn’t a lot of people there. There are some camp sites there as well. Next to a shooting range too.

Great hike with good LA history at the top. It’s all up hill with very little shade so plan accordingly with water and a hat. Also it’s street parking and it can get busy. Dog friendly

Dislike. No shade. Lots of graffiti and trash.

Don’t be misled by the short distance. It’s a steep uphill climb...sometimes up to 35 degree incline...steep all the way and rocky. It’s not too bad cuz it’s short, but it’s a nice little challenging hike.

Easy hike with plenty of people on a November Sunday late afternoon. Dry creekbed.

Only 2.5 miles up to the peak if you just want a good view (5mi round trip).

Fun and easy hike and the fall was beautiful. The parking lot was closed because of fire season. The incline from the parking area was the hardest part and added a mile to the hike. When the parking lot is open I would recommend for children.

Great trail we went with our 2.5 yo that was able to do the bulk of the trail and we we're able to carry her the rest of the way.

Not very challenging, but do not underestimate the stairs. My buddy was dying on the way back.

Kind of hard to find the entrance. A lot of interesting graffiti everywhere. Very green right now.

Wide open fire road that offers no challenge other than the inclination.
Almost no shade.
The rock itself is cool.

Creds- Have AllTrails Pro. 8 Nov 2018, 11.2 mi hike, 2,464’ el gain- followed AllTrails exactly.

Designated parking at Trailhead. Arrived 9:am Thursday morning no parking issues.

Started counter clockwise - recommend going clockwise. Why? Last mile shoe skiid down- no way runnable. Also no view. Go clockwise for great views and run ability. Loop at the half way point in good condition.

Liked the hike since lots of great views, trails in good condition, benches for lunch breaks, and easy parking.

Easy short hike. You need to climb some rocks for better views - that can be fun :) parking spot is small and you need to cross the road, so be carefull. we've collected a lot of trash after other people on that trail that day.

Short moderate hike only about 2 1/2 miles but the ocean views were amazing! It’s a loop trail with a nice seafood restaurant at the start/end of the hike

steep climb from the start. several side trails before the final climb. lots of rock climbing. several rock formations.

Nice moderate hike, some cool places on the way

Great for a short hike not to hard, but little water coming down the falls.

Well maintained dirt road, easy to park and find trail head, wide trail and when you get to the last 1/3 where the rock trail begins the terraine gets more challemging but we saw a 4 yr old doing it so really not hard at all. Great trail day!
