Nice paved trail. Easy short hike with a beautiful view.

Our first hike in the Smokies which was also during our honeymoon and it was an amazing site to behold. We completed this hike 2 days ago, arrived to the trail head at 8:15 and were the first people in the lot. The first mike or so was a gradual incline along a wide gravel trail. We encountered several downed trees along this route. Also, we encountered here so amazing views of the river below. Due to the government shut down there were no rangers on duty during the time we did this hike. Nonetheless, Ramsey cascades trail was a very well manicured trail.

After the first mile, this is where things start to get interesting. Deeper and higher into the mountain side, coming across some HUGE trees, crossing back and forth over MULTIPLE streams and river bridges.

The last mile was very difficult, but making it to the waterfall at the end was a once in a lifetime experience. Covered in ice and snow at the top, Ramsey cascades was the perfect backdrop for or lunch.

After eating and re-fueling, we headed back down for what I thought would be an easy trip back. The rocky trail proved difficult to go down, and by the time we made it back to the car, both me and my wife were absolutely exhausted. I would recommend this trail to everyone! It was absolutely breathtaking.

Beautiful views! And a bit of a workout but worth it!

Great trail in great shape. One of my favorite hikes. I will say this it is straight up. 46 degrees at the parking lot and ice and snow in spots near the end of the trail. If you aren’t in at least average shape you should avoid this hike.

Should be rated easy to moderate. No rocks or roots to scramble over. Very smooth path. Gradual incline with generous amounts of downhill. Took 54 minutes to get up to Ramsey Cascades. Just gorgeous. Easily doable in flip flops or tennis shoes and no need for cold weather gear. Zero stream crossings.

My favorite hike in the Smokies.

Amazing hike! It’s not too long of a hike and it’s on a paved trail with dirt trails coming and going from it. The falls are amazing and your able to get right up too them. There’s a upper and lower fall. You can get down to the lower part but you have to be careful with the rocks! Beautiful views!

2/3 of the way is pretty basic. The last 1/3 was more fun. Stepping through and over more creeks, trees, rocks. The terrain became more intense. Once I reached the waterfall, the temperature had dropped and the rocks were iced over. It was beautiful, very private and reclusive.

Went in November 2018. Right after a decent snow. About halfway up it was all snow and ice. Massive ice icicles were falling from the top of Alum Cave. Was a little daring trying to hurry up the frozen ground to get under the protection of the cave. Highly enjoyed the excitement of it all. The steps at Arch Rock were a solid sheet of ice. Fell only one time going down them. I enjoy the harder trails with a little twist of ice and snow.

This was a trail that was totally worth the view at the top. All paved trail that has a steady and tough incline the whole way. The view from the observatory at the top is great. 360° view of the mountains that is very photo worthy. The most challenging part of this trail is parking. It is an absolute nightmare. Narrow two-lane road with cars inventively parked on both sides and a line of cars that goes halfway to Gatlinburg.

Really not terribly difficult, the stair portions are the hardest since they are quite the incline (calves and quads will feel it). The rest of the trail is moderate incline the whole way. The view at the top is pretty good but as of recently the last part of the trail has been closed, which is where the good view is.

This is a beautiful trail, kid friendly. Short with some elevation gain. The waterfalls make it all worth it, we spent about an hour taking pictures and splashing in the pool at the bottom.

Waterfall is best part no surprise but hike is busy because it’s paved with all levels able to enjoy it. Mostly tree high Mountain View

It's a nice looking (though not very dramatic) water fall at the top of a fairly large ascent. The trail is easy in the sense that it's well paved, without any rocks to climb over. Just keep in mind that you are basically walking a ramp to the equivalency of the top of a thirty foot building.

It was great to see, along with all of the other folks hanging out up there, but I don't feel the need to ever return.

We hiked this trail Jan 11th 2019, about 3/4 of the way up there was a bad icy patch, not un-crossable with out clips but definitely not for the feint of heart. There were 9 of us and 4 were inexperienced hikers. This trail was hard but entirely worth the effort. The views from the top were worth all the pain of falling on the ice. Bring lots of water, it gets warmer as you ascend due to the sun shining on the mountain. There are plenty of places to rest and take great pictures.

Worth all the effort! from the moment you see arch rock you know this is gonna be a cool hike. inspiration point should be enough to propel you to the end of this hike, but if that's not enough allum bluff is a wonderful turn around point and not much further past inspiration point. 10/10 will definitely do this hike again.

Be sure to check if certain parts of the trail are closed due to weather or trees down. Certainly a gorgeous hike anytime of the year. Less traveled in winter it seems.

very easy hike I walked a 2 year old anyone could do it beautiful trail nice view

Beautiful views. A perfect hike for a beginner to moderate biker. A good workout!

Very nice hike, very busy even though we went early. The waterfall is smaller than imagined but very nice area to sit and take the view in.

nice hike! definitely was a work out! I would start your day with this hike then maybe head to another trail after. beautiful views!

Leg smoker, lots of rocks on the trail, so wear good boots! The view from the top is incredible. This is a popular hike so once you make it to the end, there are quite a few people climbing on the rocks for photo ops.

Did this hike on the way to Mt LeConte. Falls were gorgeous and you're able to walk behind them. Went on a Monday in December so there were no worries of crowds whatsoever.
