Awesome winter hike! Definitely needed spikes , everything was packed down though. Did the ladder, it was a blast! Took about 3 1/2-4 hrs total

First time taking this trail and it was great, especially in the snow. Spikes were a must as it was quite icy. We almost didn’t take the ladders going up Mt Morgan, but I’m glad we decided to give it a try! Lots of fun and in the winter it was nice and quiet.

Nice hike. A balmy 14 degrees in the parking lot, but beautiful sunny day. probably 2+ feet of snow, especially near the top, but trail is well packed. Spikes and poles make this good footing. Views from the top are great. I considered coming back down Indian, but it was very lightly travelled.

Great trails really well marked. Carried my snowshoes but the entire loop was hard packed and didn’t use them. Used only my spikes, no post holing. Went Percival to Morgan. Would recommend if you want to take the ladders to go Morgan first....the cave squeeze to get to the ladders was a little less clear with the snow, but there are foot prints. My first time up there. It was breathtaking.

This is a great hike in the summer and almost better in the winter. Snow at the bottom was ~3 inches but at the top was almost 1.5 feet so snowshoes are highly recommended. I hiked up Percival and down Morgan, which is definitely the way to do it in the winter. Percival starts shallow then heads sharply upwards. Trying to get down the trail in deep snow would be tricky, but going down Morgan was no problem. The views as always are unbelievable! I stayed almost an hour on top of Morgan.
Time to Percival summit: 2 hours
Time to Morgan Summit: 42 minutes
Total time (with ~4 trail breaks and an hour on the summit): 4 and a half hours

Good moderate hike. Nothing fancy, just a good, steady climb. Great views from the top. Was a little slick in spots, with some ice. The top had lots of ice, so wear appropriate footwear in late fall and on.

Moderate trail despite the snow on the ground. Our spikes definitely made our life easier. We didn’t have the courage to climb the ladder and boulders, so we took the alternate trail to the summit, which was much easier. Amazing view on the top and lots of space to rest. Highly recommend this trail!

Great hike today. Trail crampons were not essential, though make the hike more enjoyable as you ascend to the summit of Mt. Morgan. There is a couple inches of snow and ice above 2000 feet. The views are fantastic.

Nice short hike, yes, steep like they all say. Hiked on a cloudy day after all the rains and with the fallen leaves it was interesting at times due to the incline. Instead of coming back down it, I went on over to Livermore and took the Prescott trail down to the old road. Nice way to make this into a loop hike.

A review that I should have posted 3 yrs ago. A 1st hike in the Whites for myself and son in law. We weren't in the best of shape, and without poles. At the top although soaked with sweat( Climbed in summer) we were rewarded with amazing views.

Solid moderate hike. Enough to get a little sweat and the heart rate going. Definitely worth it for the view. First time seeing needle ice (identified after googling)

Beautiful hike. Moderate hike, not too difficult. View at top was worth it.

My boyfriend now finance asked me to marry him at the top of Indian Head. It was nothing short of surprise and filled with a beautiful view! Amazing hike, easy for frequent hikers, definitely moderate for the random hikers such as ourselves. Totally worth the trip especially when the Flume gorge is filled with people!

Loved this place! And so did my dog! It connects up with other trails. Definitely wear some good water-resistant foot gear!

This is definitely more of a moderate trail and not an easy beginner hike. It is about 1.8 miles each way but the view at the top is very worth it. It is a pretty steady incline up hill for extended periods. Worth it to wear hiking boots and a hiking pole.

Did this back in June as a "warm up" hike and loved it! Finding the trail head was a tad confusing but the trail was a breeze and the summit had amazing views. Will do again and recommend to those who with families and beginner hikers.

Not difficult endurance-wise, but technically challenging! Really fun if you like climbing up and down boulders, going up ladders (awesome but definitely a little adrenaline-inducing), and squeezing through rocks into caves!! Went with a group of 8 friends and we all loved it!

Parking is minimal. There is a half moon on the right where the blacktop ends then a short walk up the dirt road to the trail on the left. The beginning of the trail is nice and wide and a steady uphill climb for quite awhile!! I was very winded, but got through it!! The trail gets a little tougher as you climb. A lot of loose rocks and a ton of water!! It’s a great workout both ways!! Very pretty at the top!! All in all, a Great hike!!!

Nice hike. Unbeatable views. Well worth it.

beautiful heath, technically no dogs allowed.

Great views for a short, rainy day hike! Waited for the clouds to change and saw great colors.

Beautiful, easy, relaxing! Beautiful view with easy access to it. Great for kids. Great for running, walking, off road biking, snow shoeing. All season fun!

great hammock spot and many wildflowers

This hike has the most beautiful views I’ve seen. With that said....it was “Terrifying”! Definitely go up Morgan and down Percival. If you have the slightest fear of heights, avoid the ladders and caves. I personally don’t recommend this hike for young children.

Great hike! The reward at the summit is completely worth it! Moderately hard.

beautiful and serene. you forget you're in an urban hub

Beautiful perched water table bog!

Gorgeous views. Highly recommend the direction of Morgan then Percival, by way of the ladders/cliff on Morgan and caves coming down from Percival. I'm prone to anxiety attacks with height and this was just enough to challenge me without being unachievable. Simply fun and beautiful for most hikers! We took our time on the trail and spent significant time in the summits. 5 hour loop from the Mt Morgan Trailhead parking lot.

This was a good hike, lots of effort and one of the longer hikes I’ve done with my kids. The view was okay for the amount of work going up and down. I think this was a good hike, but I’m not sure I would do it again compared to all the other mountains and moderate hikes around NH. However, I do think if you are a regular hiker, then this is a must do just because it is a popular hike and it’s nice to be able to compare it with other hikes.

Unreal views! Accidentally took the Mount Morgan trail instead of the initial loop we noticed on the map for this hike...ended up doing a total of 5.5 miles with the 4th mile being the toughest uphill ! Yellow path was a good workout for sure.
