Super fun spot. Go early for best day. 8,9,10,11. Can be hot on trail back up. Bring water for returning. I am a Teva hiker. Relax in the neat pools. Upper is more challenging. Vertical. Totally worth it. You can dive from the cliff up top! Happy Trails!

Great midweek workout! Been doing this once a week for the past few months. Bring more water than you think you will need.

Trail was fun and challenging! Make sure you bring a walking stick or poles. This river is a little flooded but there are rocks that you can step on to cross over. Great day to hike this. Started out at 6:30am was nice and cool. Finished about 9:30-9:40 and could feel the burn of the sun to start to hit. Will do this again!! This was a fun hike, with some purposely added miles. Happy hiking!

first time I went was 5 years ago when my youngest was 7 and second time I went was 2 weeks ago in which I took my now 12-year-old and one of my 15-year-olds. Get your permit online a couple days prior! Right now they're only allowing 35 groups of five to get permits per day. Easy parking at the trailhead and then you set off for a two and a half mile hike in going downhill. roughly half a mile to three quarter mile track afterwards to get to the waterfall. I chose a day that was the coolest of the week and we had just had rains the week prior So that means we crossed three creeks and the waterfall was active with no algae bloom. there was a bunch of mosquitoes that you could see buzzing around when the sun started coming up. swims easy, of course it's cold, my kids and I we had a blast! of course, you always hear about the track back out... Yes it is uphill, if you do it in the afternoon there's going to be no shade hardly. bring at least a gallon of water per person is your best bet

Beautiful trail with spring flowers blooming!!! Tons of cars when we got there at noon. First time to hike this trail and first ever to start hiking mid-noon... what were we thinking!? Going down to the falls was easy but coming back up in that afternoon heat kicked our butt!!! The occasional cool breeze was a welcome gift. There were a lot of people swimming and a few sliding down the lower fall. Most dogs were off leash but very friendly and owners are close by.

HikingGreat!

Started at 0530, Saturday and surprised to see a lot of people already there. Brought a headlamp and used for the first hour. Go early!!!! It got hot on the descent!!!! As already mentioned, it’s a tough hike. Went through a 3L camelback... Took me 6hrs and 27min which included El Capitan-it’s only an additional 10min walk so definitely recommend since you’re already on the same summit! Trail is maintained— a little scramble up top and trail disappears a little but just follow the green markers. I managed with a good pair of hiking boots, there’s a lot of rocks and steep terrain. I saw a lot of people with poles but even with my granny knees, I survived. My recording stopped for about a mile somewhere so my distance is off... ended up just under 12 miles... Once you see the burnt truck, Look in the glove box!!!!

First you go up... then you go down. Only a few flat sections along this trail. Also, this trail is a little narrower than other trails in MTRP, but is suitably maintained. Be prepared for plenty of incline and some large steps along the way. Nice views of the other peaks in the park. Short hike with very little shade.

Definitely challenging but great, brought 5.5l of water on a cool day, and did not drink it all. The way there was fine but the way back got hard, the last thing you want at that point, is to ascent

went on a Sunday. it has lots of people on the trail but by no means is it crowded. it's just a really popular place to beat the heat. lots of small elevation changes made it a very engaging hike. going back to the parking lot was harder. lots of flowers and nature. watch the path for rattlesnakes. this is their home too that we are sharing. definitely be careful for poison ivy. it is everywhere the closer you get to the falls. it makes navigating beyond the top falls difficult

Nice basic hike to the falls, a very gradual decline for almost three miles. Many signs are posted to let you know how far you have gone (and how much you have left to go). Took me an hour to get down, and a little over an hour to get back up. Falls still had a bit of water, and the pool below it was beautiful.
