So OR Coast Map

It's a pretty significant climb right away, but the big trees and lush greenery are worth it. The west side of the loop is steeper, but shorter. East side is much more gentle, but longer. We didn't know this, and chose to go up to the summit on the west side. Glad we did - it was nice to be rewarded with a more gentle way down. The downed trees aren't as big of a hassle as others make it seem - that's just part of hiking in the woods (and I enjoyed the extra challenge). We will do this one again, despite lack of stunning views.

Great hike all the way to the coast. Saw several seal loins in the surf. Watch out for some poison oak near the trail.

Foggy on the way down. Back up is a bit got me working, but the views are spectacular.

Was out at the Oregon coast and passed the trailhead on 101. Decided to turn around and give it a try. Had read on here that the views are the greatest but thought I'd give it a try anyway. It's a good workout hike if that's what you're looking for. Actually felt relatively easy as I'm used to do elevation hikes anywhere from 5000 to 9000' so starting at sea level felt great. But a little more than half way up I decided to turn around as I was getting kind of bored and there were other things I wanted to explore on the coast before heading home. There a couple of signs at the trail head warning of recent cougar and bear sightings at the top of the mountain, another excuse I used to not finish the hike.

Great views but this is not an easy trail. The trails are also a little confusing as they are not clearly marked. The trail on the left leads to a viewpoint of Natural Bridge and then goes further along the coast. The trail on the right goes down to the coast as well but is very steep and slippery.

Absolutely worth the drive! Very remote, it was wonderful to be alone in the woods with 2 stunning waterfalls. Pack a picnic and enjoy on a Boulder below the falls.

Great views and a wonderful hike!!!

It's not Moderately difficult. I would say it's easy. The approach driving to the trail head can be breathtaking when the grove of (birch?) trees leaves are all golden yellow.

lots of stumble bumps. watch out for posin oak

We thoroughly enjoyed this trail. As my first hike at 64 it seemed difficult to me. We had been doing some town walks of 3 to 4 miles but they seemed like a piece of cake in comparison. Will do this trail again someday

was a nice easy off the road trek after lunch. relaxing as not to many people can park and be down there at one time.

Absolutely stunning. BUT, I would not rate this as easy. To get to the top of the arch was tricky, the trail is dusty which makes it slippery, there are lots of roots sticking out that can trip you up. The trail is narrow with no protective barrier on the side that leads to quite a drop. There were frequently broken trees over the path that we had to climb over. We are fit so it wasn’t too hard but my parents had to stop before we could reach the end. I wouldn’t recommend this for small children either.
That said the views were stunning.

The trail is a little “wild” there are quite a few fallen trees and a few overgrown areas, but overall it is a nice easy day hike. The entire trail is shaded and while there is no great sweeping ocean view at the top there are some great little views along the way so be sure to keep a look out for them!

went and hiked around this area back in April of 2018. didn't get onto the bridge like I wanted, but still something to see.

Went on both trails with my wife and 3 teenagers. 5 stars well worth it. Interesting history also.

I cant say how much I loved this trail! a flat and easy couple of miles to the ocean and then bam! a breathtaking ocean view. you can explore the ocean cliffs and cove for hours. a bit steep going down to the beach, but it wasn't a problem for us (we are both able-bodied adults). the path around the cliffs is totally flat though. we found a driftwood castle to eat lunch in, and were greeted by sea otters coming in with the tide! this place was seriously magical.

We didn’t make it all the way down to the beach, but had some great views of the sandy cliffs and rocks. We saw a spotted seal and lots of ochre starfish. Steep climb back up at the end. Had a lot of fog, so that hampered the view a bit u Cory Steph.

I explored this trail in October of 2017. I enjoyed it so much I nicknamed it the Pacific Coast Playground! Lots to explore here!

We stay at Whaleshead Beach Resort and hike to this beach with the kids and dog. Great beach and low traffic.

Beautiful views of the coast. About the first half mile is paved with scattered benches. The majority of the trail covers the wind as you are surrounded by lush ferns, flowers and tall trees. Access to the beach is pretty steep and has rope for some assistance.

This trail is relatively easy, mostly through the forest until the great view at the end! You can also walk down to the beach, which I would highly recommend if the weather permits. Loved this hike!

good hike ...despite a few fallen trees here and there.⛰

Perfect quick hike. Right off the 101. Incredibly beautiful.

The east trail had probably two dozen tree falls to cross. Pretty unenjoyable. West trail was a lot better. The summit has no coastal views so if that’s what you’re looking for I’d go with another trail. Minimal coastal views on the switchbacks. Good workout.

Beautiful views and worth the walks and hiking and climbing rocks to get closer to the falls.

Be careful, there is some poison oak on the upper trail for the Golden Falls.

Great trail, but a bit on the easy side. it was a bit foggy, but I'm sure the view is breathtaking when it's clear! nicely groomed trail. Good trail for a family hike.

Beautiful falls. Two short trails (15 and 20 min round trip) to the lower sides of both falls; 60 min to the top of the golden fall and back -with a detour to the silver fall and possibility to walk trough the fall itself / get sprayed.
Perfect family walks!
