Beautiful! I am a beginning again hiker. It has been decades since I hiked. This was the longest trail I’ve done so far. I enjoyed the hike so much. It was tough but I survived. It had the water flowing parallel with the trail. It had some steep hills both ways and of course the hardest was the uphill after the waterfall visit. The waterfall was beautiful. There were a lot of families so it’s great family time. Bring band-aids because someone is sure to scrape something playing on the boulders.

Absolutely loves hiking this. Was a challenge but once we made it to the top, it was well worth it.
The view is absolutely breath taking.

The hike was great. Definitely come early to get parking since it’s limited. I would also rate it a moderate hike. Good hike for families to bring kids. The falls was beautiful. Saw two salamanders when I got it the falls.

The trail is rocky and well maintained. It took us about 3 hours to hike up but we were carrying larger packs because we camped out a few nights. There are plenty of places to refill water so no real need to cary more than you absolutely need. The parking lot is plenty large but still recommend getting there early as Alum Cave Trail is the busiest. We probably met 50-100 hikers climbing up as we came back down (the reason I rated it only 4 stars). Next trip to Leconte, we will take a less popular trail.

We were hiking this trail when it was little rain and that was awesome experience, overall this trail is amazing with beautiful views ,very recommended

Great walk and beautiful falls. When the reviews say “heavily trafficked” they aren’t joking. It’s almost too busy to walk it but once you navigate around the people, it’s nice.

Difficult on the way up but the virws are beautiful. Much easier on the way down. Worth the climb!

Fully paved walkway with a great prize at the end of the trail. There is a nice resting spot with a bench and a view at the .7 mile marker. shortly after this the trail levels out and depends slightly.

Great trail for our family with small children. Easy enough for young hikers but with enough trail features to create several teachable moments. We will definitely visit again!

Easy walk through mostly dry river bed when we were there (Aug 28th) I really enjoyed the views of smooth side walls and searching for the pictographs. We found them in two completely different areas. Met a local and explored the opposite direction of the waterfalls after we were done there. Lots of rocks, boulders and cairns along the way until we saw a cave up high to our left. It looks like a big sand castle! Not a challenging hike but fun to explore.

It had been raining & it made it (the falls) all the more beautiful. Beautiful walking through the woods. All uphill the first 1.3 and then down hill back.

Great views!

I can't give this anything better than "average" until they reopen the full trail. Pretty tough hike for anyone not in shape, straight up most of the way with a few views. End section to the Chimney Tops is closed (gated and spiked). Park Service built a little overlook pad but doesn't compare at all to the chimney tops. Park Service needs to make reopening this a priority!

Good hike, moderate hills, descents, and flat sections. Falls and pool below falls is great reward. Decent crowds but not annoyingly so.

More people than water on this one. Was disappointed with the falls, particularly given how crowded it was. One or two nice overlooks on the way up...but main take away was either come early or late, or just spend time on other longer/harder trails to avoid people.

Paved but please leave your strollers as its not smooth and it might be crowded. In fact, the trail was disgustingly crowded when I went. Nice quick trail if you can go at a time where you can avoid the crowds.

Quick and easy! It was empty when we went and we loved the view!

So many steps but a very nice view once you hit the top. Unfortunately the second half is still closed but you still get a great view of the mountains and the chimney top.

Very well marked. Beautiful views all the way up. It is a little difficult but you will not be disappointed.

Amazing hike! Easy if you are a prepared hiker. Next time we'll spend more time hanging out at the falls. Added challenge was carrying 35lbs of wiggly toddler and pack.

Paved trail short, but challenging. We were there on a clear day so views were great.

Awesome trail. Very beautiful scenery. Lots of wildlife. An outstanding 1 hour hike

Our group really enjoyed the hike. It becomes easier when you do it with a group. Towards the end of the trail there are lot of steps ,good to be prepared for that. Trails has lot of beautiful water falls . Beautiful hike overall

Well we were feeling ambitious after doing the 10-mile Cades Cove loop so we decided to hike the Abrams Falls Trail with our son. We might have bitten off more than we could chew as several times I debated carrying my 5-year-old the last two miles of the hike. The first leg of the trail was amazing offering great views of the stream below, climbing and dropping in elevation several times and finally offering a nice place to rest at the falls. It was a summer day so it was warm on the hike but the falls provided a nice cool breeze. All in all I would still do it again in the future. Just be prepared and bring plenty of WATER!!!

This was our first Trail on our family vacation to Gatlinburg. We thought it would be a good introductory Trail for our 5-year-old son and we were right... he loved it! There are quite a few creeks/streams to cross and views of the mountains. We were lucky enough to spot a few bear cubs along the way! Of course the falls at the end were the biggest hit - my son loves water, climbing, and salamanders so he was in heaven. I would strongly recommend this hike - the only downfall is the limited parking at the trailhead...plan accordingly

We hiked the last weekend in July. My boys 9 & 13 had no problems going up. My 13 year old had a 15 lbs. pack, so we were very watchful for the pack not to throw off his balance around the cliffs. Hiking poles help if carrying packs. A liter of water and trail mix for hike up. Refill water at the lodge & buy a sack lunch. Picked up our yearly Christmas ornament at the office.

Beautiful trail! Don’t forget to do up to the Cliff top. There’s an amazing view!

I enjoyed the trail very much. The last part to the tops is closed. But that does not affect the beautiful view of surrounding mountains!
We faced thunderstorm on our way back and it was pouring!! Memorable hike!
